What was the point of giving him a new contract before this season? Does anyone know?

We had the perfect hand - a manager who no other big club would take, with a year left - if he had a great season he'd sign an extension 100/100 times even as lase as June next year because he loves the club, if he failed, we'd have next to no payoff to pay.

How come we as normal fans can see that Ole is out of his depth very early on the season and the board can't? They are the ones running the biggest professional club in world football and being paid millions doing it. Surely, they must react now?

Enough is enough, we have be scammed by Ole 3 years rebuild bullshit. He is a snake oil salesman.
It won't be for much longer with these clowns in charge.

feck bruno. Ole is clearly out of his depth and the fans have been patient long enough. Team has looked like shit for the longest time now. At some point they had to stop clapping and being overly supportive for him and have a bit of a go.

You know like Ole should with his captain who wants to show up the fans over the break and then comes back and does that shit to get sent off. Maybe try and not high five him on the way off

One hopes that when the dust settles on his time here, Ole has the mental fortitude to bounce back. It's been painful observing a person we adored receive so much ridicule but there's unfortunately no evidence that he has the skillset to navigate the club forward. For his sake, I hope he realises the best way out is for him to resign.

While it was obviously inevitable Ole had to go, there was a worry there'd be no one to replace him. Now, it's painfully clear his presence is a negative impact on the players, fans and everything else, so let's do this now. Put a temp in charge while we look for the new manager. We just got dicked by Watford.

Then he's quite simply a deluded idiot.

If that's your opinion of every manager who's ever been fired, then at least you're consistent. Otherwise you're just letting your (understandable) frustration with Ole cloud your logic.

Supported United for over 40 years so no, I wasn’t born in the last 10.
What makes him a legend ? Because he scored a last minute goal in an important game ? So did Michael fecking Owen in a derby game, does that make him a legend too ?
I swear people who say this never watched us in the 90s and 00s. He was a great player. Who put the ball in the German’s net used to be scouser’s net because he did the same thing against Liverpool also. The guy scored so many important goals and always gave his all to us. Had a great spell at RM too. Great last game for us and gave a lovely speech in the stadium.

He’s a club legend. Still is. Always will be.

Paddy power have paid out early on Solskjær to be the next manager to leave. Wish I’d of put something on with them!

I don't buy that 30m figure in the slightest. If they have to sack him, it might cost a third of that. But they could squeeze him into a "mutual consent" but still a hefty payout, to "preserve" his legacy.
That's good with me. Don't buy it. Your explanation is that the board is just incompetent while my one is that they are greedy. I am pretty sure which one is more plausible.

Also there were several reports at the time that the Glazers balked at the financial implications of sacking Ole i.e., if we sack him and make the CL then we would just break even. It is in their interest to keep a yes man at the helm who would get top 4 every year without rattling the cage. Paying him off and brining on a more ambition manager would be akin to lighting a fire under your own backside.

This is purely motivated by money. It has nothing to do with being loyal to a manager.

Because nobody rewards incompetence like Utd!

As great a player as Ronaldo is, bringing him back in has really destabilised the club, especially Ole.

Ole now looks like a rabbit in the headlights and I genuinely believe that all his plans were turfed out the window once the Ronnie circus rocked up…..don’t think Ole has the strength of character to deal with all these egos

we really really need some strong leadership now

We’re past that stage now. He can’t possibly still think he can rescue this situation. 4 losses in the last 5 games (mainly hammerings), goal difference of -1 (27 less than Chelsea). It’s all about the pay off.

Nah he will certainly think he can bring it back, this is a guy who's survived at the top level of elite sport (as a player) for years.

As I said, he's obviously wrong, but every manager in the world things they can turn a bad situation around.

Agreed. He was an absolute legend when on the pitch.

Well, apparently it is bad for a squad if the future of their manager is uncertain. @OleBoiii

If a villa manager had won 1 in 7 and got absolutely battered in most of the losses, including shipping 15 goals in 4 games, he'd be sacked. It wouldn't be a discussion. This has reached a surreal level now. There simply has to be something we don't know about, like a summer deal for somebody, but even then a caretaker now is clearly better than letting this rot go deeper. The quality of attackers we have, the signings not being used, the complete cluelessness as to what to fix as games go on. I cant believe what Im seeing most weeks.

The task of stabilising us a bit was within Solskjaers ability and he did that job fine. The task of making United a title challenging team that dominates games is far far far too big for him and he's gotten worse as a result. He is completely lost.

As someone commented:
- Glazer as owner
- Woodward as CEO
- Ole as manager
- Maguire as captain
We are fecked !!!!

I don’t want Rodgers, I’d prefer Ten Hag but I bet the former is waiting for his phone to start ringing any minute now after that result.

I hope we’re ringing the latter.

Pretty sure he won't show any shame and will claim he is right man for the job.

What's the V sign?

Sticking up your index and middle fingers. Means "f*ck off". Historically arose as an insult against the French, who had a habit of removing captured English archers' index and/or middle fingers. Believe it is also where the middle finger insult originates. Sorry for the history lesson, but it's nice to distract myself from United at the minute.

Worst manager post SAF. If he survives this we can just stop pretending to be a big football club.

12 points behind Chelsea after 12 games. Negative goal difference.
5 losses in 12 games, we lost 6 after the whole season last year.
We haven't been that bad before and that after 3 years and ton of money spent with our best squad post-SAF.

Just get rid of him as fast as possible.
