Manual shooting is actually pretty good for long range screamers but absolutely horrific when inside the box.

I noticed that too. Only for free kicks though. All of long ragers go weeeelll wide but for freekicks they're pretty close to going in. Agree with headers. All in all I don't think it's worth it. Seeing as I'm just an amateur I still need assistance on my shots

Literally the moment after you've powered the shot, hold the direction you want to curl, also hold R1 for extra
