The NHL/NHLPA have come to an agreement over the CBA deal and with both sides just having to ratify it next week, the 2005/2006 season will begin in October.
This is great news, details are still sketchy, but some of the figures being touted are that clubs will have to have up to 54% of all income on salary, and the maximum cap is $40m. That's going to make things very interesting, with a minimum budget being suggested at $20. It is a gap which some teams will be able to exploit, but it will I hope bring some of the small market teams back in with a chance.
So without any bias in this statement, let the fun begin to see who the Oilers beat for next years Stanley Cup......
