He’s a Man Utd right winger who neither scores nor assists. What on earth is surprising about the criticism? Dan James got heavily scrutinized here and he cost 4x less and had more end product than this bloke.

The criticism imo seems more deserving of a player who doesn't contribute at all like an injured Martial or McT in midfield with no end product or other redeeming quality. Like I said, I have low expectations but at the very least, he's capable of linking up play, holding possession, tracking back etc.

Surprised at the criticism of the midfield pairing, when it was the midfield pairing responsible for our best performance of the season. We don’t set ourselves up to defend in midfield, regardless of the personnel. When we play the physical McTominay there, we push him up front anyway. So may as well play the two best players on the ball. Plus, because Eriksen doesn’t have the “legs”, he tends to sit deeper, which perversely gives us more cover. Amrabat and McTominay are all over the pitch like headless chickens, and can’t pass through the lines like Eriksen can. Would rather lose trying to play football, than lose running about aimlessly.
