Guys, when Ole got the job, none of us could predict what is happening in the past 2 months. Ole himself wouldn't predict this. This is Hollywood stuff. The Resurrection of Man Utd!
We had 64% of the ball posession. How they were better drilled at passing and as good as us at it, when we kept the ball twice as much as them.
We also missed two starting midfielders.
Its not the possession, its what we did with the ball in possession. Southampton moved the ball around better than we did when they had the ball. Our midfield at times struggled to string more than three passes together. We started the game very well and missed a few chances but once Southampton settled they got very comfortable on the ball
That's it. I was frustrated with watching them moving the ball around better than us, it's not just about midfield but as the whole team, we need to do better.
I fully agree, and this is why we're already out of the CL. PSG were just on another level with their movement and we couldn't handle it at home.
The injuries we've had haven't helped but there's been a massive improvement in this area since Solskjær arrived. I'm really excited to see how the club can push on next season with some new players as well, we can only improve from here which should be worrying for our opposition. This is exactly what we need to improve ourselves otherwise we won't get to that level. Our pressing unit, movement, passing and ball retention needs a bit of work. I know it's not going to improve overnight but I still have a hope that we'll get better with style of play.
Why do people keep fecking insisting this? Seriously, you want us to lose a couple of games maybe even three in a row, just so you can see if we win the next one and/or play well after it? You want us to become Burnley just to see if Solskjær is a good manager?Fully behind OGS getting the job, but I think we need to see how he reacts to a couple of defeats and poor performances. I know we got beat by PSG and reacted brilliantly, but things have moved on and we are on a crest of a wave that could soon turn sour if we lost 2 or 3 on the spin - will the players still be so fully behind him then?
Clearly, I hope we don't have to go through this, but his 'audition' kind of needs some bumps in the road for him to show his true potential for the job.
Can't be happier with everything MUFC since JM left. It's been like a dream. I'm hoping he gets the job full time and we totally push on next season.

We have PSG and Arsenal, I know the PSG is a write off but if we're not careful it could be 2 in 2 and suddenly things don't look so great.Fully behind OGS getting the job, but I think we need to see how he reacts to a couple of defeats and poor performances. The amount of situations that we have to wait and see happen before people jump fully on board is ridiculous. Nobody would have the effect Solskjaer has this season, and it's annoying as feck when people give a situation and seemingly assume that pochettino would pass everything with flying colors. Would he feck. No "let's wait and see how he does for this or that". Who knows how he is going to do long term. But he needs to be here long term and that's all we know.Fully behind OGS getting the job, but I think we need to see how he reacts to a couple of defeats and poor performances. Even if we lose to Arsenal it's not a big deal. Nobody will ever have a perfect run against every big team. Solskjaer has already won away to Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea. They are also top teams so they will naturally get wins in those games on occasion, like they did when Sir Alex was our manager. We aren't favourites when we go away to other big 6 teams just like they aren't favourites when they come to OT.We have PSG and Arsenal, I know the PSG is a write off but if we're not careful it could be 2 in 2 and suddenly things don't look so great.
Hopefully we put on a good show against PSG and then beat Arsenal.

This was never a situation of Ole needing to get top 4 to get the job. Mourinho made it almost impossible and yet Ole has basically done the impossible so far, but there's no telling on if we'll grind it out all season (this run of form is unsustainable for anyone), and Ole would still have done a terrific job even if we miss out so long as it's not a complete collapse.
Yes its shite. And it weakens the impact of the next 'ole at the wheel', the 1234 was perfectAnyone else hate that the fans have added "you scouse bastards" into the Ole's at the wheel song?
So silly in such a fun little song.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Ole, and we may do the league/FA Cup double with him next season. However, what if we lose in the Champions League quarters next season? How does he react to that setback? That, not doing the double, will be the true measure of Ole’s worth as a successor to the likes of Moyes, LVG and Mourinho.
Our away record is perfect though since ole... maybe we can pull a rabbit out of a hatI fully agree, and this is why we're already out of the CL. PSG were just on another level with their movement and we couldn't handle it at home.
Not out of it yet... but the odds are very much against us. Wait till Wednesday to say this, if it remains true. There have been crazier comebacks against psg, and not that long agoI fully agree, and this is why we're already out of the CL. Personally, I think we should wait with appointing Solskjaer, he hasn't faced any REAL tests yet. That'll be his first real test.

We were doing fine till we lost 2 players to injury.I fully agree, and this is why we're already out of the CL. PSG were just on another level with their movement and we couldn't handle it at home.
Don't worry, I'll give you a few moments with this...This has to be the biggest troll post ever.
After 6 years in the doldrums our absolute priority is the return to the top of the English standings. So if he does a double, then that is miraculous work in 1 and a half seasons. That would make him untouchable for a few years!
To assert that we should be judging our manager on whether or not he makes the CL semi-finals next year, given the most recent history, given the squad...is way off the mark in my opinion.
Domestic dominance is first. European second. Besides, it will take a couple of transfer windows at best to identify and work on attracting the types of players we'll need to step up to the best in Europe. They're just not available in one transfer window. And how many of this top level signing do people think we'll need? Four, five?
Next season, if he get's us 3rd and within 6 points of 1st that is consolidation and sustained evidence of the ability he is showing now. Whilst an instant jump back to the top would make us all giddy, the requirement now is steadying the ship, returning it to the right waters and planning for the journey ahead.
You are my Solskjær

Also show me the team that is incredible in attack right now around the league. Liverpool have been shiite since the new year, City are scraping 1-0’s, Tottenham have been bad recently as well.I think you need to appreciate that although our football isn't as attractive as it was this is down to available players. We've had to make a number of changes between and during games which has made for less fluid football. We know (from early games) how he'd like to play but he has not been able to pick the same players on a regular basis.
Watching it now too. Love Ole. Him saying that after his Cardiff stint he thought he blew his chance with the PL and in fact, wanted nothing more to do with the PL and England was telling. Also admitted that he took the Cardiff job cos small part of him thought if he did well there, United might come calling.Watching the show with Roger Bennet on NBC. Ole is the one. No way they put this interview on for a temporary manager.
