Anyone follow the NRL on here? I thought i'd make a thread cos im a huge fan. What is everyones thoughts for this season. GO BRONCOS!!

Premiers: Broncos

1.Roosters (minor premiers)
2.Bulldogs
3.Broncos

Wooden Spoon: Sea Eagles

Rugby League in Australia...Sorry i thought there would be some fans...but everyone must only like football.

Roosters?? I'd rather see Parramatta or St George win it then them!

GO THE DOGGIES!!

Time to defend "our" trophy!!

There are a few NRL supporters about, GO THE MIGHTY ROOSTERS!!! Doggies? "our" trophy? Its only on loan for the season and the Bulldogs wont lift it again! (well fingers crossed!)

Honestly its a big call to say the Roosters will finish minor Premiers, cant see it this year. Id say top four to finish

1. Panthers
2. Bulldogs
3. Broncos
4. Roosters

And Manly for last place, Souths will come a gallant 14th!

Your having a laugh if you think the trophy belongs to Roosters Jason ... "on-loan" ... having a real laugh alright. I havent seen you lot secure the trophy, secured a final spot in the last 5 years yes but you have lost it 4/5 times.

Ill be supporting the Raiders like i always have since day one when i began watching League as a child. We are looking weak this year. We dont have sufficient depth and our main players are over 30 and injury prone so it will be a huge task to make the top 8 to fight in the finals. I will be happy nonetheless if we do make it.

My top 4 finish:
1. Bulldogs
2. Roosters
3. Broncos
4. St. George

St. George if they can keep Barrett injury free for majority of the season.

I have a feeling Parramatta will do really well. Warriors, Eagles, Sharks and Souths look alot stronger this year. We will see how they go. West Tigers usually look good and do well at the start but tend to drop off and just lose it at mid point. Knights will as usual rely heavily on Johns. Will be interesting to see how he does after so long off the field. Cowboys will rely on their spirits to guide them through. IMO losing Morrison will hurt them which is why i feel Eels will reap the benefits. His workrate is phenominal.

Its going to be hard to determine who will finish in the top 8. As much as i love my Raiders i have this really bad feeling they will get the Wooden Spoon.

This season looks to be the toughest imo. Alot of the teams who struggled last season look to have got their shit together. Warrios, Souths, Sharks, return of johns for Knights, Eagles, Tigers. Will be a brilliant season imo. Panthers and Storm will be tough and challenge for the top 4. Usually the teams who finished 7 or 8 dont look to challenge as much but every team in the top 8 this year will really be tough. Its just something about this year i feel every team is looking strong. No team will be a push over imo.

League is crap, Union is the real rugby !

I have no problem watching both ... i can never understand peoples mentality in only choosing to watch one of them.

Warratahs for Union.
Raiders for League.

AFL ... now this is a shithouse sport. Australias Faggy League if you ask me. Cant believe millions of people watch this, and how it generates millions ... i reckon because theres too many "through and through" Aussies who believe because its an aussie sport and we the only ones who play it they must support it. Thankfully here in Sydney people dont go crazy over it. Melbourne ... now thats a different story. Bellends.

It depends what you like...rarely do you find someone that likes NRL, AFL, Rugby Union and Football (soccer). NRL and football are my favourites, although ive been to a few AFL at the gabba and the atmosphere is great. Brisbane usually thumps everyone so its all good.

Union also is ok. I watch the world cup, but thats about it.

Cmon Broncos!! Great win on the weekend. We have the third best team on paper, if not second, behind the bulldogs.

1. Football (soccer)
2. NRL
3. Union

They are my preferences.

I have been told the atmosphere is great at AFL matches. AFL supporters always knowing and signing their clubs songs ... congrats to them but still the game is shit. I dont understand what all the hype is about really. Only thing that comes to mind is that its an "aussie" sport.

Yeah ive signed up to NRL tipping comp, Fast Fours have an oztips comp (my bro is a member in the fast fours forums and told me about the tipping comp) and also im in my uni's tipping comp. So 3 tipping comps.

Bad luck to the doggies. Brilliant display by the Cowboys. Wow are they looking fierce. They play to win and give it all. Thats brilliant stuff. They dont try to play pretty football ... but i thought they looked fantastic. Doggies werent up to it at all. Real shame how it took a 19 year old with an injury to come off the bench in the first half and play 19 minutes to finally score their first try and to then make the most tackles in the first half (17, next best was 15). What a player Sonny Bill Williams is though. Fantastic. Real gem of a player they have. Utah played aweful. I didnt think he had that many weaknesses in his game but Cowboys definately showed him up and really picked on him. Cowboys number 6, i forgot his name he was a former Doggies player, made that fantastic tackle which led to Utah coughing the ball up and Cowboys trying. Doesnt look like a big man but he picked Utah up like he was nothing ... and Utah is a big boy.

