Is Ole a good appointment?

I'd only be convinced by him if he overturns our 0-2 deficit and beat PSG away. He is just a good interim manager and I don't think the job should be given to him permanently. Go all out for Poch.

Honestly think anyone doubting him at this stage needs a ban. Don’t need that sort of negativity in your life.

Superstar manager in the making.

Having changed my vote to Ole, it's worth considering the downside of appointing him.

For me, he's playing football the United way. My only fear is that it might be an outmoded tactic. The previous two managers failed because they tried to change tactics and couldn't make it work. Ole is largely working because he's gone back to SAF basics. But the two outstanding teams in the league play with a high press. Are we really likely to do better than them over the course of a season with a counter-attacking formation. Or is it the kind of strategy that will give us top four but not silverware?

I think we need to add another level of tactical sophistication to our play. Not sure who in the current coaching team has that kind of bandwidth.

Since Ole took over, 11 matches ago, united tops the table. That should answer the question for you. Yea, and United has conceded fewest goals also. Only 7 against.

Unuted 29 pts
Pool 24 pts
City 24 pts
Arsenal 22 pts
Spurs 21 pts

And Poch said today, before his loss, that he might need 10 years before he managed to win the league with Spurs.
How negative is that. Feckin hell he is our next manager

Guys, it's only Palace. The real test is still somewhere out there. I don't know where, but it must be.

Very good game management tonight, made the change that led to the goal. Made a very hard match look easy and that's with all the injuries, very impressive tonight.

Also United have just one fewer goal (26) than City and Liverpool (27)

If he continues to outperform Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs until the end of the season (let alone Liverpool/City), then there's no decision to be made; he will obviously get the full-time job.

The club can wait until April/May before pulling the trigger, but I'm sure tables like the one above will be rolled out in the relevant board meetings between now and the end of the season.

Makes Jose the biggest mug or con artist in football.

When he left our GD was 0. We had a rubbish defence, so we were told, so we played to compensate that.

Since he left we have conceded the least, scored the 2nd highest and increased our GD to 19.

Amazing turn around by Ole

IF we score first it could become a very interesting tie.
Indeed it could. Looks like he may have played 3 at the back towards the end, and allowed Young and Shaw to push forward, I wonder if that could be a possibility for PSG? McTominay in the DM role, Fred and Pereira midfield and Rashford and Martial up front.

I just think they can´t wait that long. Solskjær is a family man, and he is currently the manager of Molde. They have to show him some respect. If they are not convinced yet, they can just as well say they are not interested.

Any time anyone raises issues with a particular manager, it's negative or awful for a certain kind of fan. Of course he should be next manager. The question is can he go up to the next level tactically.

oh boy, i hope someday we'll have a nice long list of whoppers from our post-SAF ex managers.

I think we'd be about 9 - 10 points better off had Ole started the season, it's all relative I guess. I was a José fan but it wasn't working out unfortunately, I'm glad he's gone because I still think we can finish this season strongly.

Is it just me or defense is getting better and better. In the start of his stint we looked a bit shaky and nervous in defense even though we're winning. Recently we looked composed and secure at the back and there was not so much panic as before.

It's what happens when we set out to play against the opposition rather than sit back and cowardly give them possession. Plus our defensive organisation as a whole just looks a lot better, we still need to cut out the silly mistakes like Young's brainfart.

To be fair his first couple games a high press is exactly what he implemented in the team. I think he just recognized that not all our players can play that system, and they definitely aren’t conditioned to it after 2.5 years of Mourinho’s tactics, which are the polar opposite of a high pressing team. I’m pretty sure if he gets the job, we will emerge next season as a very aggressive, high pressing team.

Jose had a team with attacking talent, players that like to express themselves, trying to play dour defensive football and defenders scared to make mistakes and in general just over complicating football and making the squad miserable. Ole has simplified things, letting players play with freedom and is very positive in general and the results speak volumes.

Also thought that he'd have a really good chance of winning manager of the month again, but then I saw City's results in February and yeah Pep's definitely winning it

Back to the future under Ole. Embracing the qualities that made the Utd he knew great.

8 away victories, 12 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat?

Pih, I could do that with my left leg.

The media is in love with Ole, they are going to give him a manager of the month, it's not always about winning every game.
