Olivia Francis, 17-year old Welsh forward has joined United (U21s). She was voted as the Young Player of the Year in the Welsh Premier League last season, scoring 11 goals in 10 appearances during the campaign.

Another one of our U21s Mayzee Davies also received her first senior call up.

Lot of United influence on that squad. Hayley Ladd is a regular of course. Gemma Evans is there. Safia Middleton Patel (currently on loan at Watford) has played more for Wales than for us. Carrie Jones (now at Bristol) is there as well.

Mayzee and Olivia should have plenty of support around.

Kind of yeah but it happens quite a lot in the women’s game. Especially when it comes to not so great nations.
True maybe, but I’m just imagining this love child of Olivia Newton-John and Trevor Francis, playing in the colours of Ryan Giggs, Hayley Ladd and Mark Hughes, she’s got to become a world beater, no?

Wales interim manager:

“If you’re good enough, whatever level you’re playing at, you’ll find your way in this game.

“We’re delighted with how Liv has been in the U19 camps and it’s a really good opportunity for her to come in and showcase herself to the other players and for us as a coaching staff.”
