Totally agree. Changing the culture is a term used by many but I’ve not seen any one do it as well and as quickly under such pressure as Ole has

Bang on! Tbh this generation love knee jerk reactions and jumping on the band wagon.
The turnaround has been brilliant. We are actually really fun to watch now plus we're dominant in ways we haven't seen for ages. Well done to Ole, he stuck by his guns and it's really exciting to see that we're headed in the right direction. In particular, I love the manner in which he's bedded Greenwood into the team.
So glad Woodward didn't cave to the pressure and make a rash decision.
It just shows how important that 1 extra player can be, and confidence/momentum is hugely important.

I've thought all along that OGS's life story means he can only ever succeed at Manchester United and nowhere else. It's been written many times that the exposure he got sitting on the subs bench next to SAF, plus his long distinguished career as a striker of Manchester United's best ever squads means he has the clubs DNA deep in his veins. And so it's just a matter of time for him to build a collection of players that is suitable and good enough to fit what he knows.
After the mixed strategies of Moyes, LVG and Mourinho, OGS inherited a random selection of players who were confused on the club culture and demotivated by the board continually sacking managers. Transitioning from such a place was always going to require alot of player turnover and a hit in results. I expected that to last for at least 2 seasons, and was not expecting top 4 this year.
But it seems as though OGS has pulled this off in 1/2 a year: We have a clear club culture, several styles of playing and are just a few players short of a title challenging squad. Personally I'd rather we also use next year to further develop our progress, do as well as we can, but then make a real go of it in 2022. Woodward deserves alot of credit for this too.
Regardless, I'm loving supporting my team again, and cant wait for every game.
Still lots to learn when it comes to movement and linkup play. We could do it more systematic like City does.
It feels a lot with us like it is up to the individuals to come up with things.
Martials movement has improved though so that is a positive thing.
Confidence high in the side though and Ole knows how to ride the way and keep it high.
Hopefully we can bounce back if we get any poor results before the season ends. If we do then I think we
can get top 4 and also win one of the cups.

Always supported him, always knew there would be some bumps before we got better.

This is even more satisfying considering the amount of shite Rio took from opposition fans for this, they "memed" it until it came true.
Amen! I'm happy to say that I was firmly "Ole in" even in our darkest times. It was obvious that the squad was the main problem and it was frustrating that so many other fans were unable to see it. If I'm not mistaken, this poll showed that more than 50% wanted him out at one point. Pretty embarrassing stuff.
Ole always did well in the past when he had a good team relative to the league. Molde and the United reserves are good examples of this. My biggest "worries" was:
1. How will he deal with superstars/top players(man management)?
2. How will he deal with the media pressure?
3. How will he fare in the transfer market?
Check, check and check! In my opinion, he has been excellent at all of the above. In terms of personality, intelligence, club status and utilizing players correctly, I had no doubts.
His final task is to win big trophies consistently. Since he does all the other stuff well(unlike every other manager post Fergie), he ought to be given a lot of time.

Ever since the restart, Ole is back to being really good, brave and more positive with his decision makings consistently. Maybe that break made him think and learn more and reflect about his managerial decisions and the squad so far. Ole did say before he's a thinker who thinks a lot about this managing football things.

I've heard this said about LVG and Mou in their first seasons. Downfall during their 2nd onwards. Moreso with LVG because he's a lot more positive than Mou who also had his natural haters.
Anyway, yeah I agree Ole fits our "united identity" or "club football philosophy" (not LVG's) the most out of the four post-saf managers.
His mannerism since the restart is one of a man that knows what he's doing and has a goal that he has set his eyes on. Basically looking more like a leader than a caretaker now
He's tuned up the team rather well i must admit. Mentality has been changed completely. Before i dreaded the prospect of us going down against bottom sides, or any side for that matter, but no we're creating so much that sometimes i actually find myself wishing we'd go 1 down so that we would put it in higher shift and obliterate the opposition.
So Ole can only be good at managing a good team relative wise? poor at building/turning rubbish teams to be good?

I think Ole already pass your 3 worries.1. Case studies: Pogba, Lukaku, Sanchez, etc etc.
2. Seems fine so far. Almost always positive front persona, consistently. Except the RVP #20 one.
3. Seems very good so far. No complaint.
He did those smoothly with smiles and gentleness, even the "assassinations". Lukaku, Sanchez and the rest that left didn't really say any bad things about Ole isn't it. Even Raiola is keeping his mouth shut usually because there's not much to say bad things about Ole. Very few times, he'll rip you apart but usually personally but sometimes get caught in camera eg. the case of Lingard.
We went from a team that struggled to beat low blocks to scoring minimum of 3 goals against those teams
Said this in the game thread but him swapping Martial and Rashford's positions seems to have been a master stroke for both players. Martial is a lot more involved in every build up play, Rashford is thriving as a wide left forward without the responsibility of leading the line. Its a switch neither Van Gaal nor Mourinho saw coming but the later wasn't even invested in turning either of them into a success.
I have to admit that I didn't think Martial had the personality to do that role.
He has stepped up massively.
i don’t think anyone saw that coming, everyone was predicting the other way.
Klopp took 4 years to win the title with money spent wisely. SAF took more than 6 to build the team. First 3 years of Ole need not been seen until the team was pathetic like Jose's. He's had only 2 transfer windows and need at least few more to reach the elite level.
Ole's development of Martial and Shaw(in particular considering the criticism from the former manager) has been nothing else but brilliant. Not many managers would've sold off Lukaku and trusted Martial to be the number nine for the season but it has paid off handsomely for us. Same thing regarding Shaw, brought in Williams to give Shaw competition but never criticized Shaw in public and as a result Shaw is at his best spell in United.

When Ole came in, you could see that he had a plan. After a while we could see progress in the way the team was playing. Not necessarily results but there were so many signs that given time, it will all fit. His signings, his man management, media management, team management in big games have all been so good.
People don't understand that building a team, especially after the mess the previous managers created, takes time. They think it's like some video game where you can sell and buy players all in 1 window, put up some pre-defined tactics and everything comes together within a day.
It shows once more what believe, hard work and confidence in players can do for them. This is why I hated Jose and LVG, there was always friction between them. Not that Ole wouldnt be tough on them, but it seems like they are in this together.
I also love how calm it is with regards to our players. They seem very focused, no negativity, no one is doing some dumb things. I love that kind of influence Ole has on the players. I have to admit I wanted him out when we were so poor earlier, but massive respect for turning things around the way he did!
I think the way this team has transformed from even just before the Lockdown has been incredible. We were on the up but I don’t recall us controlling games the way we do now. Some of the passing triangles and the way we move the ball has been excellent and yesterday was probably the best example.
More time more practice and I can only see it getting better but the fact we can now do counter and this is really exciting.
