The board haven't back our managers for the last 2 summers as a minimum. It's no coincidence the following seasons haven't worked out. Still no DoF. Still Woodward in charge. Still abysmal football.

WOODWARD OUT.
The manager has given a British players profile which are a) much more expensive than continental options and b) concentrating only on defence would leave you short on other important areas.

And c) when you spend 140m pounds on CB and RB and sell your CF at deadline day without buying a replacement this is what you get.

Bad plan. Bad profiling. Bad strategy. Overconfident with kids. Bad preparation leads to what we see now.

Our problems run deeper than Ole. The fact of the matter is that we don't have any elite coaches. Ole isn't one, Carrick isn't one and Phelan isn't one. Combine that with an average group of players and you get what we have, shite. Nothing will change unless Woodward is removed from his role and the Glazers get the feck out of Manchester. It's really that simple.
Yup, our main problem is not Ole it is the following:

The Glazers > Woodward > our scouts > lack of strategy over the past years > the squad.

I do not think that any manager can do much more with this squad, they will always struggle to reach top four. It will be interesting to see if Ole gets continued support if he continues to win every fourth or fifth game. Do they still back his plan if we end up 6th and show little progress?

Are you blaming Ole for this summers transfer business? because im sure if it was down to him he would have signed a midfielder, right winger and striker.

Just like Jose would have signed Maguire last summer, the board have tightened the purse strings its no coincidence that we spent £50m net last year and £70m this.

When the board dont sign players for positions we need then we have no chance, it doesn't matter who the manager is.

Ole is on the right track. He's getting rid of the players we all want gone (Sanchez, Lukaku, Smalling, Jones, Young, Matic) whilst trying to give youth a go. If we would have signed a decent midfielder this summer along with a right winger we would comfortably have 9 points now.

It's easy to say drop Lingard. What are our options? Mata? play Matic? Fred? hardly fecking groundbreaking options. Maybe he should give Gomes a chance but again its relying on a young ( and also very small) player so its risky.
Ole gave him the targets and profiles. Even with low budget of 100m or whatever you can get plenty of available continental options that can improve you immensely and also have bigger squad at your disposal.

Also being overly confident in the youth players who are not ready also falls on the manager not Woodward.

Yes he should take significant blame for it. We have implemented a Brexit strategy which wasn’t characteristic for us and since Woodward has always been here that plan is down to the manager.

He didn’t sign winger, striker and midfielder because apparently we should rely on the kids for those positions.

Who is there to asses if the kids are ready ? Ole or Woodward?

Very true. We've just been unlucky. Players just need to be better, next game hopefully will be the start.

Nah we spent £70m net you cant do shit with that. He got in a much needed CB and RB.

If he signed a midfielder and no CB we would be playing Jones and he'd get slaughtered for not signing a defender so he's in a no win situation.

City needed a overhaul a couple of summers ago. They cut loose Clichy, Zabaleta, Kolarov, Hart, Fernando, Navas and probably more then rebuilt, they replaced every player.

Our method was to move like a turtle all summer, still not move on players that's been surplus to requirements for years and miss out completely on key signings for the starting 11 namely a midfielder, winger and striker once it was clear Lukaku was gone.

The transfers aren't Ole's fault, Maguire and AWB will be good signings and James is looking like a decent prospect, we just did half the job required.

He wanted Dybala and Eriksen.....you know 2 players that would instantly kick Lingard out the side but it wasn't to be so now we're stuck with Lingard and Mata in the AM role.

Your right it will carry on as long as long as the things in bold are not changed. No matter who the manager is.

He spent a lot of money on Cb and RB. Don’t give me that. Limiting our options to British players only ended up with really small list of options and no backups.

Lukaku being gone is also on him for not getting a replacement first. He could have refused to sell him and he is under contract. He spend the whole summer without preparing for a CF and now surprise surprise we’re short in attack.

Again don’t compare a clueless manager to a world class one who has won multiple accolades before getting the job.

I am not saying don’t sign a CB. I’m saying you can sign a CB for smaller package AND get another player if we’re really short on cash.

Because we needed those positions, you cant be this stupid?

Go on give me your big summer plan. You have £70m net to spend, tell me how Ole should have spent the cash.

He didn't limit it to british, it's fact we was after Dybala and Eriksen for a start so get rid of that stupid idea and stop reading the daily star ffs.

You're acting like he had a unlimited budget and just failed to get transfers in? you cant be serious?

We can not honestly be saying it's the managers problem again. Wake up people, the problem is Woodward. We've had 4 permanent managers and nothings changed, our poor form started with Woodward taking over, and consistently continued under. Woodward. I am in utter despair that people can't see this obvious truth and blame the managers.

Woodward out.

That still doesn’t explain why we lined up like an away team at OT. Why we struggled to create anything at all. It’s all well and good mulling over things but we should be dispatching teams like Palace at OT.
Lined up as an away team? Wtf. 70%posession and 20 odd shots. Maybe 3/4 on goal.. There was nothing wrong with tactical approach in this match. Braking down teams who stand of deep has been a problem for years, and it’s not going to get better over night. Maybe the January window can fix that, or someone will step up. But it sure isn’t a tactical flaw.

