Been on sale for 5 minutes. Sold out
Oasis' 2009 stadium tour broke all box office records when it went on sale this morning, selling a staggering 500,000 tickets by 3.00pm. We've had to scramble to put additional nights on sale in both London and Manchester after the band's two night runs at London's Wembley Stadium and Manchester's Heaton Park sold out in hours. Oasis first ever trip to Sunderland's City of Light Stadium has also sold out already.
NEWSFLASH: While writing this mail we've just learned that Oasis' Slaine Castle concert had sold out by 4.00pm. This makes it the fastest ever selling show at this venue ahead of U2!!
Kasabian and The Enemy will be special guests on all UK shows. According to Noel, "These gigs are going to be easily the gigs of next year, if not the decade. They are gigs that go down in people's memories".
The third Manchester and London shows are selling fast and only a very limited number of tickets remain for Cardiff, Edinburgh and Dublin.
We can also let you know that Oasis will also being playing a show at Coventry's Ricoh Arena Stadium with The Enemy supporting on Tuesday the 7th July . This final show on Oasis 2009 summer tour does not go on sale until Thursday the 30th October at 9.00am.
Who said Oasis were losing it?
I wish I could go and see them![]()
Who said Oasis were losing it?
Anyone who's heard their stuff from about 1997 onwards?
![]()
You're one of those who underrates Be Here Now and the Masterplan albums
SOTSOG, HC and DBTT were'nt great, albeit still listenable too. I'm really enjoying Dig Out Your Soul though![]()
If Liam could still sing then maybe they would have a little something, but unfortunatly he can't and quite frankly I got bored of the whole Beatles rip offs a long, long time ago anyway, think it may have coincided with me finishing puberty![]()
Not quite. In fact I've said before, Be Here Now, at the time of its release, got almost uninterrupted play on my stereo. The Masterplan has some of Oasis' best tunes, imo. And I liked Heathen Chemistry!
The fact that you describe 3 of their last 4 albums as "listenable" surely suggests that Oasis did, in fact, lose it? Let's be honest here, if Oasis were selling concert tickets based on their last 4 albums, they wouldn't be breaking records. People go because they've grown up listening to songs like Live Forever and Champagne Supernova.
Why aren't you going to see them E?
Jesus don't sit on the fence, RN!![]()
You know I find that strange actually, I know Oasis love the Beatles and base themselves on them, but I just don't get The Beatles at all. A few of their songs are excellent (Daytripper is my favourite), but for the most part I find their stuff incredibly average.
And regards Liam voice, I think he tends to try to hard to be heard so to speak. I watched them Live at Wembley and some of the 'softer' songs he sang I thought he was excellent with.
He's ledge![]()

Opinions are opinions. You listened to Abbey Road or Revolver or Rubber Soul all the way through?
I think the Beatles are one of the best bands ever. Oasis aren't in their league. Even though music is subjective, that shouldn't really be up for debate.
Holy mother of God, you didn't just say that did you?![]()
Their last 4 albums are still very good and better than a lot of what so called 'bands' produce today. I think they keep their fans happy with their new stuff, but I don't think they will win many more with their latest stuff. I enjoy it though, so that's all I'm bothered about![]()

Revolver yes, the others no.
Like you said, music is subjective. I just don't get all the hype with the Beatles if I'm being honest.
It's my opinion and I'll damn well have it![]()

Oasis fans always pull out that argument! It's a rubbish point really, mate. There has always been shite music around, but if you look hard enough you'll find the good stuff. If I had the choice between spending 12 quid on an album produced by a band today, or going for something in an older artist's back catalogue, I'll always go for the classic stuff.
Well let's see if Liam and Noel haven't had enough of each other by then!
With all due respect, you can't really call what the Beatles have 'hype'. It's like saying Pink Floyd are hyped up. Sure some people overrate them, but their contributions have stood the test of time and influenced so much of what's gone on since, that it goes beyond hype.
Also, you are speaking from a position of ignorance if you dismiss the Beatles without having listened to most of their stuff.
I like a lot of the classic stuff too. Not a huge amount of today's bands interest me to be honest. A lot of it is hit and miss I feel.
Totally understand that Gazza, and you're right. Will make a promise to myself to listen to the albums you mentioned before I pass further judgement.
Though they are from Liverpool, which instantly means they're cnuts.
RedNome is living proof of this.

Ha ha! To be fair, the Beatles did mention Matt Busby in one of their songs.
Revolver-Abbey Road-Sgt Pepper are generally considered to be the essential Beatles albums. Rubber Soul is also good.
And agreed on music these days. Not a whole lot to get excited about. Thankfully there's decades worth of music of all different types to dip into.
That statement might work if I was actually from Liverpool and not just living here.
Magical Mystery Tour
Abbey Road
Give them a listen mate you won't be dissapointed..
Right, I'll give those albums a download tonight and give them a listen when I have the time.
Dare I mention Radiohead now?
Is this another epic fail to add the the catalogue?
Sgt Pepper > Magical Mystery Tour imo.
Abbey Road is classic. How a band on the verge of falling apart could come up with something like that is beyond me.
Once you have listened to their catalogue then I may entertain a discussion with you on them, but until then lets stay on topic.
And yes, epic failure.
Revolver is still my Favorite, plus it contains my favorite ever Beatles tune in Tomorrow Never Knows.
Love Ringo's drumming on that one. I love I'm Only Sleeping and Taxman.
None of us have mentioned "The Beatles" double-album. A bit hit and miss but some great tracks on there.
