Non-televised academy matches

The U16s (or U17s?) beat Watford 2-0. Edward Ibrovic-Fletcher with one of the goals.
 
Merseyside Derby being postponed means this could technically now be shown by MUTV, although I doubt they will.
 
Sparta are showing it on their website, you need a subscription though which is about £5.

Did you write out this formation to reflect Amorim’s preferences or is this how they’re actually lining up? Really interesting if they’re switching to the 3 (5) at the back!

Wrote it based on who's starting and squad numbers. Looks like it's another match with three at the back for the U21s.

The u21s played a 3 at the back for 45 mins last week against West Ham. Travis Binnion has said the u21s will try to replicate Amorim’s style but have had to deal with injury returns which also affects what players are available.

But it was very much Amorim style for the first half last week. Kamason at RWB very high with Sharpe playing inside almost like a second striker. Left side Amass would come inside when Ennis held width but they were always swapping.

Ah ok, understood. Cheers for the colour, I appreciate it. I hadn’t heard that from Binnion so I’m intrigued to see whether he’s good enough to adapt himself to the change! It’ll be fun to see how quickly the lads get themselves comfortable with it and importantly, the effect on results over the rest of the season…

Kukonki, Fredricson and Thwaites in the squad, replacing Ogunneye, Armer and Mantato from the first leg. Tyler Fletcher also coming on for his brother Jack.

Probably nothing.

As we all know we’ve got a couple of really good age groups and you want to give these experiences to as many talented players you can.

Add the exceptionally good injury situation into the equation and you know good players will miss out on matches. Just like Thwaites and T.Fletcher missed the first leg.
