Both have been as terrible as Ole and they need to be sacked. What we see on the pitch indicates non existent coaching or any kind of work on training ground and they as responsible for this as Ole.
You may be right, but maybe they are being undermined and overruled by Old School Ole and Phelan? Whatever, they’re doing neither the team nor themselves any favours by saying around as things are.

His post game quotes lately went from United level manager to Cardiff level manager.
Fighting for top 6 plan, the fact that he doesn't realise how bad we are, the fact how he thinks that we didn't deserve to lose, the fact that he thinks that we had our chances and my favourite( if this is true quote);
“We have two more points than in the same games last season. So it’s not all that bad.” Bloody hell, it is Cardiff manager mentality all over

At the start of the season I called Ole as having 15 games before judgement. I think that now is very much a reality. To take us to that mark we have Liverpool(h), Norwich(a), Bournemouth(a), Brighton(h), Sheff United(a), Villa(h) and Spurs(h) - he'll need a bare minimum of 15 points out of 21 from these games to avoid the chop IMHO. At least 4 of those 7 teams are bottom fodder and Liverpool aside all of them should be winnable.

I think the club (the board and Ed) appointed Ole with the belief he was the right man for the rebuild, and told him he'll get time, more time than the others. This was probably done after our winning streak, and everyone was on a high. After all, the results were amazing. They could fool anyone really. And it looks like they did.
Ole acting on this ripped up the squad, sold key players, although not good enough, but it has backfired phenomenally. Results are atrocious, we play like shit, and it looks like the players are starting to doubt Ole and or themselves. Ole knows this, and the club knows. We are plummeting towards the bottom of the table. Something has to give. My guess is he gets untill Christmas sto stem the bleeding. If no improvements by then, the board need to act in order to avoid relegation.

As soon as injuries struck this season was going to be hard - but this is taking the piss. I hope they give him until the end of October, if he's not turned it around, start chasing Poch. These two are in a race to see who get's sacked first.

You say you didn't mention abuse and in the next post you say this to a post which mentions he'd deserve abuse. Sounds legit.
I said I did not abuse him, but if the fans would do that, then it is understandable.

He actually said that last bit?

Tell me something, do you feel more sorry for him who is pocketing millions of pounds for being bad at his job, or for someone who spared money for many months to buy flight tickets and game tickets to come and watch that garbage show at OT?

Do fans not realise that Ole has taken a bullet for this club?

Do you all really think Ole wanted to let Herrera, Lukaku, Sanchez, Fellaini etc...leave the club knowing full well we most likely wouldn’t be able to replace them?

Ole knew full well what was going to happen. The man spent his playing career with the likes of Keane, Van Nistelrooy, Ronaldo, Rooney, Scholes, Giggs etc...etc....do you honestly believe he looked at Greenwood, Pereira, Chong, Fred, Mata and thought “yeah....these lads are champions!”

We all asked for a clear-out. We are getting one. Unfortunately, being a for-profit club owned by shareholders we were never ever going to spend £400m+ in one window. If you thought eight would leave and eight would come in, you’re seriously not learning anything from the previous 15yrs of our current ownership

So don’t you all see the point I am making? Do we think a senior manager like Pochettino, Allegri or Conte would have stood for the club selling Lukaku on deadline day? Do you think they would have let eight senior players go with just one senior player and two kids signed in the Summer? Of course not! And what would have been the result? Another season spent battling for top six with no hope for real change.

You’ve got to appreciate what the club are doing currently. 15yrs of bad decisions cannot be undone in one window. So what if we finish 10th this year? Is that any worse than 6th or even 4th for Manchester United?

The football is poor but we’re having to take our medicine now to build the foundations of a much more positive future

I’m not worried about falling to 10th for season if there is genuine change in our approach but right now our form for the last half season is relegation form.

You don’t let a club like Manchester Utd drift towards the bottom third of the league.

We said the same during Mourinho era too, that they were undermined by him. Maybe they are just terrible at their job?

No, it's not.
Being booed and abused on social media is part of the job in modern day football especially in gigantic clubs like us, why every other manager in the World get that, but not Ole? It his fecking job. If he or his apologists are snowflakes and cant handle that, then he is at the wrong job mate.

Oh great when talks ends up with apologists and fanboys stuff. Great stuff mate.
And I don't care about social media, it's a cesspool anyway.

They were only working under Jose for a few months, during which time he was in meltdown. The football had been terrible since around the previous Christmas.

If they’d been appointed earlier then I’d fully agree with you. And I’m certainly not disagreeing that they need to move on!

Club legends have no right to ruin the club because they were legends, and if they hold on their jobs which is bringing the club supported by 600m people around the world "becuase it is their dream job" and will not leave the club until the clubs is relegated, then No, they should be ashamed of their selves and their status as legends is no longer important.

You see in the future? What are the lottery numbers?
Thats all on you, you don't care about club legends much it seems.

Robin van Persie has criticised Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the wake of Manchester United’s defeat to Newcastle United and has questioned whether the 46-year-old knows how to improve the confidence of his players.

United lost their third game in the Premier League this season at St James’ Park on Sunday as Matty Longstaff’s goal in the 72nd minute sealed a much-needed victory for Steve Bruce’s side.

For United, the defeat has left them with just nine points from their opening eight games, while Solskjaer’s side are looking short of ideas in attack, scoring just three goals in their last six matches.

