NRL Thread

The first 4 games are troubling me. Broncos can always manage to come back from a defeat. Roosters dont lose many. Panthers and Dragons are both struggling to win. Eels and Sharks both lost last week. Warriors and Cowboys both look strong and won last week.

Tough round. I see myself getting 2 right. Strom and doggies. Maybe Raiders. Souths are alot different this year.

Well done Broncos !!

Brilliant stuff by them. Roosters were fecken shit ! Finch's try shouldnt of been allowed ... but typical roosters always getting away with that kind of shit especially Finch the ugly fecker. Roosters last try was soft. So Really the score line was kind to them. They technically only got 10-12 points not 22.

It kills me ... i tipped Brisbane then changed it yesterday because of a gut feeling ... bloody hell. oh well, watching Roosters lose was brilliant stuff.
 
Hell Yeah! Go Broncos! I tipped them to win by 13 or more aswell :D

We should have won by more if Mander wasnt so biassed. He is the best referee the game has, but last night he was piss poor. Did you see him make the call that minichello had caught the ball in the in-goal and Mander was 30 meters away and he got it wrong!!?? Bloody Hell.

Brisbane were at their best last night. Brent tate was the best player i thought. Lockyer played well, but seriously we need a new player to take the conversions, he is hopeless at them. Also credit to Hodges for getting a try against is old club shutting the fans up :lol: :D

Good luck to the cowboys later today!!

I reckon John lang will get his panthers over the line, the have too much talent in there team. I think the sharkies can pull off a win as well, only because kimmorley is back in the side, and he himself can change a game.

Warriors and cowboys, going on form, should be a very very close game. Go the cowboys tho, as im from Qld!! And also because im still cut about warriors beating the broncos last week...
 
Yeah ive fecked my tips up this week i reckon. I tipped Broncos ... then changed it couple of days ago because of a gut feeling ... cant believe it. But so glad Broncos won.

Do Broncos have a kick taker ? Lockyer doesnt want to take them ... he cant kick them for shit. This could cost them some game. They wont be able to win the championship this year if they dont have a kick taker.
 
Lockyer kicks at around 66% which is not good enough imo. El Masri from bulldogs kicks at like 83% but then again hes living on a different planet when it comes to conversion kickiing. We can still win the league tho...i reckon we have arguably the best side on paper and the best player in the world in darren lockyer.
 
Broncos for sure will finish top 4.

Wow wee at Dragons ... played 3 lost 3 ... bloody hell, wonder whats going on there. Barrett returns next week against Raiders (cnut, common Raiders).

I knew id have a terrible week with tips. So far only have Cowboys right. As im typing this Sea Eagles are winning 25/18 with 30 seconds to go ... they won it, Thats Storms first lose. Who would of thought Eagles to start this strong. Also whilst im typing this, Doggies and tigers are 18/18 on 52 minutes.

So hopefully Doggies will win and thats 2 correct for this week. Need my glorious Raiders to win for me also.

That was brilliant stuff, Grand Final material that was. Which other team in the NRL can score 3 times and convert each try in 12 minutes ? Thats unbelievable stuff. Both teams kickers were sensational. 6/6 for both kickers. Suspenseful stuff that was. Bad luck to the doggies in the end. Silly individual mistake cost them. You kinda felt for them there. Although i lost another tip, (only have 1 right this week thus far, cowboys doing it for me, hopefully raiders tomorrow will win) its good to see the bigger clubs losing so far. Storm have lost their first of the season, Dragons havent won yet, Panthers won their first game this week, Roosters have lost a game so have the Broncos, the doggies have now lost their second so its good to see the usual contenders for the top 4 finish are losing because pretty soon they will all shift into their next gear once they have their full squads and really kill the rest and be near impossible to beat.

Its a tough season this one, brilliant stuff.
 
Yeah Raiders got the 2 points ... but wasnt a good game at all. We bloody struggled against last years Wooden Spoonners. We made alot of stupid mistakes in that match. Did you notice how we took so long to get up from a tackle we made ... too many times the Ref had to scream "HELD ! GET UP ! RELEASE !!" and we would still be on top of the player in which the ref would blow his whistle ... could that have been a tactic ? slow the rabbitohs play ? i dont know but i was screaming my head off everytime.

Also OHara scares the shit out of me. He is one big Dumb shit. I just know there is a 75% chance he will drop the ball in a tackle, slip as he gets up to play the ball or tackle someone and takes years to get up. He pisses me off. Not a good player at all.

