I agree, although I don't see any transactions in this Jan window. I can't see any funds being released to an interim manager unless we already know our manager for next season and he has identified targets, although can't see us being that organised right now.
Just had a thought that we could see a 4-4-2 at OT for the first time since Fergie's days. But then did some research and found out Ole likes to play with 3 up with 2 inverted forwards. Oh well, I can still dream!

Having thought about it this afternoon, there's a chance you're right. Solskjaer could actually improve United because him and Phelan might actually do some fecking coaching.
As far as I'm concerned the worst that can happen is we finish 8th but the players are happier than they were. I'd agree with the worry in here and in your post if Ole was a permanent signing but if the club follow through on their promise then we'll have a DOF soon to take over the football side of things and hopefully a manager more in tune with club values than the last 3. I think it wasn't just SAF leaving that killed us but the fact that no other top club has had a SAF in the last 20 years. You are always going to fall behind when the guy who managed you for 20 years could take care of and delegate the football side of things to near perfection. I hate saying this but City really showed the way in getting the right system in place before hiring the perfect manager for that system (helps of course when Pep can demand a new back 5 
). We hopefully seem to be waking up to trying to emulate this. At worst we finish top 8-10 which could have happened anyway, at best we play better football and the likes of De Gea, Pogba and Martial can be convinced to stay for next season. Anyway you guys need to pull the finger out, get De Brunye fit and stop them bastards from winning the League. Also screw up your CL campaign again, cheers!

Get the feeling SAF has had a big influence on bringing Ole Gunnar back.
What a breath of fresh air to get rid of Mourinho and bring in Ole. Feels like a heart bypass at the moment. Can't wait for some fast, flowing, attacking football. Might take a while to click but it's gonna be great!!

I'm just happy we have someone who will hopefully actually work on attacking play, Ole was a master at finding space and being in the right place that the right time - lets hope this all rubs off on the players.
Without a shadow of doubt. I wouldn't be surprised if SAF was secretly put in charge at first, with Ole carrying out his orders.

Club legend. Respected. One of Fergies favorites. What more can you ask for? His unsuccessful stint at Cardiff is to his advantage. A young leader learns ten times more from failure then from success. We should mainly judge him from his last two seasons with Molde. Solskjaer the player isn’t Ole Gunnar the manager, two different characters. I expect him to act with confidence, humble authority and being decisive when needed. I also expect Mike Phelan to guide him when necessary on daily basis and Sir Alex to be his weekly mentor. Someone who can give him perspective, calmness and boost his ego on a rainy day.
Any new interim manager has two main goals to fulfill ASAP.
Lifting the spirit inside the dressing room and getting supporters believing again. That’s the most important thing short term. His body language and expressions must install trust and respect. That’s the first step.
Secondly he must have some sort of short term vision. A realistic goal to gathered around. Making everybody reading the same page. Winning the next game is fine but a club of our stature needs something more.
I think (my wish) that OGS has the personality to succeed short term. He’s honest, straight forward and positive. That’s a stabile foundation to stand on. Nobody expects miracles. Just take the club forward with a positive approach is enough the first couple of months.
All in all I’m happy for Ole Gunnar and that the club trust and respect him so much that they are willing to give him the keys to our management room. That’s a vote of confidence. Sir Alex and Sir Booby will be his guardian angels. With Mike Phelan, Michael Carrick, McKenna, Nicky Butt, maybe Ryan Giggs and some other ex player/coach as his operating management group he has a strong core of United personalities around him. It will ensure him to feel secure when he have loyal people around him, avoiding leaks to the media and create a strong bond to the local community. Finally he knows a few a the key players in the dressing room. If he can get Pogba, DDG, Lingard and a few more inside his inner circle then he can handle the dressing room with confidence. That’s a must.

Maybe the club realised were doing abysmal and actually decided to listen to someone who knew a thing or 38 about managing the biggest club in the world. They may have sought his advice and that could be why then brought Mike Phelan back. Well done again Sir Alex (which is what I believe). Our Knight in Red Armour.

Unleash Pogbeast, use Lingard centrally, get Lukaku back to fitness, and play actual CBs for a change. Not too hard to achieve, IMO, now that Jose has left.
Our Holiday run is not too daunting so he can have an immediate impact.
