No Real for us then

if we at least draw tomorrow!

Looks like the other two Italian teams will top their groups (Inter already have), and Roma can't be in the same group as Real, so they must have one of the other three, which means, as those other three will probably end up group winners, no other group winner can be in Real's group. Only Italians!

Pisses me off that does, they're ripe for the picking at the moment.

Apologies if i have missed something painfully obvious, but i don't get where your coming from.

As group winners, we will be with 1 other group winner and 2 runners up, so presumably we have every chance that we will be drawn with Real.

Yes, but Real cannot play Roma again (second in their group), and as the other three Italians will probably win their groups, they must have an Italian, but not Roma! So, that means their other group winner is Italian, it cannot be us if we win our group.

Cant be us anyway apparently, as we're seeded along with Real. So will be in the first pot of four.

It'll be tough whatever, there's a lot of tough sides left, all the good one's have gone through. :D

Along with Valencia and Barcelona.

So guess what?

We've got Deportivo again! <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Which means that we cant have Milan either!

Roma + Inter or Juve!

Please dont let us get Basle - they are the best side in Europe. <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" /> <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" />

Don't mock them, they'd probably do us the way we're playing at the moment.

Don't mock themYep, they will most probly turn out to be a "leverkusen"type team. As for who next, lets hope the luck runs on our side.

they could do us the way we're playing at the moment, but i doubt they're Leverkusen yet.. they scored 3 goals and couldn't hold the pressure, lost 3 in the second half and was bombarded with all the crap, you name it. they're not quality. had a lucky run that will come to an end in the second phase. m2c.

you meant that Basle are also the "good ones" surely! but yep, their team spirit will be high and if we do face them they'll think they're better than us. dangerous!

No, I think they're shit actually, the way they folded like that, so all the good one's have gone through, and a couple of shit ones, even one managed by a spurs reject, rated the worst team in the tournament.

I doubt that Basle will start thinking that they are better then us RUnited.

It was a good result for them, but it'll be the pinicle of their season IMO. Look at the Olympiakos against Leverkusen, they went down hill pretty quickly after that. It's a one off!

We're a good European side that is happening to play rubbish in our league. Liverpool are a good English side that play rubbish in Europe. It's a different mentality that is required to play the two at the highest level, and we used to be able to switch from one to the other with ease. Liverpool are like us but in reverse IMO.

Except Bayern and Liverpool!

i agree, as i also voiced very similar opinion to yours earlier..

basle won't go any further is in my opinion too.. but with their fighting spirit they might just make us work harder should they fall into our group.. and you know that right now 'working harder' isn't in our vocab! shame!

weaste took his time trying to explain to all of us.. why not read his posts before saying anything?

there's nothing preventing us from getting ajax or dortmund..

They lost but qualified as Lyon only drew.

This is all too heavy for me. I'm gonna rest now <img src="graemlins/yawn.gif" border="0" alt="[Yawn]" /> :)

Or lose 0-1. That will work to. Ofcource, against a depleted Leverkusen lineup I expect nothing less of a victory. Normally ;)

Anyhow, the way the CL is shaping, we'll have one very strong team in our group as all group winners look very good. Whoever we get from the 3rd and 4th seeds are very passable, although no one really wants to get Roma (Who looks bad by the way but still won at Madrid).

so whats the worst possible group we could be in?
something like

man utd
valencia
ajax
roma

If we win tonight, we can't get a group with Real, Barcelona, Valencia, Leverkusen, Arsenal, or Milan.

We will definatly get Deportivo however.

Ok, <a href="http://www.uefa.com/uefa/News/Kind=16384/newsId=42253.html" target="_blank">it's confirmed</a>

RG and I were right all along, No Real, Valencia or Barça for us.

Deportivo is definate, and not meeting Milan is also definate.

Well done to Newcastle too.
