Ole Gunnar Kevlar - Bullet proof manager.
Amazing how he’s escaped criticism from media and journos, any other manager and the media would be turning him into a laughing stock.

Not surprised our board haven’t sacked him. They are after all incompetent and the time they decide to back a manager they do it with the worse manager in the league.

And our squad isn't as shit as being 10th in the league with 13 points only and only scoring 13 goals with GD +2.

Don’t you know you need a squad full of world class players to beat Rochdale over 90 minutes, and to not lose to West Ham, Newcastle and Bournemouth?

They have a squad FULL of world class players. Do you genuinely think that there is something other than inconsistency in this squad?

Which is why they are still 4th in the Bundesliga unlike us who are in the bottom half.
They still sacked him because Kovac isn't good enough. The result against Frankfurt was just the tip of the iceberg.
Ole is neither but our fecked up owners and high horsed board that think blabbering about the United way was enough still don't see it or don't want to see it or just don't care about our football. It's a shame that this club isn't half as well run as clubs like Bayern. They act fast and ruthless. Just as it needs to be at the top level.

They sacked him because he lost 1-5. We lost 0-4 last season against Everton and barely flexed a muscle.
They sacked him because the football was dire and Kovac has been tactically inept in every big game save the Spurs one. Yesterday's loss was the final straw that broke the camel's back. By the same token, LVG had a worser start and still managed to keep his job.

If Ole had those results and got sacked, I think fans would storm the grounds at OT.

Amazing how much he's getting away with just because he was a great player for the club. Lunacy.

He was a super sub that scored a great goal. He wasn't a great player. History is being rewritten when it comes to Ole.

He has been a terrible manager but the 1-5 loss was the last straw. Anyway how you described Kovac doesn't differ much from our current clueless manager.

There's worse. Any team that's doing better than us apparently has a better squad or something.

Living the dream coaching united and making millions at the same time. He will not step down even if we touch the relegation zone. The problem for me he is a liar, he said united should be an attacking side, its in our DNA, yet, he plays with 5 defenders against the big teams and against the small teams he plays with two DMFs. If he does not resign, he will lose his place in the fans hearts for him as a legend.

The sacked one got the sack when we were 11 points from the 4th place. We are just 11 games in the season and we are already 10 points of the race to top 4. FFS how can any united fan sit and watch that and do not protest, this is mediocrity in its finest definition and fans need to wake up and start to show the manager he is not managing Molde FFS.

Easy now. He's not a top manager, we can all agree on that. But changing formation against a far superior Liverpool side was the only sensible thing to do. Factor in the lack of options and we actually have an easier time of it fitting in a 532/352 formation. The midfield options are too limited so he's going with what he has. He should have bought 2 midfielders in the summer, Ed should have sanctioned deals. It didn't happen, so you go with what you've got. I'm not on the Ole train but he will always be loved.

Chelsea?

Meh, Bayern don't have a soul. And what is their long term plan? Sack managers every year? What that will bring to them? Titles, attacking football and what else? Nothing. :wenger:

Yeah united need to be proactive like Bayern Munich and give Solskjaer 16 months. ;)

Shame on them, how can they not stick with their mediocre manager? Loyalty to a mediocre manager is much more important than titles and entertaining football.

They just needed to give Kovac 5 more years and he would have turned to the new Jupp Heynckes. Idiots.

It's funny how a classy club like Bayern ruthlessly get rid of their manager because they don't believe he's good enough but a lot of our fans think United are above sacking managers and should give them years even if they are out of their depth.

So, go with two slow centre backs, two non-creative midfielders, and what, a false #10 (for what are they if not false #10s?). Whether we play 343 or 4231 or even 442, our attacking play is poor in all likelihood because we aren't coached well enough. His intentions are noble, his execution is off. Nothing insincere about that.

The idea of copying Sir Alex, hoping that mediocre Ole (the manager) will turnout to be Sir Alex 2.0

He's a Yes Man. He's a Sockpuppet.

Ole is thankful to even be in the job and is basically Woodward's fan-friendly mouthpiece. Whatever the owners want him to say, he'll say. He's basically their human shield because his time as a player built him a goodwill account with the fans and he gets a pass. Once they've used him up as much as possible and the fans are no longer sated by the bullshit that comes out of his mouth, the owners will dispose of him. Simple as that.

Sockpuppet.

Agreed. Give it another year or 2. Ole will be gone, just be patient.

I'd love to see any manager get results from Fred, Pereira, Mata and lingard as his creative axis.

You can't turn shit into strawberry smoothie.

Ole is the least of the problems right now. The systematic mismanagement is the root cause and until that abscess is removed, any manager will end up with the same date.

I don't care about intentions, only actions what matters in football. He is not good enough, full stop. He himself knows that, he is not stupid to think that he is a quality manager who can take us to the next level, he is here at the club because he is just buying time by saying we are in a process. He wants to sit on that chair as long as possible before the club sack him. I am very disappointed in him.

I don't know what's inside his mind any more than you do, but my hunch is that he believes he'll come good and things will fall into place. I assume most managers that get a job in a top league think like that. And many turn out to be off with their self-appraisal.

