Requesting: Your top 20-25 Switch games?

Indy games most welcome as there's usually hidden gems there I've never even heard of.

Need to see if there's anything I can grab last minute.

Is Skyrim any good?

Outside of all the usual ones? Or do you not really know any?

If the latter: Dead Cells first, thank/hate me later ;)

20-25, that's a lot of games...

Some Indie games I liked a lot:

Hollow Knight
Shovel Knight
Super Meat Boy (if you like breaking your controller in half because it's not fair that this game is so ridiculously hard and feck off piece of shite garbage dick game)
Darkest Dungeon (The above goes for this game too, but for different reasons)
Celeste
Blossom Tales

Some not indie games I liked a lot:
Mario Kart
Mario Odysee
Super Smash bros
Zelda BotW
Fire Emblem Three houses
Octopath Traveler
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Bayonetta 2

Skyrim is an amazing game, dunno how it runs on Switch though.

I'm sure there's more, but I dunno.

Outside the usual, mostly. I've got Zelda, Maria etc. (all untouched) but would just like a few gems if I'm missing out. Slap on the wrist, but I've really not been paying much attention to games in general for a while (not just the Switch) so I am almost completely out of the loop.

By the way, have you played Sin & Punishment 2?

Check out the Steamworld games, heist in particular is amazing.

Aside from the ones mentioned above, Golf Story and the SteamWorld games are worth a look as well.

EDIT: And now SteamWorld was mentioned as well.

I'll do a top two.
1. Hollow knight, a must play.
2. Ys 8: Lacrimosa of Dana, a must play for any rpg fan.

I started that game after you (I think it was you) mentioned it here. I liked it, but it somehow made me want to replay FF12, which I did. Forgot about Ys though..

Why are you not playing Zelda right now you absolute mad man?

FF12 is tons of fun on the switch. Prefer it there over other consoles or even steam
Ys8 is different in that the game is more action rpg, but it's so good for the story and gameplay that even someone like me who loves turn based over everything else thought that it wasn't a negative that it was more real time combat.

Yeah, from what I played Ys seemed very fun. It has that Suikodenish charm, which Im a sucker for.

It's the hack n slash thing that gave me doubts as well, but I will try it again soon.

On a side note, anybody heading over to Japan next year for the opening of the Nintendo world theme park in universal studios?

So I've pretty much gone all out and purchased the 2-3yrs of games I should've done at the time all in one go. Ordered a micro sd card and once that's here I'll grab the remainder from the e-shop.

Good thing is games are a worthwhile investment and this lot will last a long time.

Thanks for the recommendations, fellas.

Did you get hollow knight?

Watching that ryu guy on youtube is amazing. Don't think I'd have the patience (or Switch) for most of the Super Expert levels.
Yeah they can be really frustrating  Totally worth it though when you manage to beat them.

Also, he said he's got Maria (sic) so I assume that includes SMM.
Oh yeah good point, didn't see that.

Downloaded the Dragon Quest 11 demo it seems really good.

Looks and plays pretty well in handheld mode and I believe the demo is almost 10 hours long.

Hollow Knight and Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze are both amazing games, the Bayonetta games are fantastic, there's also Astral Chain coming out in a few days and I feel like it's going to be a game that everyone should check out.

I've beat it on PS4, the game is really really good but the Switch version is going to be better I think with the symphonic music and 2D mode added.

Next month is loaded!

DaemonXMachina
Link's Awakening remake
Dragon Quest XI S
Ni Nu Kuni
Spyro Trilogy
Final Fantasy VIII remaster
Ori and the Blind Forest

I'm probably grabbing 2 of those(Link's Awakening and Ori for now, although really interested in playing Ni Nu Kuni again)

Not for the switch, but Code Vein also coming next month.
Going to be good to finally play Ni No Kuni.

Yeah it's a great month. Think I'll pick up Astral Chain and Zelda myself. I'd also love to play Ni No Kuni again. Really enjoyed the sequel but the first is way better.

I'm kind of sad that I didn't wait for DQXIS, has so much new content but can't really pay 60$ on it after I've already beat it once.

Are any of the DQ games on Switch more adventure-y rather than too RPG-ey, like not too much grinding or random battles etc? Something on the lighter side.

I don't think there are any other main series game than DQXI, trust me though DQXI is fantastic and doesn't really require much grinding, I haven't played the DQ Builder games, but I don't think they are adventury? I know nothing about them tbh.

I like how it looks, so I might try it sometime!

Builders, try the demo, it's half Minecraft, half N64 Zelda, all awesome.
That sounds good. I thought it looked nice from screenshots but thought if it was just exactly like Minecraft and nothing else then it wouldn't really appeal to me, having some Zelda mixed in though might :D