Won't shed a tear when he gets the inevitable sack. That's what you get for persisting with utter dross.

He's digging his own grave, he deserves to lie in it once the time comes.

So what happened to the pre season tour form? You’d think this high press, energetic system would be firing fresh at the beginning of the season?

Maybe its because pre season friendlies mean absolutely feck all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why on earth do people get excited about a 90min kickabout with absolutely nothing at stake????

When I played myself, one summer we had a friendly against the supposed worst team in the league, and drew 4-4. I remember thinking "feck, this season might end up being a nightmare if they've improved that much". One week later, we played them in the opening league fixture.

We beat them 22-0.

Which part of get two players for 80m one of which is CB instead of 1 you didn’t understand when you desperately need to fill multiple positions?

It is not my job to give you a plan. I’m not the manager.

So you'd go basement bin shopping to plug multiple holes in the squad? maybe instead of Maguire we should have signed Tyron Mings? instead of AWB we could have maybe got Zabaleta on a free and used the money on a midfielder? Danny Welbeck was out of contract we could have signed him then used the £20m we spent on James elsewhere.

instant treble winning side.

Get real. The board, just like last summer when Jose wanted Maguire didn't get the job done.

And the best part? they wont get it done next summer either so we'll all still be arguing why we are using x player in the squad instead of buying somebody new.

People fall for it every season. Bad pre-season the league is going to be a disaster. A great one and we are going to kick ass.

The board is the problem. Woodward isn't going anywhere. Doesn't change the fact that the manager the board selected (Ole), is not good enough.

I have mates of mine calling for his head already :wenger: I really do not understand that outlook. Whether you wanted him to be the man at the helm or not, he isn't going to be sacked for losing one game, albeit one we should have won.

We are a Europa league level team. The past few seasons have shown that. Anyone who says 'yeah but we're man united, we should be winning the league', need to look at our squad and give their heads a wobble at this stage.

We have lost midfielders and not replaced them. We sold Lukaku (rightly so in my eyes) but did not replace him either. We have no creativity in midfield apart from Pogba and we're going to be totally reliant on him again. We could have plugged those gaps in the squad this summer, but the inept board have failed once again.

This season is one for building and for giving minutes to younger players. We will lose a number of games this year, and we will finish between 4-7th.

Ole has this season to try and build some momentum and get the players at his disposal playing football. If we finish top 4 then it will be a success. If he doesn't then he might get the chop, but to call for him to go after 3 games into a season is utter madness. If we were going to replace him we could only have done so in the summer. Please accept it and get on with it.

I think it's going like this: A good pre-season will not guarantee a successful campaign. But a bad pre-season mostly guarantee a bad campaign. Look at our most recent pre-seasons and compared to our form in the following season after that. You will see.

It’s simple - you should not prioritise one line and completely forget about midfield and attack.

If you can’t address all - you should address each line to create a spine.

You do not know whether Ole didn’t come out and said youngsters will do the job like he did in his interviews.

According to him he was backed so he should take his blame for not performing.

It is not about that, look at the stats won only 3 in last 15 ffs what is this?

It's a new season, we've won one of the last 3 games and could have won them all. Also a point at wolves is a positive not a negative. We've lost points due to our own errors.

We lack some guile when facing a compact defence clearly but its just the beginning of Ole's rebuild, its nowhere near complete so inconsistency should be expected. We will win games we're not entitled to and we will lose games we 'should' win.

We now have one of if not the youngest teams in the league with the most acadamy graduates in it, no Fellaini, Lukaku, Sanchez, Jones or Smalling - is this not what we were all calling for??

It's happening, we need to be patient and get behind the team. A title challenge was never going to happen this year was it?

I'm still baffled how no one can see the best 3 teams in the league have the best 'managers'. I mean Jesus we lack investment and have a bunch of soft belly's in the team but for the love of god hire a top quality coach.

But you see where we'd be if that was the case? you have £70m to spend go and buy a RB, CB, 2 midfielders , Winger and Striker?

This is what im saying. it's not possible and if it was we'd end up with a squad full of Danny Welbecks.

We need quiality players. He's added 2 to 2 position we desperately needed. The board didn't get the job done its as simple as that, why you blame Ole for that i'll never know.

Get ready because guess what, it wont be fixed next summer either. Infact Pogba will more than likely go and leave even less cover in midfield and we'll sign 1 midfielder if we're lucky, so the good news is there's still gonna be plenty for you to complain about yipeeee!

Deaf, dumb, and blind is what those people are...

Then, in all honesty, he should have called the board out. Its HIS job on the line. Poch, Klopp, Pep all have their subtle ways of complaining. Ole "yes man" Solksjaer just comes out with the same old happy to be here garbage every week and look at the state of this sorry excuse of giant football club.

They're both the problem. Ole is out of his depth and it's Woodward's fault he's in the position.

