Nordic Ghost Yeti (Scandi Carroll) | Haaland at City

So.......remember few years ago when we were morale winners? When we refused to enter release clause in his contract? Still think that we did right choice then?
Yep, great decision Woodward ….ffs!

Amazing goalscorer but there is a lot of Lukaku in him when it comes to general play.

He is only going to improve under Guardiola. Lukaku with the right attitude, skill and guidance can be lethal for any team. City have a gem in their hands.

Oh look at me! I'm the edgy and cocky badboy acting all hard!

This clown is an absolute cartoon.

He'll flop. He'll basically be Lukaku with good PR.

From a norwegian point of view I just don't see any bad boy. More like a goofy big kid doing what he loves most in this world. Scoring goals.

He’d have to stay a long long time to get city to 21 titles!

If Pep stays we could do it in 20 seasons, but he wouldn't stick around anywhere near that long.

Without Pep who knows what'll happen? It's not just finding a good manager, it's finding one who stays good for a long time. Tuchel won the CL with Chelsea and I already feel like we're in the beginning of his demise there.

Yes to the first part. And absolutely not to the second.

He looks as awkward with the ball under his feet, but he’s got a dreamy first touch compared to Lukaku, with every single body part. He can also play a simple pass, accurately, 9 times out of 10.

I do see what you’re getting at, but he was more complete at 19 than Lukaku is now.

You've got an international superstar now in the biggest sport in the world, people are going to be quick to put labels and hate on him, so best get used to that noise.

You're 100 % right. Including labels about playing style. The good thing is that it will be real stuff to discuss from now on, instead of preconceptions.

I really don't see the point in assessing players through such flimsy analogies, it's just lazy. People say "oh he reminds me of player x", and then go on to assume they've got some sort of blueprint that tells them how things are going to develop. Why would he be like Lukaku? Because he's a physically imposing goalscorer? He is already a much better player than Lukaku as far as I can tell.

Yes but your missing the point. Bayern attack you and leave spaces open as does most of the teams in the bundesliga where as a lot of prem teams sit deep. A lot of haalands goals are where he runs onto it from a through ball but if he has no space to run onto it will be more difficult. But yes he’ll still probably hit 25+ goals.

That's what he seems to like best, but he's not exactly out of his depth in a sit deep scenario either. With his strength and explosiveness he's not easy to pin down in constricted areas, and he's real smart and also unpredictable in his movement.

He has always been overrated but it will be interesting to see how he will fit in Pep's system now.

We have another Werner on our hands! Another striker that was developed in Germany turns out to be a fraud! Who's surprised?

Like I said before, he'll struggle to score 10 league goals.

I find myself wondering watching that game if City are that well coached into playing without a no.9 that he has to survive on scraps? It’s certainly different the wide men supplying a target man rather than making and taking the chances. I wonder if he might have a similar effect on city’s play style to Ronaldo on ours last year?

It won't be that bad but he might affect them enough for Liverpool to win the league. Getting rid of both Jesus and Sterling wasn't a good idea too, especially the latter.

Heard haaland only had 12 mins of game time before this game. Is that true?

There were huge gaps between he and KDB at times, that needs to be worked on.
I can see a really slow start and just kicking on later in the season

Pointless signing. Its never going to work with Pep. I think the only "out and out" CF about at the moment who would work at City is Kane.

I think we should probably wait a bit before writing him off tbh  But does have shades of Grealish though, I thought everyone who was saying he won't play well for City would be proven wrong, it's just a matter of time etc...

They didnt even need him plus all these Bundesliga players are so overhyped.
Pep will drop him and adjust the team by Oct.
Looks not fit enough and city s whole rhythm was missing. Their third match in this pre season total team looks jaded. He did okay but pace is missing from him.

I knew he might look a bit one dimensional but he surpassed all expectations in that regard today. A traffic cone when City lose the ball. I don’t see how any club can effectively play a high press with a player up front who is so statuesque and easy to dribble past. I guess this explains why Dortmund were a far better team before he became a first team regular?
