So basically those seats are on a slight gradient?
No, not by my understanding. The point being that the walls are there to avoid this.

I don't think he meant that you are sitting in a lob sided seat, at least I hope that's not what he meant.
Found the old thread discussing this but my illustration has long since disappeared, so I've stuck it back up on Imageshack:
Thie idea is that it shows how the North stand having a shallower gradient than the ends leads to the need for the "walls" in the quadrants...
...if you think I'd be better off sticking to badly photoshopped pics of Ralphie as Pete Boyle with Mick Hucknall's hair and Dame Edna's glasses, just say.
I've seen that before. That still doesn't explain how the lower parts(exec seating, connect to both stands, seamlessly(or so it seems).
I dont' think they do, though that would certainly render my diagrams incorrect. I don't think I've ever seen the quadrants form the North stand - Will check the photos!
Maybe they just put the walls there to give us something to talk about?
You have to remember that all the stands apart from the North (I think that was demolished completely) have basically built on the top of the old bowl, so it should be almost right at that level that once held 44,000.
They've painted them red Spoons. So, the mess is far less noticable.
They were also putting balconies on the North Stand exec boxes, so that the prawn sandwich brigade can watch the match without looking through a glass wall.
No, I think that they were simply moving the glass wall back, putting on a glass door and then a rail to stop people falling off.
Or not much space on the balconies, two people having to sqeeze past each other, will go down great when the ladies are invited.
The odd thing is, and you can't really see it from that angle, but the paint is highly glossy. Maybe they hadn't finished yet? They were also putting balconies on the North Stand exec boxes, so that the prawn sandwich brigade can watch the match without looking through a glass wall.