Good to see Crocker back. Sad to see Adamson get injured. End of first half we had only 1 player on the bench ... very scary that ... luck 2 other players recovered and came back.

So overrall, i thought Raiders were poor. They need to cut back on their errors, conceeding penalties and start to have some ideas in attack. Too many times they had the ball and didnt know what to do or where to go from 10 - 20 metres out. Also they ball watch. They follow and run with the opposition player rather then take him to ground. A.McDougall set up one try by running between two raiders players who were level running with him and rather then tackling him let Adam gain alot of metres to put the pass through for one of the tries. I didnt understand why the Raiders players didnt tackle him.

I didnt have much confidence in them before the season kicked off but we seem to be doing something right. Just hope we dont get hit with injuries.
 
:( Broncos. Are. Shit.

Storm made 12 line breaks and 11 mistackles...while broncos made 0 line breaks and 57 mistackles. Games like that are pathetic and hopefully this will wake up Bennet to our defensive problems.

Oh well, good win for the cowboys and raiders who i tipped.
 
Yeah Cowboys and Raiders are the only ones i got right.

I watched the Storm-Broncos match. They kept hitting that right side of Broncos where the likes of Tate and that school kid were. Broncos were lost. The commentator summed it up pretty well ... said something along the lines of in 1 game they convinced everyone they were back and worthy enough to win the comp and the next they are getting slaughtered ... not exact words but should ring a bell about what im on about.

Dragons are struggling ... anyone else predict Brown getting fired in the near future regardless of the fact the Dragons boss ruled such a thing out.

I honestly tipped my Raiders to be Wooden spoon contenders before a ball was kicked ... but now im feeling confident they will make the top 8. Of course they have only played 3 and there are many more teams to play but still if they can remain injury free they really do have a chance. I also admit i was quick to criticise us getting adamson and smith who are in their 30's and injury prone ... but great to see they have proved me wrong. They have brought so much to the Raiders side. Direction, leadership, experience, skill, strength. Both men and monsters. Fearless. But it scares me everytime they get the ball or go for a tackle the possibility of them not getting back up and injuring themselves is very high. Though Elliott said if he can get at least 10 games out of Adamson then he will be happy ... well he is doing well so far. Best of luck to him. Im thrilled with what ive seen from the Raiders. We play the gay pack Roosters next week. I cant remember the last time we beat the poofs. Im under the impression Raiders are homophobs and freeze up when they play them ... cant blame them really. hehehe.
 
I tipped Warrios, Bulldogs and Roosters to win their next matches in this round.

Im going bad with my tips. Hope i pick it up soon.

Ill probably once again get like 2 or 3 right and thats about it. Surely the likes of the Dragons are due for a win.

Hope my Raiders can continue their run. Id love us to beat Roosters. Cant stand them. Though to be honest im actually getting used to losing to them all the time. I seriously cant remember the last time we beat them. But seeing as we have a new look side hope new things to come. This will be our toughest match this season. Hindmarsh and Tyron Smith are back. Just read on nrl.com that O'Hara is out for the season. Needs a shoulder reconstruction ... i know this might sound wierd but im glad he is out. I dont like him. He makes too many silly mistakes and loses the ball too easily in every match. He annoys the shit out of me. Takes to long to get up from a tackle he has made. Just shits me everytime i see him. But its a shame he has to now go through this pain and suffering. I do wish him luck and hope he doesnt experience too much pain and suffering.

Footy Show tonight ! Looking forward to it. 9:30pm Channel Nine.
 
The footy show lads usually influence me to change my tips. Example i tipped Eels to win last week then changed it to Panthers because they all picked panthers ... cnuts lol
 
Yeah the season so far has been very unpredictable but still great to watch. I keep hearing on the TV people describing it as a 'nightmare' for tipsters. Its certainly been a nightmare for me so far :( not that i would classify myself as an expert tipster or anything.

Storm should come out winners in what i think should be a very close match. Storm simply cant continue there crushing form. Wouldnt be surpirsed if John Lang gets his panthers a well deserved win.

Dragons i reckon will thrash the sea eagles. They are well due for a win and the sea eagles form has been somewhat lucky and many of their players are inconsistent and overrated. Dragons line-up is class.

