Nottingham Forest

It’s a clickbait comment really isn’t it? Try to rile up United fans and get millions of clicks… Put simply, while not ideal, United have the commercial and revenue generating power to get away with being run poorly and haemorrhaging money into the playing side of things. Brentford can’t and especially not with the new FFP rules coming in. That being said if we want to make another profit next time around it is relying on Toney going for big money in to add to the Raya money coming in soon. Will be interesting to see how long we can continue to make a profit while we stay in the Premier league - hardly any team does….
I'd guess a lot will depend on how your Toney replacement gets on, it's more of the same really in terms of signing a player to potentially make a profit on.

Fair play to them for turning up against that mob as much as they do.

Very early days, but I quite fancy Murillo and Milenkovic as the best CB pairing in the league outside of the clubs with Europe.

Elanga and Hudson Odoi would be brilliant subs for any clubs. For Nuno to use them the way he did today, fair play. Forest have a surprisingly quality bunch of players.

Murillo is really good.

I was kind of surprised they struggled so much last season. They have a some decent players. Felt for a while they could click and kick on to lower midtable.

I remember Milenkovic being massively rated a few years back. Think Man. United in Mourinho's time were looking at him so not sure if he just stagnated at Fiorentina.

Forest finally calmed down and gone for quality over quantity in the transfer market. Milenkovic, Alex Moreno and Ward Prowse are all huge upgrades on what they've previously had in those positions. With Gibbs White, Elanga and Hudson-Odoi there's more than enough for a comfortable mid table season.

Mind you I thought all this after they won 1-0 at Chelsea early last season and it fell apart pretty quickly after so let's see where they are in another two months but always a club I'd say plenty of neutrals like to see do well and being competitive in the top division.

the ref should be entitled to some of that 750k. his name was dragged through the mud off the back of their allegations and luton season tickets aren’t cheap.

Refs are running a cartel

Seems they are a law unto themselves. There's definitely a dodgy element to PGMOL after we've heard their VAR calls recently. Maybe one day a club will feel justified in taking a civil suit against them.
Too many irregular decisions and lack of accountability for me.

Everyone gets punished except City. Yeah yeah I know this is completely different, but feck 'em

The fine seems a bit over the top.

Could be just the PL laying the groundwork for giving City a proper punishment.

Or

They're trying to make it look like they can handle stuff without a regulator.

Either way, I see nothing wrong with this punishment. 750k is feck all to PL clubs.

Nothing to do with the PL, the punishment is from the FA

Seems excessive. Particularly seeing as Atwell was hideously bad in that match.

Quite an interesting read. Forests media team basically went way over the top but rather than the club think through matters they issued a second and then a third tweet which did absolutely nothing to take the heat out of the situation.
There were three incidents in that Everton game. Prior to the game Clattenburg got involved with Howard Webb trying to pressure Webb into removing Atwell because he was a Luton supporter . As was pointed out Everton at that point were every bit as much in a relegation battle so the suggestion that his Luton affinity would sway the result was not the cleverest.

Webb on behalf of PGMOL agreed one of those incidents should have been a penalty but the other two were viewed as being correct.

It seems even at this point Forest haven’t taken the tweet down nor have they shown any sort of concern for the impact on Atwell.

The FA believed this episode was at the higher end of the scale and whilst the panel agreed it was close to the £750k fine couldn’t be mitigated because even Forests owner has stoked matters in interviews.

It is a big fine but at the end of the day the sum was awarded by an IC not the PL or indeed the FA

Nuno is doing an unbelievable job there at the moment, fair play. I didn't think he'd bounce back from his humiliating Spurs stint so well.

Same here. Well done to him, don't think anyone expected Forest to be 3rd in November.

I still have dreadful memories of Nuno’s time at Porto with all the boring 0-0s but his teams are very good defensively.

He is a nice guy, glad he is doing well.
