He can’t really live off that game forever. It doesn’t work like that.
 
We don't need to bring players in, we need to sack this manager. There are goals in this team if we switch to a tactical system that actually makes sense and doesn't expose the weaknesses of our players.

So, because one of his teams had an incredibly good game once upon a time, it makes our amateurish football less amateurish or less his fault? I swear that game has attained such a mythical status, you'd think he actually went on to win the Champions League. But no, he went on to get beaten by Pochettino. Maybe we should call him as well to be our next manager, because he actually reached the final that year.

Tbf the desperate state we were in after Ralf and Ole, we were looking at the tiniest nuggets of hope in anyone's CV at that time. Hopium basically. We have been doing this the past 10+ years.

The thing is, most of us here have still not learnt from all that; whether it's the new people, INEOS coming in, new CEO, DOF, etc or grasping at straws for a new manager that will be much better than ETH.

BTW, I want him out too. But we need to have some self-awareness, some sense of responsibility, and some realism about our expectations going forward.
 
Luton really forcing us to up our scoring game recently.
 
If Luton has 20 plus shots but we win, I guess a lot will still be satisfied.

edit: read the stats wrong. They had more shots and possession. Omg!

Would we even be top scorers in the Championship with ten Hag? I don’t think so.
 
Plenty of posters were asking where the goals were going to come from before the season started. The answer is they aren't.
Couldn't we have done a loan deal for Oishmen or Tony or someone? Zerkz is no striker, and Hojlund is still a young prospect, not a starting no. 9. Then what? nada

Maybe Osimhen, but a loan for Toney would have been very unlikely for anyone to pull off unless it came with an obligation to buy. Last year of Toney's contract so they were looking to sell ideally.

It's not just having players to finish off chances. We're struggling there with Zirkzee, Bruno, Garnacho on the stats being a bit wasteful but we're only middle of the pack when it comes to xG and all that too. Would someone else really have made that much difference? Perhaps some while not fixing everything.
 
We got Höjlund and Zirkzee in for the same amount that Liverpool spent on Mane-Firmino-Salah...Our lack of goals is a result of incredibly bad transfers..

If only someone could of seen this comming.....checks notes....oh yeah a shit load of posters on the Caf and a sht load of United fans everywhere. I mean it's not fkn rocket science is it. 57 goals last season and then we get Zirkzee. What did they think would happen?
 
2nd fewest across Europe's top 5 leagues, only the mighty Lecce have less.
