He doesnt have a clue in regards to in game mgt.

But you can see what he wants in a team and squad. He's shifting players that dont suit.

Im not sure its his fault we didnt buy a rw, forward and at least one midfielder so i cant blame him for that.

Wouldnt be surprised if he's sacked by xmas all the same.

31 points in the next 23 games, if we continue the trend we will end between 5-60 points for the season which will put us around #6-8 on the table.
 
I love the "individual mistakes" excuse. Using that logic, no manager in history is at fault for their failures as in almost all cases the players could have done better.
 
No one is available to replace him that I want. Best to keep him and tell him to improve results or he will be sacked by Christmas.

Ole role at the club needs to change though. From manager of the club to being part of the transfer committee. Yes, it is a huge demotion, but Ole transfer activity looks much better than our last previous manager. He might not accept such a role, but it is better than going back to a nobody league and managing Molde.
 
It’s relegation form, and we only put up with the same form towards the end of last season because we were promised a massive cull and summer rebuild which never materialised.

I blame Woodward and the Glazers first and foremost, but I’m seriously doubting Ole will last the season. They’ll just sack him in December, appoint another patsy and the cycle of false promises will start all over again.

Thing is, I wouldn't mind matic coming on but he needed to do that earlier at 1 nil
Could see we were being over run so why not get an extra body there especially with Pereira being shit.

His subs are almost Moyes like

Squad is too thin, players are too young,inexperienced,average,inconsistent. It does look like the inevitable..again.

What sums us up, 15 Years ago a Rashford would come in a team that is establish for him to get experience. Now he's the main man and we reliant on him. We just too reliant on players that aren't good enough yet.

Maybe there would be progress if we did a proper job in the summer. He’s relying on Pereira, Greenwood, Young, McT, Matic and Mata......

He’s cleared most of the deadwood out but needed 5 players in and it just didn’t happen.
 
Unless there is a change of manager, poor results and performances like today will continue to happen throughout the season. He is clearly out of his depth. The board has clearly jumped the gun and got too ahead of themselves.

Questions will now certainly be asked as to how the board picked ole gunnar solskjaer over Laurent blanc at the time we needed a experienced, competent, professional and capable caretaker manager when jose mourinho was sacked.

I fully understand blanc wanted the job full time and was not interested in taking over on the basis as a interim or caretaker. However the club should of persisted and pushed its boundaries to hire him. ogs is far too inexperienced and incapable of managing a massive club like manchester united. He should have never been appointed in the first place unfortunately.
 
Given many people can see what he wants to do, the players he fancies, the ones he shifts, he might actually be more suited to a DoF than Manager :D
 
Ole is a symptom of the bigger issue; This club now has zero ambition. The facts are Mourinho wasn’t backed two summers ago, we hired a replacement management team that wouldn’t look out of place in the championship, we’ve got rid of our high earners, we haven’t replaced those high earners and our net spend has been low the last few years for an underachieving club with our resources.

If the club had ambition we would have paid the 30m to get Pochetino and given him whatever he needed to fix this club. We didn’t do that because there’s no will to spend what’s required to do that. Sacking Ole now isn’t going to achieve anything, the problem is much deeper. We will continue on this downward spiral until the owners and their incompetent puppet Woodward leave.

Let's also not forget that one of the reasons we struggled so badly with signings in the summer is that very few players are enthralled at the prospect of playing here under Ole.

They can see the writing on the wall.
 
When Jose was going through a rough patch, thought LVG should have given enough time. Now I am thinking, we should have given Jose more time. Thats how bad things are.

Sack him, promote him as dof. Bring a proper manager in. He is clueless.
 
Louis van Gaal and Jose were hired after modern football left them behind and they were shadows of their past. Solskjaer seems to be a Moyes situation all over again, a man whos clearly out of his depth.

The Matic sub is the one that I really question. Lingard I get, even though he's in bad form. It made sense to put him on as he is still an attacking player and maybe he had something to prove after being benched. Greenwood I also get because, again, an attacking player.

Matic added nothing and was a waste of a sub. Maybe the thinking was to put Matic on to then move Pogba further forward, but I didn't really see that translate onto the pitch. I would have personally kept Mata on as he was one of the more likelier players to unlock that Southampton defence, especially when they were down to 10.

The question is: did the subs have a positive impact on the game? Answer is a resounding no. Our subs don't improve our performance.

You’re mental if you think we’ve created a lot, or just forgotten what it’s like to watch good football. Those Rashford chances were half chances at best. AWB was offside.

The chances we had were pretty much all self made, ie Greenwood, Young. Says it all that Southampton has a man sent off and all we thought of doing was smashing balls into the box, pretty much making it irrelevant that they have a player less.

But yes, upgrade 3 of the front 6 and we have a decent team just like most of the top 10 in the Premier League. Problem is we haven’t.
 
It was obvious last season that he is not good enough. Why wait with sacking? Sure, sacking manager sometimes is not solution but sometimes it is. Like now. If he gets whole season i am not sure that we will be in top 10. Same goes if we will wait until Christmas.

The coming game with Leicester will be more difficult than the one today. Ole will be given time but the team looks a bit lost against deep sitting opposition. Their keeper had 2 routine saves in the last 25 minutes when they were playing with a man less. Soton were a bit naive in their approach in the first half and left huge spaces for counter attacks. We look quality mostly when counter attacking.
 
We play Leicester, West Ham and Arsenal in Sept. On current form none of those games look winnable. Gone by October?
 
Hope the post match interviewers ask who played in front of Bissaka in the second half?
No balanced width and to play two sitting midfielders why?
I'm sure hell be disappointed that we never took chances but is he really supprised with how all regular personell have performed in the past three years.
To let the players go who he did in this window and not replace the buck stops at Ole.
Wait for it not clinical enough
 
If he keeps fielding the likes of Andres, lingard and pogba deep then he'll be gone soon.

No. If you kill games off at half time like Liverpool and City, it just brings teams onto you for the attack or its damage limitation for them and they play deep. Our problem is scoring, not defending...

I don't rate ole, but smalling had to go. He had been nothing short of a disaster and it seems that we want to remember the good of smalling when there was a lot of things wrong with his game. He was an average center back that made us average as well. Direct your anger at lindolof, but don't pretend that smalling would make us better.

Then don't let them go [and especially dont push them out] until you have a solid plan to replace/improve. That's on the manager surely for sanctioning such sales and deciding he'll 'make do' until the right one becomes available?

I'm no fan of woodward, but I'm quite sure he's not forcing such sales.

Well Lingard only play last 20 minutes against 10 men Southampton, and he still managed to be our worst player on the pitch, with some shocking decision making and first touch.
