Gaming Nintendo Switch

I have heard good things about this. I'll add it to the watchlist.

Never heard of this but just watched a video and it looks fun. Again adding to the watchlist.

Thanks guys.
Yeah I'm sure you can pick them up for not that much if you just have notifications on for sales.

That definitely does not look up my street! Thanks for the suggestion though!

It looks so janky, and when I first loaded it I was thinking 'wtf have I just paid for' but 8 hours later I was still playing it...

I'm seriously liking what I read about Celeste... I feel I'll get that or Cuphead...

Can someone who's played Celeste tell me how hard the platforming is?

If it helps, I finished the White Palace of Hollow Knight pretty easily but know I don't have the skills to beat the Path of Pain...

Super hard but not frustrating because you only ever go back to the start of the short section when you die. And when you pull some bits off you feel like a god, even if it took 50 tries.

That sounds different to Cuphead, where you go all the way back to the start of the level. I didn't find that too frustrating, even if I spent a couple of hours clearing a single level. That could just be me not being brilliant though.

I don't know anything about Celeste, but can recommend Cuphead.

Arrgghh these two games are giving me a headache. They're the same price too

I might have to toss a coin.

I'll second what @Shamwow said. The levels are kinda single screen-ish so you don't go very far back. I thought it was a great game. Tight platforming, good story etc.

Sweet. I think decision made.

Just wait until Cuphead is on sale again. It's well worth the £12 or so it often gets reduced to.
I will look out for this for sure thank you.

I'm loving Super Mario Galaxy so far. The only gripe I have is that since it was made for the Wii even menus are navigated by using the cursor, because of course Nintendo wanted to use motion control for everything even when it's pointless. But yeah, good game.

Reading great things about Bowser Fury, but it also seems like it's going to be a bit short.
Well I guess it's more like a bit of DLC than a new game. I haven't played 3D world so I'll get it regardless, I think.

So I've been playing and enjoying this. I've been trying to get strawberries as well as I reckon the more you get the better the ending?

Any way, I saw online that there are also many hidden strawberries that I have missed.

Question: is it worth backtracking to get all of these or do the strawberries not make that much of a difference?

I never really went for all the strawberries except the obvious ones. So I didn't really go out of my way. I think there's a post-game section where you need a certain amount of strawberries, if I remember correctly.
I don't actually know if there is more than one ending.

I'm not even sure all the strawberries are possible from the start without going back, doesn't it take a bit before you get the dash? Or am I getting mixed up with hollow Knight.

You're getting mixed up with Hollow Knight. You get the dash straight away in Celeste.

I think I'll get the strawberries but I won't go out of my way searching for them.

I want all the B-Sides though so will hunt for those tapes.

Loving it though so thank you for those that recommended it. It's really helping me get over Hollow Knight

I think there's a double dash at some point though.

One of these really weird (but true facts)........

The founding of Nintendo is closer to the founding of the United States of America, the U.S. Civil War and the French Revolution than it is the release of the Switch.

Yep, can't wait.

My and the missus love a good coop platformer and I think Bowser's Fury looks really good.

I was disappointed with the 3d collection so I hope this runs better.
Yeah I'll get it as well. My partner likes the Mario games in general and we played New Super Mario Bros Deluxe or whatever it's called together so this should be fun too.

Wait Wtf. In Hades everytime you die you start right from the absolute beginning? And I have to beat each boss again and again and again?

I don't know what this game is but I just have to

Should have gotten Celeste pal, you start pretty much where you die.

The game is absolutely epic, played for the first few hours and literally 2 minutes in you were in the middle of a swarm of motherfeckers. I beat the first boss after a couple of tries and thought alright, onto the next area. The game is about dying over and over again, but really if you start right at the start everytime then what the absolute feck.

I'll get to Celeste for sure as well.

Yeah I played Dead Cells for a bit and at some point I just didn't really make enough progress to persevere with the samey-ness of it all.

How hard the bosses get? I faced the first one Meg and have died once in first 4 tries.

After a few runs and learning which builds are best you'll probably consistently reach the last boss. That's where the real challenge is.

Once you realise most bosses and enemies can be scammed if you have deflect on dodge or attack you'll fly through the stages.

Yeah I'm able to reach the first boss without taking damage after few tries. The buffs are great but even without that basic reflexes and dash are enough to evade most stuff. Also great that those spikes and explosives kill foes as well.

I was a bit taken aback as I thought there will be a plethora of bosses but with such low number of bosses it should be fine. I am coming off playing Hollow Knight which has like over 40 bosses so I just imagined I'd have to beat those many to eventually finish the game haha.

Overall the combat, dialogue and humor, abilities boons etc and art design and music are all awesome. Can see this game being massively addictive.

Is the Switch still a good option?

Thinking of getting Mario Kart and 3D World and a couple of controllers - which is close to £500.

I've heard of rumours Wii Pro, but not sure if I should look for 2nd hand device
