...go on then. Elaborate.I think you've missed my point.

Keane literally threatened to fight people on a daily basis, even when injured for not training. The Brian Clough era of management was over a long time ago, you can't scare people into performing anymore. People often mistake this bullying leadership as good management, Keane was never going to make a good manager because he's just too emotional. Ole is the complete opposite. But obviously not as a manager. Just look at Keane - an amazing player but a shit manager. It's very different
I know, it was tongue in cheek. He did really well, albeit with an easy CL run to the final and a 2 horse league. Just saying that you don't have to have managed Madrid to have the managerial qualities to managed United.Who? Mourinho? He won Uefa cup and CL back to back.
I doubt our team could improve massively without signings in January to challenge the top 4. PSG have a better team than us for sure and are massive favorites in the CL. That threadmarked description of his second spell at Molde doesn't really fill me with confidence, now that I have read it.Well I think the sacking of Jose now means there will be no January signings so that won't be an issue. We'll get a DoF in and look towards the summer for new recruits. I suspect the expectations for Ole will be to go as far as you can in the CL, try to make the top 4 and win a domestic trophy. I'm sure if he manages to win anything and we look good he'll be considered on a perm basis.
I wouldn't be too worried. Molde and United are very different beasts. The resources available to him at United will mean he can play the way we want to play, at Molde his hands are tied to what talent they can get that doesn't end up at Rosenberg.I doubt our team could improve massively without signings in January to challenge the top 4. Voted no, it's a PR appointment and an ill thought out one at that. We needed someone to steady the ship not a mascot.
That said I'm excited to go on for the ride obv because its Ole
It's only the same as other big European teams taking punts on managers from Holland or France, or dare a say it, a certain Chelsea taking a gamble on an obscure manager from the Portuguese league. Also, Roy Hodgeson went over and managed in Sweden for a few years, won a couple of trophies and he's done alright.
I hope I'm wrong about Ole, but Neville, Keane were unmitigated disasters at managing level with no experience. I'd like him to build his way to United managers position. Even if you use Barca/Real example they have been assistants or reserve team managers before stepping up.
From what I remember about that he was just too ambitious with the way he wanted Cardiff to play. They weren't capable.I've no idea how good a manager he is, but people who look at his Cardiff stint and thus conclude he can't be much good have tiny minds.
I know, it was tongue in cheek. Ole is different, he spent years at United and won many trophies and knows what it takes. He's more qualified than Giggs for example but people are turning their noses up at him because he manages in Norway...Jose had just won the CL!
I'm very happy with the OGS appointment. But we would all be tearing our hair our if we went and appointed Rikard Norling who is the manager of AIK in Sweden for example. The links to Utd are far more important that who he has managed in this instance.
Unless he fails, and you have totally ignored everything I have said...
But why would he agree to this if there wasn’t even a chance of a permanent position?
Money, chance of a lifetime to manage the club he loves, put himself in the shop window for other jobs if he does well.
He has literally nothing to lose in taking the job.
Not really, is there anyone else available right now that would be a good appointment? This is a good appointment as a caretaker manager, anyone that doesn't know the club coming in now would just do more damage.This.
I wonder if all those who voted yes, did that just for the excitement of a club legend managing us.
Someone gets it.I think most attacking managers would have failed with Cardiff. He should never joined them.
I think this move from us will turn out very good.
They were up shite creak when he joined them anyway. That's never mentioned.I think most attacking managers would have failed with Cardiff. He should never joined them.

This.

How could Utd 'accidentally,' announce it?
We're a PLC;have a duty to announce this to our shareholders in an official way not drop a hint here and there!
What a fecking shambles of a club we're turning out to be!!
It happens. Someone was creating a placeholder in advance and accidentally published it. We are not the first top club to do something like this and won't be the last. How could Utd 'accidentally,' announce it?

And I'm not sure that was planned either...
At least we managed to sack the manager without any leaks for once.
I'm a web developer and this shit happens all the time. Someone does the work for the website, creates a pull request for a merge, boss then merges all the work done that day to the main site and forgets that this should have been delayed content. Someone then has to pull the page. How could Utd 'accidentally,' announce it?

We're not just a 'top club,' though. We are one of the world's leading sports brands. It happens. Someone was creating a placeholder in advance and accidentally published it. We are not the first top club to do something like this and won't be the last.

It's fairly common...
Keane is not someone who you'd trust to take control of the dressing room and has show it many times. Neville seems to be given up on management after that experience.Roy Keane won The Championship with a team who looked doomed when he took over.
Gary Neville took over a team who were doomed, half way through the season, with no understanding of the language.
Solskjaer has more managerial experience than both Zidane and Guardiola had combined before they stepped up to manage Real and Barca.
Also, its a caretaker role. There is nothing to lose. It seems the club are finally doing something right and taking the time for proper reboot.
Our website won't be run by one guy and a Wordpress account. It will be an agency that do daily merges to fix bugs and add new content on a daily basis. These things happen when you have many moving parts, as you do when maintaining a website of this size. We're not just a 'top club,' though. We are one of the world's leading sports brands.
But we're run by fecking amateurs
Looks like this decision was heavily influenced by some of our senior directors like SAF, clearly playing to the gallery. I just hope Ole will have enough willingness and ability to tame some egos in the dressing room, if needed. Modern players on big wages are tricky to deal with and he doesn't have any experience with the likes of Pogba, Sanchez or Martial. Let's hope Ole can motivate them.
Fingers crossed for him, as he's one of the Old Trafford's favorites, here's hoping he can steady the ship a little.
Maybe they're waiting to see the results of the poll on the caf.It happens. Someone was creating a placeholder in advance and accidentally published it. We are not the first top club to do something like this and won't be the last.
They could have possibly made a template ready to push when the news was confirmed, but if they were doing that they most likely would have left the name blank and the the quotes generic. I think they were briefed by the club and I suspect we're just waiting for the contracts to be finalised with Molde before we announce. What you described is why I wondered if it was the only content and if they didn't do it for all potential caretakers?
