To be fair Maxi and Cole are better than Trochowski.
I am an Argentina fan since 3-4 World Cups and have seen the rise and fall of Maxi and he was amazing at one point in time but he seems to have regressed alot from the '06 WC to now.. I was honestly very surprised to see him get so many minutes for Argentina.. But then again we are talking about Maradonna (the manager who is emotional over logical)
Cole has had injury troubles and has not really performed well in the last few years.. I think his decision to go to Chelsea was horrid.. He should have transferred to the likes of Liverpool when he decided to leave West Ham.. He too has been regressing since ages.. Also his injury troubles add to this.. Having said that I was one of those who thought Cole would be a risk worth taking by SAF.. He may still come good.. But lets be fair he hasn't really performed consistently since a few years..
This doesn't mean I am saying Trochowski is better than either but I was just giving my opinion on it..
He's pants. He'd never make our team even now at this low point.

Based solely on his appearances in the World Cup, which is the only time I've seen him, I would be devastated if this happens. He was absolute gash against Spain.

I had a look at him a few years ago when we were rumoured to be keen - midtable player at best.
He has been average for a very long time now. 20m? They're having a laugh. More like 5m, and that may be too much. He can't even get in the Hamburg side on a regular basis these days.

The only German players we should be looking at right now are Neuer, Adler (GK), Schweinsteiger and Kroos (CM, though Bayern would never sell Kroos). We should have a look at Dortmund's Mario Goetze as well, looks like a player with extraordinary potential. Special mention goes to Lewis Holtby (attacking midfielder) of Mainz 05 who is currently on loan from Schalke. Could play for England too if he wants to...
We shouldn't be looking at İlkay Gündoğan?
I have a horrible feeling we'll end up with a B grade player like him who has the experience Fergie has talked about needing to replace the old stagers.
Gündogan is far too young and raw, currently he wouldn't even make it into one of the better teams of the Bundesliga. But he's a good talent.
Schweinsteiger won't move from Bayern, it's all tactics to get a better contract from Ulie Hoeneß.
Kroos would be the real deal, along with Özil Germany's biggest talent. Bayern are extremely keen to take hold of him, but he's not happy that they didn't give him a proper chance before he was loaned out to Leverkusen. I'd be over the moon if we were to buy him.