No one is arguing our board is useless and does more harm than good. Their decision making in selecting the managers is baffling hence why we are in this mess. We had 4 managers. 2 of them are past it and 2 of them are out of their depth here. I don't blame Ole. He got an offer he couldn't refuse, he would have been stupid to reject it. It was just another masterpiece from Ed & Co to offer him a permanent job in March. Plain stupid decision.

Honestly, its his reputation on the line here. If he loves the club so much, he should speak out when he gets fired and tell the fans exactly what went on behind the scenes this summer - you know, the summer after we finished 6th. The summer in which we spent £70m when attempting to get back to 'where we belong'. The summer in which we sold one of the top-scoring PL strikers of all time (rightly so) and 'replaced him' with a 17yr old kid.

But he won't. He'll just come out with the usual clap-trap and take his loyalty bonus to keep his mouth shut like all the others. He'll take his payoff. The leaks will begin with the usual buzzwords - DOF; Warchest; due diligence. The season tickets will sell out. Rinse and repeat.

He'll be managing in Norway again next season.

I loved OGS the player.

I love OGS the person.

But OGS the manager seems like little more than a Sockpuppet.

Everyone needs to chill the feck out!

Ole isn't a "puppet" and he sure as feck isn't "clueless".

He's already made clear and concise decisions that are for the better of how he wants his team to play. Is it 100% on point right now? No! Do you know why cause it was never going to be fully fixed in ONE... Yes, ONE... Single transfer window.

Jesus we've actually played pretty well in the opening 3 games, yesterday really was just one of them bad days at the office and we could buy a win for love nor money!

He has started to build his team from the back forward which as many top professionals will tell you is the right thing to do. He's addressed RB and improved CB.

He knows well that we need a CM or two with quality in there, but if the right target isn't available then what's the point in spunking loads of cash on more money grabbing mercenaries? He wanted clear and specific signings that would work their ass off and want to be at the club for years and had been scouted by people he knew well in the game which is exactly what happened with the AWB & Maguire signings.

In only 8 months and 32 games in charge he has sold Fellaini, Valencia, Herrera, Lukaku and possibly Sanchez. Young & Matic have dropped down to the bench. That's 6 players that have been taken out of regular first team football and in turn he is slowly integrating and putting the focus on younger players and YTS players throughout, like yesterday we had 6 YTS players involved in the match day squad.

Folks have spent the last 2-3 seasons bitchin, bitchin and more bitchin about "over paid mercenaries" and to "play the young lads" and when you get that, you then bitch, bitch and bitch some more about there not being enough signings.

Every single one of you who ever posted hating on Rom, Sanchez, Fellaini, Young, Matic etc etc are simply getting EXACTLY what you asked for!

There's nothing, literally nothing that can be done between now and Jan, so guess what folks...grow some god damn balls, stop crying and get behind the damn team cause if your demanding for Ole to be sacked after only 32 games you're an absolute twat to my mind.

What's the alternative? Get Allegri or the like in and sack him after 30 something games too cause we aren't instantly on par with City and Liverpool.

And then people will lap it like some sort of great achievement for mankind.

And then the same people will say "well what can he do with a net spend of £1".

I'm with you, I feel bad for him because he had no idea what he was getting himself into.

It's the fact they backtracked on what they said when they appointed Ole as caretaker, that they were going to take their time and make sure they got the right manager. One win against PSG and that went out of the window as did our form. Yes we had injuries, but that also showed that there was no depth to the squad and if anything it is now even worse. Ed has let Ole down, but Ole has not done himself any favours by ditching players without demanding they be replaced. As others have said, if Longstaff was that player then we will end up exactly where we deserve to be.

He's a lottery winner, basically. You can never fault a man for accepting his dream job. Ole got into management thinking this job was like the Holy Grail and through sheer circumstance, it was suddenly a reality. I'd have accepted. Anyone would have. He's not to blame for this situation, really.

Moyes MkII.

Where the feck is the support in the supporters.
Yeah, let us just sack everyone and appoint another manager, that'll help a lot

There has been a massive cleanup, but for some reason the board and Woody would not put the money to the table.
We need more players, or we need to let some of the young players get experience. A so dramatic change in the team will always play out on the pitch.

Take a look at how Ole has worked with big changes in the past! After the cleanup he'll need 3 months to recoup. By Christmas we will see the quality and we'll pick 3 points from any opposition

Honestly he's a bit of a conman.

He comes in, first game the players go out there and smash a poor Cardiff team. Some journalist feeds him some buzzwords about how he wants his team's to play, and he's like yeah, yeah, yeah that's what I want.

Then as his influence grows as a coach on the team, in turns out he doesn't have a clue what he actually wants, or doesn't know how to execute it. The whole, 'we want a high pressing team' thing is hilarious. He apparently wants that, yet continued to play a deep line all of last season and then this season bought a slow CB as the center piece of his defence.

OGS the person and manager is actually more dodgy than you'd think. A few years back his dealings in the transfer market through his close friend agent Jim Solbakken, who is dodgy as feck, was exposed in the Norwegian football magazine Josimar, you'll find the article here. His not very well liked in parts of the Norwegian football world.

As a player it was different of course, although I think he got mixed up in some shady business towards the end of his career through Solbakken.