This sums up the shit storm we are in since the glaziers took over. No need to complicate the issue further.

Not many managers get parachuted at a top job like that. Usually former players get their trade straight away like Pep or Zidane.

Managers that were plying their trade in Norway for a decade and relegated Cardiff in the process usually don't get a sniff at a top job.

He'll stay until he's sacked and receive a fat compensation for his services. I doubt he things he will turn things around, he's just enjoying the ride.

And how do you know the shit performances we see are the players and not lack of coaching or suitable system? Lingard was a different player under LVG and had some effective moments under Mourinho. Pereira was always mediocre but Ole chose to keep him.

A good coach makes average players look better. Ole's made a few players look worse.

Ole is the problem that we can solve now. Why people do not want to accept that? We can not sit here watch the team sitting in the 10-15th positions for 11 weeks and do nothing when the first step we should do is sack the manager and put a temporary replacement till the end of the season if no good permanent option is available. We cant just sit here and cry about our squad that we cant do anything about until 2020.

What 5 years my friend? They sacked a manager who had won the double last season, had a 70% win rating and had lost only 8 matches in 65 in all competitions since the start of his tenure. We are still waiting for the invisible plan to manifest itself and for Longstaff and Rice to save our midfield.

Mind you though, this is also a lesson for the people who claim that Mourinho should have been given more funds because he finished 2nd.

One of the reasons that Niko Kovac lost his job was because you can't sell the board of Bayern Munich fairytales about long-term plans that will come to fruition after x, y or z years of absolute dire performances. Take into consideration that Bayern Munich are also in a rebuilding phase themselves which makes it look even worse for Woodward and Solskjaer. Another reason is that despite the fact that he was able to win all domestic titles, it never looked that Bayern were progressing much under his guidance.

If I'm wearing a rubbish pair of jeans and drop some ketchup on it, I'm not going to leave the ketchup and say "I look bad anyway this ketchup isnt the only problem". I would fix what I can there and then and wipe it off.

Weird analogy, but some are suggesting "oh he's not the biggest issue at the club so let's just leave it. Why change". Its the only way I can explain how silly that logic would be.

Moyes, LvG, Mourinho and now Ole have tried to work with this squad of players at some point. All very successful in their coaching at other clubs who failed to a certain extent with this group. There's certainly a debate to be had to say the players are simply not at the standard required to be successful at a club of United's stature. I'm not saying Ole is a brilliant coach, mind. Results and performances have not been great to suggest Ole has been successful. However, there's a lot of collectives going wrong at the club, and to point fingers exclusively at Ole is not right or fair.

No one told him to spend 80m on Maguire instead of paying for a midfielder or a forward after letting go of Fellaini, Herrera and Lukaku. He chose to reinforce the defense on the expense of both midfield and attack. It's his own problem.

I am sure the keep Ole brigade is also intelligent but do not want to accept it for emotional reasons. The main reason why our squad is so poor is due to Ole.
Everyone now says that most teams in the PL has better players than us. OK, why didn't Ole try to get those players who are better than what we have?
Why did he tilt at windmills? If he is waiting as he says for the world class players to come to United then he is delusional and needs to be sacked for being delusional.
He should have got better midfield players than what we have for sure but seeing what is going on the pitch I do not think it would not make much difference as he is a very incompetent coach.
He needs to go now before further damage is done. Looking at our fixtures, I think we will win against Partizan and Brighton at OT. I am not sure about Sheffield United away though. We will probably win enough to keep in his job and flounder in mid table till the end of the season.

Was watching Sunday Supplement... according to John Cross Emery, who hasn’t taken the club backwards, deserves to get sacked. But United are 12 in the table because of Mourinho and not Solskjær who has been the club for 11 months now and Ole needs 3 more transfer windows. But when you listen to them talk about Ole you can tell none of them believe a word they’re saying.

Honestly don’t think so about the intelligence part.

An Ole in guy replied to me about Ole is targeting a specific quality of players and Leicester might be doing good but their players are not good enough for us. I replied that we signed a CB from Leicester for £80m in the summer just past, think he’s still googling

Amazing( well maybe not really) how our former players still defend Ole. Gary, Rio, Scholes, Schmeichel..."it is not him. Players to blame. Give him time. Squad is shit".

And i am looking what fans and journos write. 6th spot is good and some average players are adored because they show passion. Something which should be a must for every player.
Bloody hell, our standards today are low as it gets. In one year we have gone from "only title challenge is good" to "top 6 is good".
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is PR maschine. How he fooled everybody is a masterstroke.

That’s it for me. The squad is baaaaad, but he’s had it since December ‘18. He’s known our midfield options, he saw Fellaini and Herrera leave, Matic needing to be put out of his misery at the soonest opportunity. We can’t afford missteps like that, and his mistakes will need to be rectified by the next manager. It’s awful to witness it.

Ole will be good as a DOF, he has a sense for transfers. But as manager, i dont think soo.

How about his sense for giving new contracts to the likes of Mata and Pereira?

I'm OK with the three players he bought, but that's nowhere near enough to make someone a good DOF.
