Anyways Di Maria is probably the best shout of actual “failed” players (so no Mata/Pogbas/Martials).

Amad is neither weak nor slow. He's actually strong for his size and quite explosive.

Did you watched Mata play? Can you imagine Maya playing as a RWB? I don't think anyone that watch them both would say there are remotely similar physical wise besides their size.

In terms of pure ability, Di Maria would be perfect in one of the #10 roles. But I expect his mentality and lack of interest in being in England would still have been an issue so it still wouldn't have worked.

Otherwise, there's no-one that I'd consider a true 'failure' that I think would work here. The Veron call is interesting though and it might work. If you include Martial or Pogba, then either of them (pre-injuries destroying them) would be a significant improvement. Hell, I could see Lingard in his earlier years being a good wingback.

Never suggested that Mata would or could play as a RWB, he's a 10 and this thread is about playrs who esentially failed at United, Mata was a heck of a player at Chelsea but at United he was played in a postion wholly unsuited to his skillset
