NFL Thread 2013-14

#54 is an idiot. Stupid, stupid penalty.

C'mon Niners...big game today against the Pack...

The Packers have spent a lot of time trying to figure out the read-option. I actually wouldn't be surprised if the Niners hardly use it today.

I need Frank Gore to pick up the slack for Ridley's ineptitude on my fantasy team.

Am curious to see how Gore does this season. He has just hit 30, and RB's tend to slow down quite a bit around that age. On the plus side he has been a bit more rested last season than in the past, with both Hunter and James backing him up, so hopefully he has a few more seasons left!

Getting feisty in the Packers game. Matthews buried Kaepernick. Face shoving ensues.

After all the comments during the week, I knew there would be at least one illegal hit on Kaepernick.

But great response by the Niners to get the TD on the ensuing play.

Matthews is a fecking idiot, going to get flagged on everything near to questionable after going out and saying he was going to target Kaepernick.

I mean, it should be freaking obvious that you're going to try and stop the most important players on the other team, "We're planning on scoring more points than the other team, we believe that scoring more points is the best tactic to win this game...."

Nice drive by the Niners.

Boldin is a very good acquisition for them, having a very good game.

Penalties hurting the Niners. Stupid idiots costing me valuable fantasy points.

Cecil Martin is an idiot. Pointless jabbering, states the obvious and hardly gives any analysis. Only that numpty Bradlee Van Pelt is worse.

Carlson offers so much more than anyone who regularly appears on Sky.

Oh god..... Van Pelt is actually going to show up at some point, isn't he?

Yep, they usually have him for the Playoff games. He is truly awful. No idea why they bring him back every season.

I remember his great insight from last season: "The kickoff is the start of the game".

fecking hell, I gotta go make a note of that valuable information.

I wonder who Carlson will have with him this season, guy last season was ok, but the big fella from the season before was fantastic. Always had very interesting questions to get Carlson going.

Great catch by Nelson in the lead up to the TD.

Both offenses have been brilliant so far. Another excellent drive, Niners now in front.

Another big play from Boldin and that will surely secure the win for the Niners.

Great game.

Very impressive from both offenses but Boldin & Kaepernick stood out.

Great game. Very disappointed with the loss, but first game of the season. My other team (Seattle) won a tough game against Carolina (who I tipped to be in the playoffs this season). San Francisco offense looked good despite all the injuries though - bastards.

Same issues as last season affecting Packers. At least they stopped the running game for the most part of the Niners.

Still Nat, which is good news. Great chemistry with Carlson (the best pundit in NFL fullstop). Can't remember the other guys name off the top of my head, not a chance he was returning here though if you're on about the quite biggish (weight wise) guy. Didn't mind him but he was way too sloppy, Nat is a much better presenter and partner for Carlson.

The bad news is that Vernon fecking Kay is now on C4. feck!

The less Vernon Kay says the better #LetCarlsonSpeak

Interesting question: would fans switch support from their NFL teams to a London team if there was one? I probably wouldn't, but maybe if I got to go to a few games I might change my mind.

Agree with Carlson. Needs to be a team in LA before there can be one in London. Although, I think there's a few issues to resolve before you can have an international team.