Im picking the sharkies to come out on top against the cowboys. Kimmorley and Dykes have been in great form, especially kimorleys kicking and i reckon they will tear apart the cowboys. Cowboys are no crap team though, so im expecting a close match.

Warriors should edge it against the inform tigers and i tipped the broncos to thrash the eels becuase they are my team.

Rabbitohs should pick up a the win as the knights lineup is piss poor.

And im sorry mate, but the raiders are no match for roosters. History backs me up :)

Mundine wants to return to league in June ... hmm i personally think he is a cnut, talks it up too much ... but his quality would be welcomed at Raiders.

ahaha yeah smurfos i dont blame ya for tipping Roosters. I said in my above post i cant remember the last time we beat them. But i never tip against my Raiders.

bloody hell...storm get snapped by panthers after they snapped the broncos the week before. Panthers always had the class to match the storm and tonight they were brilliant. Defensively they were amazing.

C'mon Broncos!! Please not another loss...
 
I tipped tigers at first but changed to warrios coz of you smurfos !

ahaha but its all good because i tipped cowboys but changed to sharks because of you so its al level now :P

Seriously, how do you make your tipping decisions ? I too will just go by gut feelings.
 
Canberra courting Mundine

Canberra will have first dibs on luring Anthony Mundine to the NRL club when it hosts the former world boxing champion during the Raiders' clash with the Sydney Roosters.

Canberra chief executive Simon Hawkins confirmed Mundine would be a guest of the Raiders' corporate box match, adding he would speak to the former St George Illawarra five-eighth on whether he was interested in signing with the club.

Mundine, 29, said last week he would return to rugby league following his world title fight against Danish boxer Mikel Kessler in Sydney on May 11.

He is in Canberra to watch his brother-in-law Tyran Smith play his first senior match of the season after serving out a five-week suspension and cousin Beau Mundine compete in Premier League.

"He comes to quite a few Raiders games and he often comes into our Raiders box to watch the game and that's probably the case again today," Hawkins told AAP.

"Hopefully we'll catch up with him today."

Asked if he planned to offer Mundine a contract with the club, Hawkins replied: "We'll have a chat with him to see whether he is at all interested in coming to Canberra and if he is we'll start to talk in detail."

Mundine - who last played rugby league for the Dragons in 2000 - has been linked to the NZ Warriors, Sydney Roosters, Brisbane, Parramatta and South Sydney.

I would welcome the move. He is a cnut. But a class player. Hopefully Tyron Smith could convince him seeing as Mundine is his brother-in-law.

Excellent result. So far the only team in the NRL unbeaten. Sitting in first spot with 10 points. Played 4, Won 4, Bye 1 GD 60.

Did not expect to be saying this. I tipped us for the wooden spoon. But i better not get too carried away. Beating Roosters does this to you.

Well Mundine was tipped to go to Roosters. Hopefully he will see this and have a change in heart. If i had a bro in law i would want to play with him so go to raiders Mundine you cnut with skill.
 
I basically just tip for who i think is going to win. Apart from the broncos, who i tip to win by 13 or more every week because i support them.

I really thought roosters would smash ur lot today, but i was wrong, again. Good to see Ricky Stuart under some pressure now. I hate the cnut, and his crap team. Well done raiders.

How fkin good were the broncos today!! up 42-0 at halftime. Eels were shit and made like one chance in the first half. The real Broncos turned up today and put last week behind them and smacked paramatta. From prem contenders, to wooden spoon contenders, and now were prem contenders again.

Also well done to dragons on first win...and sharkies or should i say kimmorley beating the sea eagles. He is for sure in the test side after that. Warriors were shit and scotty prince was the hero again. Also no surprises with bunnies ripping apart poor knights.
 
Just watched the raiders vs sore losers roosters play because it was delayed on Fox. What a bunch of cnuts the roosters are. Finch and Walker especially. Cant handle defeat or the pressure. They try to pick fights ... though i dont understand why, with their body build i would assume 90% of the nrl could drop them with ease. The last 5 minutes Finch on several occasions kept pushing the raiders players away and they didnt even have the ball ... then would be in a tackle having his arm on the raiders player face and having the raiders players push him off. What a cnut and to think he played for us. Well he definately deserves to be with the roosters. Sore losing fecks.

