It changes nothing, he did well today yes, but this cycle is just repeating itself over and over... It's a complete waste of time for our club
No the result was good, the way we played wasn't, the way he subbed wasn't, so Ole didn't do well. However this result will keep him around :(

Park biggest bus ever seen and wait. So that is what he meant that he is building 3 years.

Having said that, great result. Spot on tactics vs awful Spurs

Team was low on confidence. Got everything spot on today and that's all you can ask for from a manager really.

This was against a bad Spur side.

Ole went back to what he is decent at. Sit back and counter-attack with hard working players for the defense shape.

I am not sure he is good enough to build a side that will be on front foot attacking and control the ball. At least our midfield and wide forwards do not have work rate or technical stills for it.

Did well today he deserves credit.

Not sure this formation is sustainable though with the players in our squad.

I mean i didn't like the tactics or the way we setup but fair play to Ole, it was correct and it shows in the result. What i'm more concerned about is how many times we have to go through this boom bust cycle before people get that it's just not working out the way we want it to, we are capable of great highs and great lows, i'd say this is middle ground because Spurs are just absolutely atrocious, but it was a good response to last week at least. We have a fantastic team capable of good things, perhaps we are a midfielder away from a perfect team, but I just can't get on board with this managerial setup when it's just plain as day we're going to keep going through this cycle, as we have for many seasons with him now, and we won't win anything

It took a once in a century ramming by Liverpool but Ole finally went back to what we're best at: Being compact and counterattacking.

He will, someday, hopefully explain why he persisted with the crazy running around after opponents and leaving our lines miles apart. Still, at least he's gone back to what suits our squad best.

Do I credit him for doing what we've obviously needed to do since, at least, the Villarreal game? No, not really. However, I am relieved he did.

The squad is too good for playing like this and it will cause problems I'd we are to persist with this formation.

I agree only on the basis that this team should be pushing City / Chelsea / Liverpool for the title. Even Keane, Neville saying this spurs team were woeful. It's a good result and it's nothing new, Solskjaer is a better conservative manager so he should play to his managerial strengths. United look a disaster when needing to play on the front foot.

Great result, and needed. Cavani has to start when he’s fit. Look how much it helped Ronaldo having someone alongside him doing a lot of running.

We have won these type of games a lot under Ole. What is important is what happens next. Atalanta then City. Both must wins in my opinion going into the international break.

got it right today. 3-0 win away is massive against Tottenham. It is obvious the players still play for him (and the shirt obviously), everything else is nonsense.

he has a big squad, he should use it wisely. Players like lingard, sancho, edi, telles, matic. All these have a big role to play. VDB as well (but that’s a different discussion).

It was only correct for Ole. He's not losing his job now.

Giving up possession and hoping the opponent isn't scoring while also hoping on some magic from our 2 forwards isn't a good tactic, it's not even a tactic at all

Much more control and organisation today than we've seen certainly since the opening day. It doesn't change anything in the long run, the main thing he was building was around these young attackers and he ditched them all today plus Spurs are absolutely terrible, but it at least gives the team a bit more belief going in to a tough week.

Got it right and it was a great result and performance. Doesn’t change my overall opinion on him but everybody on here should be happy with that performance

Fans that are thinking about the long term are in the same boat as before the match.

Perfectly happy with the result, Ole got another, albeit undeserved, lifeline and its good to see him fighting back from that epic clusterfeck. However we know that 10 games from now we will be back to dodgy form and poor results because we have no consistency.

Resorted to fail-safe with 5 at the back with 2DMs to protect. Probably the sensible thing to do given how leaky we have been. But, I've been trapped in this Ole boom-bust cycle for a while to think it'll lead us anywhere.

A question for those who think he should stick with this formation? What do we do with our set of wingers/inverted forwards of which we have 5 on our books (Rashford, Martial, Sancho, Greenwood and Diallo), including an £80m winger who we signed in the summer. Do we chalk it off?

Brilliant brilliant tactic today 100%

Not many of us who suggested or expected the formation we played today. Maybe the manager and coaching team know more about things or
aren’t as stupid as some supporters claim.

Today the players played for each other, the manager and the club. The dressing room drama is definitely fake news or very exaggerated.

Look, spurs are a terrible side. We've had results like this before against other terrible sides and people have come on saying "see, look Ole does know what he's doing, give him a chance, you're all wrong for wanting him gone" only to be rubbish again shortly after so I'm not having it. I'm delighted with the win but anyone trying to kid themselves into thinking this changes anything and he shouldn't be sacked is delusional.

Thankfully he changed it and he played Ronaldo and Cavani upfront which is something I've been crying out for. We looked much better defensively and had a lot more structure about us. Props to him for that. We're low on confidence so keeping a clean sheet is a huge plus.

However, can't get carried away too much. We've been here before and Spurs were truly awful. If we can replicate this next week then that would be way more impressive. Good result though, obviously.

Ole's way of not trusting his squad, is a cause of his own inability to get players to perform. It's his fault that tactics and the work at the training ground isn't getting us to the level that our squad is at. We really do have a good squad. Most players would easily get into most teams we come up against, and it should't be this hard for so many of our players to get game time. It's really worrying that Ole isn't rotating enough.

Vindication for Ole.

He was brought to renew the optimism and flair after Mourinho and has instead finally put together an ever bigger bus.

I lost it with Ole but if he wins one game at a time and develops consistency then he can have the time as long as it’s working. However the huge caveat is how the rest of the season looks so disjointed. Did he fook the team by saying in the summer he was going to tweak and be more attacking?

He fixed the most obvious problem today and that was leaking goals, so credit there and also for going back to the style he knows best I. E. Counter attacking, v quick release to forwards and pressing deep in midfield.

Still believe that given the squad quality we need a better coach now. Maybe that'll be next season but it needs to happen

All is good now. Sorted our defensive issues out today by just packing the defence. Don't think we were that good going forward but its the same old - Ronaldo with an incredible goal and a superb assist to bail Ole out for the 100th time.

I’m sorry but I just can’t stand most fans on redcafe.

I just support out manager and can actually see and predict the challenges he faces.

I just fukin hate fickle fans.

Sorry for any offence caused x.

Still unimpressed and he has to go. Still needed 7 or 8 defensive players to get a win . A win against a poor Spurs side won't make any difference and shouldn't.

Yes. 100%. Saying mad stuff before Atalanta like we're going to go 424 and press from the front.

Utter madness. You could tell that the players were sceptical. Pogba's comments after Leicester. Bruno's after Atalanta.

We could all see that Ole's version of playing on the front foot was leaving acres of space for our opponents to play in. It was like he was oblivious to the issues his tactics were causing until Liverpool took a massive dump on us.

As much as I love Ole he has about 90% responsibility for our shakiness over the past month.
