It was a Moyes side, playing for a draw, who got a lucky goal early on. A West Ham side who were, what, 7th last year?

We kept at them and made good substitutions, both are down to Ole, and we got our rewards.

You're the one who came to this thread to pick up fights with other posters instead of actually celebrating the win.

Grow up a little bit.
No I came to this thread to praise ole for his sub bringing on Matic
Me questioning why it's quiet is not calling out anybody specific. Yet you decided to reply and took it personally?

Funny that eh? You clearly have a mindset fixed so maybe heed your own words?
You can't say you are not responding because you want to enjoy and yet in the same post say that were a mess. Think maybe?

Stonewall penalties? If it was stonewall, Var would have overturned the referee decision. It wasn’t stonewall.

Two of our best attacking talent? Ronaldo, Greenwood, Bruno, Pogba was all playing. Not sure what you on about. Unless one of these players have a dip in form, none of our other attackers are replacing them. With the chance you say we missed, same can be said with west ham. The penalty miss was the clearest chance of the game That wasn’t converted
How hasn't this WUM been banned yet?

Yeah... no.

Can we not do this today? Can we all just agree that we deserved to win, it was a tough place to go after Europe mid-week, the referee was a fecking disgrace and Ole got his subs right?

No micro analysis today, let's just enjoy a backs against the wall win instead.

The only reasonable conclusion to your posts is that you no longer watch United matches because you're too busy watching PSG instead.

We won and am happy, we move on to the next but our overall playing style and tactical naunce still leaves much to be desired.

He played again with McFred despite having top squad. That and his subs later showed that he is happy with point in these kind of games. With that thinking you don't challenge for title.
If he's happy with a draw he doesn't make Subs, because that's how the game was drifting. two of his three Subs combined for the winner.

How is that settling for a draw? I don't understand?

Agree we play them again and need to rotate so that will be another hard game.

You must be taking the piss if you legit think coming to this thread to ask why it's quiet isn't trying to pick a fight with other posters. You could have praised the Matic sub and moved on but no, you wanted to act cool and fight with others of different opinions.

Anyway, again, grow up a little bit. I have nothing else to say. You can keep on replying on your own as you wish.

They are penalties.

As of now I am the 18th post since full time. (Roughly)

by that time on Tuesday there was six pages of posts.
That's what I mean. I know I'm expecting too much, but at least balance

There was a great post earlier regarding not going to one extreme or another but actually rating the performance game by game

If we judge based on West Ham, then it should be praise as ole contributed to the win with his changes

Keep in mind he put in awb after the sending off and bringing on lingard after the mistake last game
Ole was rewarded and you can be sure the players will love him for not being thrown under the bus

The tempo off the team was mixed in the first half, and again the players woke up after conceding. The same players where nothing was changed

West Ham away is a tricky game, always has been. 3 points, job done. We move onto next. We have a tough run of fixtures coming up after next International break, so hopefully we'll get more consistent in our performances. Fred was a liability today, Ole needs to use him less.

Tbf those two dont actually help control the ball in midfield though b

They are still our best pairing, though. That's the harsh reality.

When you insist on playing with a free flowing front 3 with little to no defensive responsibilities and you want your no. 10 to play a part in practically every attack, then you can't afford Pogba(who's a great player, but still) losing possession needlessly 3-4 times per game.

We looked flat for 20 minutes at the end, but was comfortably on top for the rest of it. 2 penalties turned down, hit the post, Ronaldo messed up when clean through on goal, most shots on target by a team in the first half this season. Absolutely no way anyone can say we didn't deserve to win that. The only reason West Ham was in it was a horrible deflected shot.

We deserved to win for sure, but the last 20 mins epitomised Ole’s recent time at United. Struggling to build or apply any real pressure, but having the squad quality to just brute force the issue. Question is whether that’s a sustainable approach to winning the league. For me, no, but it’s certainly enough to win lots of games in an exciting way. Depends what the ultimate goal is I suppose.

Ole's subs paid off, Lingard and Matic combing to win the game. Many have said this never happens but his subs have won games last season.

And yet you're taking it personally, again. You chose to have a fight on this.
Why are you so angry after a win when a question is asked?

It's a cop out to say you have nothing else to say when all I'm asking is why it's different when it's a win vs a loss. It's clear to anybody who has seen the interaction that you can't answer the question so have taken personal shots at me instead

Well done

I was very critical in the second half of Ole today. But he pulled it out and got the win so fair fecks to him.

He needs to call out that ref.

We are getting nothing this season and it is very very suspect.

Fergie wouldn't let this slide.

First the Sotuhampton foul in Bruno and now this. It can't go on.

Same old story IMO, we don't play well but we get a result. He deserves credit for his subs today though, great to get Matic on with his passing, and also Lingard who keeps scoring it seems.

Small margins.

Today we set up well and dominated them, we were just unlucky not to score many more. He did a good job and it was almost undone by bad luck and bad refereeing.

He needs to find consistency and sort out our transitions now.

I don't know how anyone who watched the game can say that 2 out of 3 of those penalties aren't stonewalls. They'll get given next week to another team, the exact same thing.
I expect nothing from fecking Atkinson. He is worse than Mike Dean.

Yeah I think against the top sides and those just under like West Ham, Leicester, arsenal we will see the two base players allowing the four in front to play
Against lower I reckon we move Pogba deeper

And that tells you what? Maybe the Ole in folks should act more actively when the manager deserves some credit.

All in all, I think it was a good performance overall. Didn't really felt lucky, of course Westham bottling the penalty is sheer luck but all in all we have been fine. It was good, that today, we at least worked our way to meeting the post and to be in contention of deserving one or two penalties. This is how forcing your luck works. Ole set us up well, his subs turned out successful so he deserves praise. But I also want to point out, that this wasn't out of this world tactical level, it was a good move which works as an argument against he would be totally shit. It doesn't work for the argument of him being great.

It was two penalties for sure. Only a blind man would not have seen it. Ole can't be blamed for those and his subs was what won us the game.
But I still think he needs to upgrade his coaching staff. Our corners are pathetic.
So in the end a very good result.