Both teams played shit. Neither played their best football. Raiders lucky roosters played bad and kept on committing penalties getting us closer and closer to the try line. Some smart plays from Smith and President Clinton. Weyman at the end looks like he has picked up another injury. Poor fella. Only 22 and has had a shitload of injuries. He is contemplating about quiting the game because of them.

But anyways, i got 4 this week. This being my best week in tipping this year i think.
 
Roosters v Bulldogs this week. Viewed as probably the biggest clash in rugby league at the moment. Who would have thought them both hanging down the bottom at 11th and 12th spot. Although i reckon both will make the top 8 with ease come season end. They are just too good.

The roosters really need to sort out who players No 7. I think Firman should be playing there, although hes been crap...hes the best option. What he did at the dragons was amazing.

And the bulldogs just arent trying. I think the bye will have done them the world of good and they should bonuce back and hopefully cause the rooosters some more agony.

Also looking at the results this weekend. Every home team thumped there oponents. Maybe the raiders didnt but they certainly outplayed the roosters. This just shows what an advantage the supporters can be for there team. I know for a fact that if the broncos had of played in parramatta the score would have been much different. The supporters were great and the atmosphere at suncorp is brilliant. Australias equivalent of old trafford.
 
Selectors picked the aussie sqaud of 23. Im not sure but i think they have to nail it down to 17 come next weekend. I reckon the ones in bold will get left out...

Thank god they didnt pick matt cooper from dragons. he is decent and comes up with tries. But he is an overrated cnut. Hoepfully he plays for NSW cos he wont cause qld any probs...

If only that miller or whatever dude (Williams replacement) went down early and dived for the try line things would of looked and been different. Instead he overestimated his strength and underestimated Minichello's quality and strength and fecked up a perfect try. Then the daft cnut kept nodding away saying he got it down when deep down he knew he didnt. Good try saver by Minichello though. He is the one who won it for the Roosters. I didnt watch all of the second half. Kept falling asleep.

Yeah if i were a fan of the bulldogs i would be gutted. But since im not i will laugh :lol: :lol:. I hate both the teams and hopefully they will finish outside the top 8. :)

I feel more sorry for the knights. Something like a 20 point margin and they get beaten, yet again. After barge ass broke his jaw, his team lost it and the warriors turned it on.

And what a game from the BRONCOS!! Down by 12 and we showed our class yet again :D and won again.

Yianni, apparently your raiders gave the game to the sea eagles with errors and stupid decisions. Unlucky...i was hoping canberra were going to dish out a flogging to overrated manly this afternoon :(

oh well, got 4 out of 7 this week.

The first try was bullshit. Then as soon as we kept stuffing up in our own half our attitude changed. The players were tired throughout the whole 2nd half. Its like we gave up. Score no way reflects the match.

I tipped Roosters to win but Hope Dragons win.

Raiders were shit today. Their style of play has been pissing me off. Even when we are winning. We have no clue 20 metres out from the try line. We just run back and forth and lose metres. We have alot of stupid players in the team. Too many silly mistakes which cost us every time. We cant catch the ball which is a worry. Our squad depth is shit. Campese is useless. Without Jason Smith we are fecked this season. Clinton looks to be out for a few weeks. He is our best player ... we are fecked for sure. I have a feeling Knights will be getting their first win against us ... which is embarrassing. I tipped Raiders of course but always knew Storm would win.

I have 4/6 so far. Tipped Panthers and Raiders ... Cowboys and Storm won respectively.

We could definately use a player like Mundine and Mason in our side. Heard in the Footy Show Mason might not be a doggie next season. Hope Raiders at least make an effort to get him. Its good to see we have alot of young players coming up from the reserves but you need some quality players also. Its as though we are affraid to spend big ... but i havent got a clue about our financial position so we may be in trouble which is why we look to our reserves to come up.

Its not like we were out of the game from the word go. We only really lost it in the last 20 minutes. Lack of concentration and committment. No bottle even. If this happens everytime J.Smith is out then we will be fecked. Teams will target him every time.

Well done Dragons. Havent seen the match. Lost this tip. Originally tipped Dragons, changed to Rooster because my Dragons tip every week i have lost except 1 when they actually won. Now they decide to win when i tip against them ... good one feckers.

Im loving this season so far.
 
Best game of the season. Brilliant stuff from matthew head. What a player. To make the conversion is brilliant but to do it under pressure is out of this world. He made the try aswell.

Suck shit Ricky Stuart. I hope your loving the pressure and your miserable season continues :)
