Yeah I hate to say it but the money spent on Antony & Mount could have been utilised better
Both of these are on ETH and John Murtough, they wanted them at any cost well I believe new owners will instantly get rid of JM and ETH will need a great season to keep his job, he’s made a lot of mistakes but he also has huge strength of character and confidence in his own methods which you have to respect
Agree to some extent but look at the shocking cost of even a merely GOOD player this summer. 115m for Caicedo? 105m for Rice? To borrow Fergies old quote there really is no value in the market and the players you mention, although far from good value exactly, seem more par for the course these days.
Also to add @NoPace was spot on with assessments in this thread and a LOT of your prospective signing ideas came to life, if not necessarily for the clubs listed.
Not sure who else is worth signing at this point from England at least. I would definitely be looking abroad for our deadline day deals.
