Even if we could sack Ole and get Pep, he wouldn't be able to turn things around. The changes that need to be made are of a much higher level than just the managers. We need a complete restructuring of the ones leading the football side of our club.

Our board mainly needs to be made up of both commercially motivated and football motivated directors. Another option would be for the Glazers to distance themselves from the management of the club and let others do it for them.

this is clearly what they were hoping Ole would be, not looking very likely at present.

It's also what they thought David Moyes would be. That was the plan all along in 2013, and that stupidity backfired and caused the shambles we're experiencing ever since.

The only way out of this slide is for the Glazers to accidentally stumble on a completely unheralded young manager who is happy to not be backed in the window and proves to be the second coming of Klopp. Which I'm sure youll agree, is highly unlikely to happen.

Would have probably got Klopp if we didn't have that Toy Story puppet in charge of Football matters.

Nothing wrong in installing a caretaker manager when you sack your manager in December.....But it’s utterly idiotic to give the caretaker manager the job full time on the basis of 15 games...,I still can’t come to terms with that decision.....We had just lost back to back games, the wheels were beginning to roll off and bang,we announce Ole as the full time manager!!

Yeah it was such a knee jerk reaction based on the emotion of that PSG result when we really should have given ourselves more time to make the decision.

Do we need other changes at boardroom level & a change of direction transfer wise? Yes.

Does that mean we stick with a majorly failing manager with no signs of improvement or an identity being established ? No

Yes, very easy to see. When the board has a horrendous history of hiring bad managers you don't trust them to get the next one right. Ed and board should be our only target. Then everything will fall into place.

We are already in the bottom half of the table. Not even Moyes was this incompetent. Yes he had a much better team and he fecked it but we win most of the time when he was the manager.
I really can't see us winning against Arsenal.

At this point of the season we have the same amount of points as Van Gaal did in his first season.

We all know where this saga is going, to a dark place.

Problem is, nothing will change. Ole will be sacked and Ed will then have to sell a 8th-10th place Man United, probably minus Pogba, to a new manager. New manager will look at the state of us and say "I'm interested but only if you give me a LOT of money because I need a CDM, a midfielder, a RW, a Pogba replacement and a striker".

Ed will promise him the world, he'll sign and then by the time the window closes we'll have signed 2/5 players that the manager needed and things will go downhill yet again. The new manager will start griping when results start sliding, to protect his own interests, morale will be rock bottom and new manager is fired. Rinse and repeat.

Well said. And then the new.manager will also fail and then we will have 100 pages of theories on his that manager should also be sacked. Like you say "Rinse and Repeat"

Nothings ever the same but for some reason our board is the worst board of al time. I just don’t believe it.

£800 million or so spent since SAF and Gill left, yet we have a squad that barely has enough quality to get top 6, and have a manager who doesn't has absolutely no credentials to be in the job he's in, it's pretty impressively bad.

I'm not saying there aren't clubs out there with worse 'boards', but we must run them close, and I doubt the other ones would just keep the same people/person running things on the back of such failings.

At this point of the season we have the same amount of points as Van Gaal did in his first season.

To be fair, Van Gaal joined straight after a World Cup, and genuinely had to implement an actual technical philosophy (albeit a very boring one), onto a group of players that had just had Moyes and then Giggs coaching them...

In those first 7 games he also played -

Arsenal - draw
Chelsea - 1-0 loss
City - win

And defeated City 4-2

He then went on a 5 game winning streak, which included victories over Liverpool and Spurs.

OGS has had a far easier run of games after coaching the team for 6 months previously and having a full pre-season.

The last 14 games in the League have United in 14th place. This slide continues and we'll be battling relegation. It's alright saying have patience in the process but how bad will it have to get before somethings done. Some people, (rio ferdinand) seem to think it's just about the start to this season but it's not. There is no signs of improvement. The football is no better to watch than under Mourinho.

Explain to me how you spend £800m but it’s your fault. Infact explain to me how you loan someone money but you are to blame for how they spend it?

