Omar Marmoush

Whilst there’s probably zero substance to this opinion, but i would not be surprised if City know there’s a points deduction coming that will wipe them out of Europe competitions for the next year or two, and so they are signing players who are below the top tier.

They haven’t been linked to any big names or top tier talents. Players that wouldn’t stick around if City faced any sanctions.

They’re being linked to Marmoush, Reis and Larsson. Don’t seem to be in the running for a player like Kvara.
Many think that there's substance behind the possibility that City will emerge the verdict with a smile hence the fact that they're spending again after a couple of years of austerity.
Far from expecting a points deduction I would suggest the opposite is true hence the fact that the wallet has now reopened?
They're looking for a blend of players to solve immediate problems and alsoi nvesting in the future.
They've been poor on the recruitment side for a couple of years. This is them trying to make up for lost time.

Doesn't seem suited to City from the little I've seen / heard about him. Massive price tag too.

14 goals, 8 assists. Almost the same stats as Kane. He looks pretty much like the playmaking forward they missed out on with Kane.
Good numbers for sure, but I'd look to how well the likes of Jovic & Kolo-Muani did at Frankfurt before landing big moves and underwhelming. They're clearly doing something right with their attacking talent which so far at least, has not translated consistently when the players themselves move on.

I'd also say that Marmoush looks more suited to a more counter attacking setup, running in behind and covering space quickly. This feels like a bad fit for City for obvious reasons, but I don't keep as up to date on these things these days so, who knows. Could well be wrong.

I haven't seen him play too many times he certainly isn't a carbon copy of Kane but he is a striker who always seems to have an eye for team mates and is quite a bit faster than Kane, even though he rather goes wide than dropping deep like Kane does.

On top of that City have unfortunately been doing really well with their Bundesliga recruitments, especially if you compare it to our track record. Kompany, Sane, De Bruyne, Haaland, Gündogan, Gvardiol and even Akanji have done all pretty well for them.

Sure, I can see that. And yes they have historically done well from the bundesliga.

I suppose a bigger question will be how well he is able to fit into their rotation. Perhaps like Alvarez (for a time) he'll be fine not being the main man? Perhaps not.

I don't think it'll pan out, but who knows.
