Nooo please no more Maple Leafs fans I can't take it.

Maple Leafs= The Liverpool of hockey.

Liverpool comparisons aside, Toronto is a Canadian Hockey institution. Part of the glory of supporting the team lies in the fact that they haven't won the championship for so long. Once they do, there will be celeberations throughout Canada unlike anything seen before.

I know but some Leafs fans put their team above everyone else like Liverpool fans do. When every season starts you guys think you will win the cup and it always end in failure which is quite fun actually hehe. How many players does Leafs have contracted 7 or something right?

Which supporter wouldn't put their team above any other?

It is true that we believe we will win the cup each year, only to have our hopes dashed every time. Trust me it is not fun. '67 is a long time.

However, the team has endured some tough years under the ownership of Harold Ballard and things have changed since then. The guy didn't want to win just make money for himself.

I think 7 or 8 are under contract but changes surely need to be made anyway. The only true scorer under contract is Sundin. If the Leafs drop most of the deadweight in their roster, they would be able to go with a completely open roster in a free agent-heavy market and make some good buys. Any Canadian player always wants to play for Toronto at some point in their career. They at least have that aspect going for them.

Guys like Belfour and Nolan are too old and they need to go.

It will be intersting to see what happens. We could luck out and get the first pick and take Crosby. That would solve all of our problems. Ha.

A lot of teams are a mess atm hehe. Should be some interesting rumors the next couple of weeks. My team Colorado only have 11 under contract and needs to resign a couple of big names, Blake might be sacrified :( I hope Lacroix uses his magic.

No I'm not from Chicoutimi-Jonquirere  When I was younger I didn't have favourite team in hockey, only favourite players so when my big idol Patrick Roy went to Colorado and Forsberg was already there it felt natural supporting them. Still hurts that Roy left hockey 2 years ago :(

It's hard to forget the Roy incident in Montreal when the Red Wings absolutely throttled him. I remember his fake salute to the crowd then just leaving the ice. Unbelieveable.

I also remember the day he got traded and how much of a shock it was.

No surprise they won the cup the same year.

Something the Leafs have lacked since '67, a top 3 goaltender. Closest was Joseph, a total sellout. Glad to see he won nothing with the wings.

Kiss my ass ....!

My favorite Roy moment was when he and Roenick had words and Roy said something along the lines, "I can't hear what Jeremy has to say since I have two rings in my ears."
