Oh there are lots of options - there have to be. Especially when looking left-field. In fact, the perfect striker who fits that mold is Ighalo's very own mentee, Victor Osimhen.

- 20 years old
- Prolific scorer
- Has matched Kylian Mbappe for pace this season
- Taller than Ighalo
- Plays at Lille and won't cost so much
The same Lille that just sold Pepe for 72m last year?

We just need to extend his loan period but not sure how that would work. All the signing of the Ole had been spot on till date especially with the attitude and commitment these guys shows is completely remarkable.

I hope PL restarts. This guy was genuinely happy about coming to Utd and enjoying his time.

Every time I watch an interview with Ighalo, my eyes well up. In this day of mercenaries, it's so beautiful to hear what he has to say. His story, his background, his journey. It's a dream for him, but it's also a dream for many fans to have a guy like this leading the line. Even though he obviously won't be starting every game, what a guy. I'll be severely disappointed if we don't get to see him again in a United shirt.

Ighalo just reminds us how poor our strikers have been since the departure of Ibrahimovic. Both Lukaku and Martial are terrible in holding and protecting the ball up front, and they can't really cooperate with their teammates. To be honest Ighalo isn't that good but at least he can offer the elements we have been lacking for years.

This.

We must retain Ighalo at least until we get a replacement who can provide same or better service than him. His game is too invaluable in certain scenario that no other strikers at united can offer.

Is it possible to do a players swap for Ighalo with Sanchez? I mean Chinese clubs are rich, they could probably afford Sanchez wages. Sanchez being more famous could be attractive deal for them, and of course Ighalo settle better in Man Utd would be great deal for us. Win-win situation.

Uh, didn't Bruno join Udinese in 2013?

Ighalo was on loan with them in 2008.

He was Udinese player and was on loan at various clubs till 2014.

I think they might have played together in preseason game in either 2013 or 2014.

It is reported that he is willing to reduce his wages by half to be at United.

Players like Ighalo win you leagues in the long run. Selfishness on the pitch and selflessness off it is the make up of a perfect bench player, who is capable of starting and scoring goals. I hope we sign him up on a perminant.

There is a wage cap now in the Chinese league. Ighalo has his wages because he's on a previous contract that can be extended. Sanchez should take a pay cut. Whatever happens, I think that's a proposal we should try in order to avoid the 15m Shanghai is asking us. But if not, let's try to negotiate it down and make the move. Igdalo brings something interesting and I really liked the way he played against City.

Some argue he is 35 which sounds more likely. And his name means - the king loves me. Cool.
There is no such argument. Obafemi Martin's official age is 35. He was officially 16 when he was at Inter in 2001.

Any argument about his age would be the one that arose about 10 years ago, when it was claimed he was 8 years older than he claimed which makes his age 35 and the argument, that he is 43 or thereabouts.

It's just a running joke, he made his first professional appearance in 1988 so it's incredible he's still playing.

Is Ameobi still playing? I think he got more famous with José's special TV than his actual playing.

Laughed out loud when I read this. Nothing to stop anyone “arguing” about a guy’s age, unless you mean legal argument (involving facts and such)?

I hope he really is 43. And still a bargain in relative terms for the Chinese league. Let’s hope he’s still going at 51.

No one argues that Martins is 35. Some have argued that he is 43.

Remember Guardiola getting someone to make a motivational-movie with highlights from their entire season and the Gladiator-soundtrack before the Champions League final against us?

Someone should make a video of Ighalos carrier combined with the 8 Mile-soundtrack and send to him. This really is a life time opportunity for him. If his fitness is a bit better when he returns he could be such an important impact for us. This break could ruin everything for him or it could be his big chance to return with the best staminia and fitness of his carrier.

What happens to Ighalo? Will he be allowed to extend past his loan contract?

I've said this already but i can't see how he has a future in China. He got his dream move to the biggest club in the biggest league in the world, it's gone better than he could have ever expected, and now it's been cut short. He can't possibly be ok with going back there now he's experienced this. Even if contractually he is forced to go, surely he will leave at the first opportunity.

Looks fit on the training photos, I reckon he's going to shine, if he gets some game time.

Tottenham 1:1 Man Utd
Maybe the stats will say different but I only recall him having one touch, but it was a decent lay off to Mason.

Norwich 1:2 Man Utd
He must have had 20 touches max but he was involved in everything that won us the game - the goal, getting their player sent off, receiving the pass from Pogba for the Maguire goal.

Solid performance, 100% scoring record from starting, probably would have got a 2nd if he wasn’t pulled down
