No they didn't. First of all in Chelsea you don't get season free and you don't live on former glory. You can win double but if you start badly next season, you are fired.
Secondly; in Chelsea you play with what you have and what you get. You don't rebuild. Rebuilding doesn't exist there. You either stsrt winning when you are hired or you are fired.

Based on watching Arsenal. They're a complete shit show of a team. Void of ideas going forward, comically bad defending, they show no heart, no team spirit and Arteta hasn't really improved a single player there since he took over and he makes terrible signings.

I'm not even sure of that, if I'm honest. Moyes seems better tactically at least. I feel he got a bum deal here, but that's a discussion for another thread.

He really hasn’t though. I really doubt he would have lasted long in both Arsenal or Chelsea either.
 
The way some of our 'fans' talk about Ole is nothing short of a disgrace. Starting to sound very much like Arsenal fans who wanted Wenger out. Look at how that had turned out for them.

He's improved us a lot. We have a talented squad. Got Varane and Sancho starting probably next game.
We haven't even had a disastrous start to season contrary to all the flapping on here since yesterday either.

Grow a pair and shut up moaning.

I don't rate any of them . But we are talking who is better manager. Ole had 3 times better squad than Arteta. We can't tell how Arteta would do in United and we can't tell how Ole would do there.
So far we can judge them by trophies and Arteta won something there (not that it is only thing which is important).

Definitely better than Lampard, but that's a low bar. With Arteta he's obviously done better in terms of league finishes but with the caveat that a) he inherited a much better squad, and b) he's spent more money and has the draw of Manchester United to help bring in better players. I think Arteta is constantly putting out fires at Arsenal, who don't act like a big club at all but still have that expectation from their fans.

While I’m not sure about that maybe if both where at West Ham then yeah as Moyes didn’t have a clue here.
I think Ole has took us forward but it’s the furthest his abilities can and due to the job he’s done we can’t sack him so I hope I’m wrong

what rebuild job has he done? buy/sell players? that’s standard, and it has amounted to nothing and we’re still the same inconsistent team. Yes, to me he’s a bum as a manager.

Same I hated Moyes with a passion but if he got 3 years he’d have us where Ole had us now but we’d actually have a style. But like you said for another thread.

It's not like Arsenal haven't spent under Arteta. Difference is Ole has spent on the likes of Bruno while Arteta splashes £30M+ on Aaron Ramsdale. It will be hard to find an Arsenal fan who gives a shit about that FA Cup after two consecutive mid table finishes. feck knows how they won that, another Wigan I guess.
 


This is what I mean when I say every result that isn't a win is the signal for a meltdown on here. I've never seen anything like it. Every win is just a stay of execution and every draw (never mind a loss) is seen as proof positive of his apparent failure.

At this point I'm just tired of having to discuss it time and time again. I thank God the club don't have such a myopic view of the situation and the team are secure in the knowledge that they can continue to progress and build towards success.

Well there is a reason Moyes didn’t get longer than he got. Players started disliking him very soon and we all know the reasons for that as well.

Why do you criticize players then? Why don't you grow a pair and support every player? Show support to Martial or James or Matic or Fred. What is the difference?
I would really want to get an answer why is allowed to criticize players and call for their selling (so in other words sacking) but for manager it is disgrace.

Martial and Fred are totally bashed last few days. Lets support them. Why to sign defensive midfielder? We have Fred. Have faith in Fred. Give time to Fred. Support Fred.

I agree that people don't need to throw insults at Ole, but that's a terrible analogy. Wenger revolutionised football in England and actually won things.

Even the most ardent Ole supporters on here have to accept that this is the season where he should be judged and where he needs to prove himself.

Arteta has spent enough so it's his fault he doesn have a good squad. Why do people act as if he is working on a limited budget. Who cares if we won a fa cup. So you would have been happy if we had finished 8th and won a FA cup.

And what is the evidence Lampard is the best. The guy had a great squad and was taking them nowhere (was 9th), so how is he better than Ole who has helped his team finish 3rd and 2nd.

The manager got us 2nd place in the toughest league in the world. Hahahaha. How is that sack worthy?

And the team above us have one of the greatest of all time in charge with a blank cheque book to spend. Get in the real world.

What’s that now? A manager who felt we needed a rebuild when he was actually right and tried to get players like Toni Kroos, Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera and don’t for one minute think LVG came in and said let’s get them guys. These deals had already been done.

What’s the difference? We spent loads of money after he left. The same money he would of got. He would have comfortable got us into a consistent top 4 side having spent that money, whilst his tactics would have been a lot more easy to digest than LVG.

What was main excuse for Ole? Needs his own team. Lampard bought zero players and finished in top 4. And i think that his team played better football (subjective, i know). Again, it is comparing couple of average managers. Hard to compare.
My point was that we laugh at Arteta and Lampard while having exact manager here.

Wasn't comparing them as coaches. Ole is a club legend like Wenger is for them. Different reasons but still legends.

Ole isn't doing a bad job either. Are we now the club who sacks manager for coming 2nd? Deary me.

Yes he took over a team that had a false sense of belief that they where still good enough to win a title and wasn’t ready for a rebuild.

Both sides where right. However instead we sacked the manager and still sacked the players.

Both the right decision as both weren’t good enough.

The difference now is we have the players and are decided to hold onto the David Moyes level manager.
 
This season is D Day for Ole as far as I’m concerned. No more of this nicey nicey he’s building and doing well etc etc I keep seeing. He has an incredible opportunity to win things this season having been backed again in the market - a position almost any manager in world football would like to be in as manager of United and this squad. No one would like to see him succeed here more than me but no more excuses and no where to hide this season now Ole.

Football is a result business and Ole may not have won a trophy yet but deserve far more respect than the other two. As for better football, well like you said that is subjective.

I was not talking about that. I was talking about that myth which you and some other posters promote here. Who doesn't support manager (think that he is not good) hates Ole and is not true fan. Meanwhile, that doesn't stand for players. Why? Since when is manager=club? Manager is part of the squad. Just like players.
