Yeah, we've been wondering what the hell he's been doing there since 1997 I think. Last year he wasn't in the world championship squad though?

Anyways, we are well off with three excellent keepers. Sweden have one mediocre..:)

Some decent defenders, Pitkanen, Timonen and even Numminen has been playing great lately. Wonder if Jere Karalahti is allowed to play though? he obviously needs to be in the squad if so :cool: Janne Niinimaa should never be allowed back, that whinging twat.

Forwards we haven't really got as good as the other teams, but hard work might compensate.

Yeah, Myllys was right though, their best keepers are finnish.

Yeah, played both hockey and football up until being 18. University I played basketball. And it would never have been accepted that someone started whinging before the most important games of the season because he felt like he was badly treated. Getting shit from coaches is what it is all about, feedback. Then you can whine and complain with the lads at a 'saunailta' or when going our for beers and complain about what an asshole that coach is etc. As it was, Niinimaa was kicked out of Islanders training as well this year.

Didnt know that.

I didnt want them to sack Summanen cos i think the Finnish nationalteam need to have a coach like him. BUT the fact is that hes a fecking cnut and I understand why Niinimaa did as he did. I welcome Janne back with open arms.
Finland needs him.

might need him :) Summanen is a cnut, but a decent coach. Think he was sacked because he didn't get along with anyone, not the rest of the management team or the key players (koivu etc). We would need defenders that can defend, Pitkänen, Timonen good going forward. Niinimaa is in the same bracket, perhaps in the second power play lineup..

Sami Salo is alright defensively, can't think of any other defenders right now except Jere Karalahti obviously who plays for the number one club in the country :cool:
 
Lundqvist mediocre?:lol:

He's as good as Kiprusoff.

We have a average defence though.

What if Koivu and the others had done the same ?

I would have done exactly the same. Its about pride and I would have told Summanen to feck off too. The cnut...

The others didn't whine, played the tournament and did it excellently and THEN it was time to deal with personal issues, must be said that Koivu is an fantastic captain. But Niinimaa..he put himself above the team. I disliked him already back when he played for Jokerit and what a twat he turned out to be.

Kiprusoff är grym men Lundqvist utvecklas hela tiden framför allt är han stabil något inte Salo är. Han ligger 3a i målvaktsligan som rookie i ett "mediokert" lag i NHL. Hur ofta slår sig en målvakt in som första målvakt i NHL kolla bara hur lång tid det tog for Kipru att få chansen på allvar. Det blir Sverige-Kanada i final och Kanada vinner som vanligt:mad:

Han ligger 3:a i målvaktsligan för att han aldrig får spela Richter..det trycker upp procenten.

I certanly get the point, but I still cant dislike Niinimaa only cos of that "accident".

I really hope he´ll play for us in the Olympics, but only if hes good enough though. ;)

Do you have more info on that Icelanders story ?

No, read it in iltalehti or something. Niinimaa said it was normal, coach said it was normal for players with bad attitude. But he has been playing since, even got an assist in their last game against Toronto I think.

Jo han har fått spela mycket men Tom Renney satsar ju på Weekes ofta av någon anledning han är ju usel helt allvarligt. Kiprusoff har 8 mer spelade matcher än Lundqvist har han också spelat lite?;)

Han har defenitivr potensialen att bli lika bra som Kipru, men han är det absolut inte i dagsläget.


Och som du själv säger så tog det några år för Kipru att slå sig in i NHL, och lundkvist är bara en rookie, så det säger sig självt. Ge honom några år så...

Martin St. Louis has certainely been quiet this year. But as always, Canada has one hell of a team.

Remember that world championship final a few years back when the first thing they did was to beat Forsberg up (or did they tackle him from behind or something) and then Forsber went all missing in the game and sweden lost the final :)

Första kedjan är en bra kombination, vem fan var det som spelar i allsvenskan den svenska pressen ville ha med? var det just ragnarsson? steget kan vara stort.

Ronnie Sundin från Frölunda är helt yes.