He didnt play any of those teams in his first seven matches.
Van Gaals first seven premier league opponents:
Swansea
Sunderland
Burnley
QPR
Leicester
West Ham
Everton.
This is whilst United had an attack of: RVP,Falcao,Rooney,Mata, Di Maria, Wilson (lol)
Both quality and numbers available.
He also did have a full pre season, we won all the matches including one against Real Madrid, we all got very giddy.

Not sure what you mean? When you say 'your', and 'loan someone', or we talking about Woodward?

You said we spent £800m and have a crap squad. So we are saying the money wasn’t spent wisely. So who is to blame for that? The players we brought are who the managers wanted.

So if you’re the board and you are giving funds for the manager for spend. Considering we have no DOF making decisions who is to blame?

Who is Ole better than in the Prem?

Honest question? I think there’s so many managers in the Prem who with less money & resources that have developed an identity & style of play which Ole hasn’t.

Farke
Howe
Rogers
Potter

All better managers than Ole.

Why are we, the biggest club in England settling so much?

He’s a lower Championship level manager

Your point is only partly valid, as we do not know that all the players bought post Fergie were manager choices, and not big names for the clubs 'brand', ADM, Sanchez, and Falcao would be names that spring to mind, but even if this is the case it has been the same decision makers bringing these managers in, so surely the buck stops with them still?

As has been said several times if we got a top DOF in to buy a certain type of player, which would then lead to a certain style of play evolving at the club, then sacking the manager wouldn't such a major upheaval every time we do it, LvG didn't like the players he had so sold half the squad, and replaced them with players that didn't work, Jose come in didn't like alot of those players (many of who are better than what we have now), sold them, replaced them withe players Ole didn't like, etc, if we now sack Ole and get Poch it'll be the same again.

We are amateurish in the extreme, but there is a potential solution there we refuse to try, because money enough has been spent, and likely will be again.

Agreed I’d blame the board with hiring rubbish managers. The brand player stuff I don’t follow as no one logically would refuse those signings. As for a DoF.. they can’t pick a manager so i don’t believe they’d pick a DOF who would sign the right players.

We have a transfer committee right now scouting Longstaff and Rice and they think this is acceptable.

What is so good about each of those team's 'identity and style of play'?

I watched Norwich against City, they fluked it due to City's terrible defending (can Pep not 'coach' a defence?) and have lost 2-0 twice since.
Brighton Newcastle last week was an awful 0-0.
Rodgers created nothing against us.
Bournemouth concede goals for fun (can't 'coach' a defence?)

I'm betting you've seen highlights of their best results this season and assume that they play like that for 90 minutes every game.

Apologies read results the wrong way.

Though I would maintain that taking over a new squad after a World Cup and actually implementing a technical brand of footy is a vastly different challenge to OGS continuing from last season while playing counter attack / kick and rush footy is very different.

And I don't say this as a particular fan of LvG, just think it's fair.

This is facts, Ole right down there with Bruce as the worst managers in the league.

Great question and a valid one also...

If people are suggesting that OGS has a more difficult job than managers like Bruce, Farke, Potter, Hasenhutl etc then they're insane - or very biased.

OGS has been given the opportunity of a lifetime here, and just had 160m pumped into his defense - while having Martial, Pogba, Rashford and James in his squad.

To answer the question from OP, I genuinely believe Solksjaer is a League 1 level coach - he was relegated from the PL with Cardiff, and then sacked after failing in Championship.

In the YEARS since then - no Championship side came for him, and obviously no PL side either.

And I don't say that to insult him - it isn't a statement against him as a personality or as a club Legend.

And I'd further the question to - if OGS was let go by United, what PL side would employ him...?

Comedy. When you ignore facts what kind of players Ole got and the state of club right now.

If you take what you base your opinion on you could state that pretty much every manager in the world is better then Ole. Because we are ”richest” club in world despite our economy is not that great as people think. Just read annual reports.

Just curious. What kind of style have those managers you mentioned? And that ”style” you are talking about, is it good winning style?

Why don't you answer the question he posed before asking your own?

Because I think it is ridiculous question. Mourinho and vanGaal were far better managers then lot of guys managing teams in Premier League but still couldn't do what we hoped for. Are they worse then those four he mentioned because they failed despite buying half of the world?

I am saying Ole is our next legendery manager? Not at all, but all this wichhunt on a guy that is doing well with the squad he has is to much.
