Oasis Tickets

I will say this though, the more music you listen too in the coming years, and the great bands you will inevitably discover, the more distant you will become to Oasis.

You heard it here first.

They'll always have a place in my music collection:D

Doy you still listen to them RedNome? Or do you just listen to one or two of their songs on the odd occassion?

I wouldn't be against listening to DM again at some point, although I haven't done for years now, apart from the odd tunes that I hit upon on the music channels.

Have you given the new album a listen through? Waiting for the Rapture is pretty much a rip-off of Five to One by the Doors. I'm Outta Time, To Be Where There's Life, Bag it Up and (Get off Your) High Horse Lady are my particular favourites, though I enjoy them all.

Nah man, my Oasis days are long gone, about ten years gone.

My music tastes have grown and evolved a lot since then, as will yours in time.

Well I bought it online so if you want a link to the album just give us a shout and I'll forward it. You've got nothing to lose, I think it's an excellent album, a grower though, I wasn't too keen on it first time round.

How can you insult them when you haven't even give the new album a listen. Atleast give it a listen then tell what you think.

Anyway so what your saying is Oasis are for children and teenages.

If I wanted to listen to it I'd have downloaded it by now, just not my thing anymore lad, sorry.

But thanks anyway.

I've given them more chances than I care to admit, plus concidering I was a fan of theirs (a fecking huge fan btw) before they even made it big, I think I am intitled to my opinion on them thank you very much.

I never said you weren't just give the new album a listen you might like it.

How would that work then? You're entitled to an opinion on something you've not heard? Does that work the same way as Wes having an opinion on Gary Neville's performance in a game he didn't even watch?

Right on cue.

If you read this thread I think you will find not once have I mentioned the quality of Oasis's new album, but please, feel free to come out with your usual bullshit posts.

Right back to the poker.

I was commenting more on your apparent ability to know you're not going to like something without having listened to it.

Sorry I underestimated your innate musical genius again.

I am not allowed to become bored with a band over time, to the point where I don't want to give any new stuff a listen?

I'm sure there are bands that you used to listen to that you don't now.

You pompous twat.

I usually agree with you on a lot of things music wise RN but i can't agree on this one. I have listened to oasis for over ten years now and i still love em even though i find new bands that i like all the time. Might have something to do with age i think.

I like how this thread turned out

Doubled my money on the tix, thanks lads. £180 profit and I didn't even have to get up off my arse. Sweet :D

Got my tickets for the Saturday at Heaton park without too much bother.

Regardless of arguments over the quality of their recent stuff/ Liam's voice, it should still be an awesome gig. The support bands are quality and the tickets weren't too overpriced so I'm pleased.

I see. So I'm the pompous one, although it was you that came into the thread to tell us all how highly evolved your taste in music is and that we might only be able to see your point of view in ten years time when we've had the chance to learn as much as you know. It was also you that felt the need to tell us that you'd given Oasis enough chances and didn't need to hear their latest album.

In contrast, I pointed out that I'd normally have greater respect for someone's opinion on music if they've actually heard the music that is being discussed.

And your conclusion is that it's me that's pompous?

BTW, which bands are you and your highly evolved taste listening to these days?

I should be there on the thursday :D

Providing my mates cock-up got sorted ok, he order two pairs 5 times...

Not got the Leeds tickets yet, but will do!

Got Rancid and Less than Jake next month (not sure if its your type of music mind)

Uni is the way forward!

Oasis are in the same camp as Metallica. They`ve retained a large fan base despite the fact that younger, more talented bands have appeared on the scene since their peak years and kind of shown them up. Most music fans are conservative though and aren`t aware of this.

Can't say I've heard of the bands you've mentioned!

And yes, it looks like it is, September can't come quick enough! (Saying that, I haven't even finished my UCAS application:nervous:)

Never really gave punk a listen, may give them a listen later on.

I've not really settled upon which Uni I want to go to yet, I've looked at Manchester, Nottingham, Sheffield, Norwich, and Preston amongst others but I've not picked a definite choice yet.

Ideally I would like to take Law, though more recently I have thought about taking History as it is by far my best subject, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the course.

Do it.

And fair enough just do a subject you'll enjoy, and Manchester is by far the best city!