But anyways, Well done to the Cowboys, Bad Luck to the doggies. Common Raiders !

Yeah Cowboys really played well and got the crowd behind them. Bulldogs looked lost and couldnt really create anything and keep momentum.

How fkin good is Carl Webb. I cant believe we (broncos) let him go. He was absolutely ramming through there defences last night. Cant wait till he gets picked for origin. Thursten also improved on his performance last week and played a blinder against his old club. The Cowboys are really improved, and i think i will think again before i tip there oppostion to win by 13 or more :)

CMON Broncos!! Lets rip the kiwis apart!

feck me go Raiders !!

I thought we played pretty good. 5 new faces in the side and its great to see 3 of those faces scoring. Very proud of the lads. The end blitz of tries made up for the lost opportunities during the match. Im looking forward to seeing how we will fare up against a better side. Newcastle struggled. Johnny struggled also, i think he picked up a new injury and it looked like he played with it throughout the whole match. Shame because he is one of my favourite players i hope he doesnt get fed up and decide to call it a quits. They had some key players missing. Nonetheless im glad my team got their first win of the season. They played with some good spirit and worked really well. Maybe this might not be a terrible season for us after all ... who knows, this will be one of the toughest seasons, very hard competition and we were lucky to play a depleted Knights side. But ill take the 2 points anyways.

Common Raiders !

Carl Webb was pretty good 2-3 seasons ago but then found himself stuck in a hole. Looks like he is rejuvenated now and will live up to his potential. The commentators kept saying it throughout the match. Agree with them there. He is a bloody tough player. Ben Ikin i think it was said he Benches 200kg ... feck me it explains how he managed to palm Patton away as if he was a lil kid. Built player he is. Exciting one too. For a man his size he has some pace. Not lightning fast but damn good for his size. Few times he bulldozed through the doggies line and just pumped those legs towards the try line. Exciting player to watch ... hope he continues that.

Im looking forward to this years origin. So many players to watch and choose from. Will be one hell of a competition. Ive never been to an origin. Will try this year to go to one. Anyone been ? How is the atmosphere. My bro went few years back. Said it was sensational.

Ive never been to origin but i go to suncorp quite a lot. The atmosphere is great. Hopefully we can get karmichael hunt and carl webb to play for Qld this year. Should be a more even contest hoepfully.

How the hell did the warriors beat broncos. Bloody oath...i was going to go aswell...lucky i didnt! :(

Must also point out what a start the storm have made. They are looking unstoppable. They've cracked the 40 point barrier in their first two matches. :nervous:

Yeah Storm are looking stronger this year. Ive tipped against them twice now. cnuts.

i should get 21 points from that round. How crap...that round was a bit screwed up.

I havent seen todays matches. nrl site is down. I have no idea who won/lost.

Hopoate got sent off and looks likely to be banned for the rest of the season with it odds on that Manly will tear his contract up.

Just read that he jumped up and cracked the sharks player in the head (High tackle but a vicious one). Sharks player was 196cm tall ... which explains why he jumped up.

Why would he do such a thing ? Did they have a face off before that ?

Stupid person. He knocked him out and did some damage.

Have you seen it? It seemed like a deliberate attempt to seriously injure the head and so late that there can be no realistic attempt to claim that it was a late tackle gone wrong.

After his various other indisgressions I think he will be lucky to play again.

Yeah i read also how Sea Eagles might rip up his contract. Very stupid thing to do. I havent seen it but sounds pretty bad.

Yeah i saw it. It wasnt just a horrific tackle but it was also very late. He kind of jumped up and slammed his forearm into the poor guys head. And somehow the sharkies guy apologised.

Hopofarte just recently pleaded guilty and got 17 WEEKS! Well fecking deserved!

I still havent seen it. By the sound of it 17 weeks is a just punishment. Thats alittle over half the season gone for him.

And Manly have sacked him given past indisgressions.

Career over maybe?

A mate told me hes had like 28 suspensions for his whole career. I really doubt that anyone will sign him. He is finished.

What an idiot. He will look back on his career and ask himself what have i done ?

Sticking his fingers up another players ass will be his highlight.

Dragons may have Barrett back, If so they will win.

Sharks may have kimmorley back but im still going to tip Eels. Sharks were terrible last week.