After the defeat to Newcastle, Solskjaer highlighted his need to improve the spirit in his squad.

‘It’s my responsibility. I need to sort their heads out,’ said the United manager.

‘Young boys lacking confidence, they need some help from experienced players and staff.’

But Van Persie has criticised Solskjaer’s post-match interview and suggests the players at Old Trafford could begin to question him after hearing his statements to the media.

‘You can see here’s struggling there, if I’m really honest, during that interview,’ Van Persie told Optus Sport.

‘And I get it if you’re manager of Manchester United during this period of time.

‘So he’s searching for words, maybe he chose a few wrong ones there.

‘Because as a player, what does that mean, ‘sorting the players’ heads out’, what does that mean?

‘If you’re a player you’re a little bit like, ‘my head is fine’.

‘Even though you can see the players are low in confidence, he needs to find a way to reconnect again and to get their confidence high.

‘As a manager, when you’re team is low in confidence get them up, when your team is too high in confidence, when they are becoming a little bit too much, you have to get them back to the middle again.

‘At the moment, based on this interview, and based on what I’ve seen in the game, I’m not sure if he really knows how to find the buttons there.’

I agree with this.

Ole should be replaced before Liverpool if possible. The club should be doing everything in its power to find a replacement and hire new coaches.

The player issue we can address in January.

Our financial machine is now grinding to a halt compared to Liverpool and City. Both of those will probs surpass us in the next year or 2 for revenue.

Sad when we think how far we were in front of the chasing pack. There isn’t even a difference anymore and we still have an old stadium to boot. We used to be a great club now we are one of the pack unfortunately thanks to our owners.

They worked under Mourinho for about 6 months, then under Ole for 8 months or so and nothing has changed. I honestly don't see why they will get undermined by Ole, especially if the guy is following the Fergie school who was letting his assistants having a big role in coaching the team.

I think they are just doing nothing tbh especially Carrick. Nothing on the pitch shows any glimpses of training sessions being done which are the role of the assistant coaches mostly.

Though of course we don't know what is happening behind the scenes. I just don't see anything with them.

With Ole it is like someone watching a guy getting a beating, but being to scared to interven

Not sure he will be got rid off. The drop off in form when we got loads of injuries last season should have been a warning about squad quality. It has been made even worse with this transfer window. Yes Ole has to take some blame for that, but I would presume he was promised that the departing players would be replaced and they haven't. The one worry I seriously have is the inability to correct things during the game by him and his coaches. I think he is right to do the selling of deadwood, but in the long term not too sure he will be able to take us further. I think he will get to the end of the season unless it spirals out of control further.

It's not. Some twats do that but it's not part of the job.

I don't think he'll get time till Christmas. It different than Moyes or Jose, we're declining but not at this rate. Can we see if us score any goals at all? At this rate, we'll be around relegation places in just 2-3 games and get eliminated in group stage in EL. If we want to retain any hope for this season, he has to sort things out quickly. Though I think it has already reached the point of no return for Ole, we could wait till Christmas for Jose as we're still in the top half of the table, in Ole's case I can't see any him turning it around.

By finishing 6th, Moyes opened up a can of worms that shifted the mindset of the club from it being unacceptable not winning the title to it being okay finishing 4th.

He completely destroyed a pillar of the club.

This allowed managers such as Van Gaal and Mourinho to say we in transition.

Now Solskjaer has taken things to a new level. Now suddenly we're in a position where finishing 6th would be considered good? This could open another can of worms that is difficult to manage.

As much as I like Ole, he has to moved on (ideally move on himself).

The only way the club can salvage the season is by going in hard in January's transfer window.

You really think Ole has no input on who we're selling, who we're loaning etc?

What do you think he is? Mascott?

Nothing is Ole's fault according to his apologists

I thought they'd start to see what we've been seeing for a while after losing to a Newcastle side managed by Steve Bruce... but no. Maybe penny will drop when we are actually in bottom 3 which is a real possibility by mid-November.

Agreed, the standards. have been lowered. What can we realistically do in January though that will make much difference?

At least buy a striker ffs.
any will do.
Anyway it's not the point of waiting till top 4 is out of reach what Ed likes to wait but escaping relegation. I hope that he won't wait for it to be mathematically possible.

Who though? Trust me, I'm all for strengthening the squad but January is always a nightmare.

It's like groundhog day. Everyone's bleating about the manager but this mess extends far, far beyond him. Changing him for someone else will achieve the square root of feck all.

I feel for him, he was handed a poisoned chalice inheriting a squad which was already not fit for purpose and then having to deal with it being further weakened and only partially supported with incomings. My hope was that Fred would come in to his own and form that base from which everything could flow but he just hasn't.

I still fully back Ole, as I can see what he's building towards and I don't think a manager change will accomplish anything. The Glazers seem to think every manager they hire can work under the same restrictions as SAF did. Even when they loosen those restrictions, it only lasts for a season or two before the same issues arise again and again. The same will happen under Poch or whoever else comes in next.

The sooner everyone comes to the realisation that we're shit, the better. Forget that we're Man Utd, forget top 4 or even top 6, and just focus on building this squad up from ground zero. Give the manager (whether it's Ole or whoever) time to rebuild, accept that we'll have lows as well as highs and see where we are after 2-3 seasons. Cos this just isn't a simple fix. Ole needed to be backed much, much more extensively and he wasn't. This is the legacy of that decision in the summer.
