Nothing against Ole, but he shouldn't be managing outside of his usual gig at Molde.

Molde won't touch him. They're cakewalking their way towards the title playing far more attacking football than they ever were under him. They've moved on.

Another soundbite from him post-game:

"If you only work on sunny days you'll never get to your destination."

He comes across a bit David Brent-like at times.

Haha.

Gutted for him. He must be wishing he'd stayed away and forever stayed a club legend .

For some reason you get the feeling he's been told he has this season whatever happens though..

Yeah after he left the foundations for them.

He hasn’t improved a player.

If we’re not going to have radical transfer windows we need a manager that can train players to better themselves. OgS is not that manager & his staff aren’t pulling a Queiroz either.

He can’t even blame the injuries. We were just as bad when we had a half decent side last season.
He’s an atrocious manager.
His whole back room staff need to go too. Carrick, McKenna, Phelan all of them have showed nothing.

Who will replace him if gets the boot? Not sure any new manager will instantly improve us with this squad. Moreover, it is certain that Ed will feck up next appointment as well. If Ole leaves, Ed needs to go as well. The club is not recovering until this “pick a random manager” approach ends.

Who would you guys appoint to replace him at this stage of the season? Are there clear favorites?

At the end of the season, there is chance for Poch but who would you replace him with right now?
Allegri and give him some cash to spend in Jan , it won't be any worse from here. If we have full fit squad it's not too difficult to guide us into top 6 minimum.

What we feared happened guys.

We're officially in relegation fight now. 2 points above first relegation spot and next loss to Liverpool will put us in 18th or just above it by one or 2 spots by one point or so.

Congratulations Ole and Woodward.
This is what happens when standards are allowed to slip and with this mish mash of players I don't see us surfing a relegation battle if Ole is allowed to inflict further damage. A loss to Liverpool and that should be it but honestly speaking a big club would sack him tonight and allow the salvage job to commence at Anfield.

Would you mind summarising what he said? Or the part that suggests he might know he's gone?

I do wonder if there's any chance that that was his last game.

Taken from the bbc site which has used the same interview, he then did go on to say he and the board know the direction we are going in erm yes does down count as a direction?

'I need to sort their heads out'

Newcastle 1-0 Man Utd

Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, speaking to Sky Sports: "We're disappointed. We did lack quite a few key players but that's no excuse. The players worked hard and ran their socks off but at the moment we're in a place we're not used to. Some of the boys lack a little bit of composure and we don't create enough chances to win a game of football.

"They stay together as a team but we don't create.

"Luckily for us it's now the international break. We get time to evaluate what's gone on over these eight games. We will sit down, hopefully we'll get a few players back. It's my responsibility. I need to sort their heads out. Young boys lacking confidence - they need some help from experienced players and staff.

"They're human and they want to do well. They need to see the results of their hard work and we're not getting those results so that's going to affect them.

"The first half was the sloppiest we've been. In the second half we dominated but we didn't create.

"We've not changed a lot. We've played the same way and stuck to our principles. The players are working hard. We've had six out from the Chelsea game and that's going to affect results. But we'll work hatd and get the quality back."

'It will take however long it will have to take'

More from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, speaking to Sky Sports: "It will take however long it will have to take. It's a journey we've started on and the culture is getting there. I can't give you any time but we're getting there. We've given ourselves a big, big uphill challenge to get among the top four but it's tight and we need to get a run together.

"We've come together and discussed the direction we're going. If you only work on sunny days you'll never get to your destination. We'll have these days but we know where we want to get to."

Fair play to Neville for calling out the board, I dont agree with give Ole time but finally someone questions the board

What do they work on at training? It's been clear from the last few seasons that we play at far too slow a pace. I can't believe that managers are setting us up to play this way.

Culture ? Transforming our culture to a relegation fodder one ?

We thought he spouted that optimistic garbage because he had to. But it seems he believes in what he is saying.

He's right, but equally when you hear him talking about the things that he likes about this United side and all it is to do with is personnel, nothing to do with how we are playing.

I was firmly in the ole stay camp.
But after the last 2 weeks injuries or not the performances are just unacceptable.
It breaks my heart seeing us this bad and though it pains me to say it,we need to pull the trigger I just can't see him turning it around.
I genuinely feel bad saying it.

Luckily for us it's the international break Ole! I used to hate the two weeks from football, now I'm relishing it.

This would have been the classic "embarrassment" a year ago, but now looks pretty interesting for this season.

Roll on him doing well, and we have another decision to make though!
Nothing embarrassing imo, and ive experienced the saf/wenger rivalry from the start. the mans class and we could do a lot, lot worse for a caretaker. I don't expect him to immediately turn us into Barca or the Invincibles, but at the very least he'd teach our boys how to play football again, how to pass more than 3 times to each other without looking laboured, and hopefully make the game enjoyable again for them.

I think so too, but we're showing genuine relegation form at the minute.

The board must be concerned.

Realistically we are sticking with Ole until the end of the season.

Results can only improve from here once we get back our injured players.

Top 4 is a distant hope, but its not unrealistic.

I think most of us just want to see some decent attacking football for a change.

The silver lining is that even with our decimated defence, we are still conceding very little. Its amazing considering how poor our midfield is at protecting too.

Forget top 4. Be concerned about relegation

Lost faith in him, but who can we honestly bring in now that will benefit us in the long term? This season is fecked anyways, but we really need someone who can think 2-3 years ahead and not just the next game
We are in no situation to think 2-3 years ahead, we are in crisis. We need to make sure we don't get relegated. Ole is not turning this around. At this point, any manager with some experience and credentials who can get us organized and gives us some potency upfront to save us from dropping near relegation places will do.
