NFL Picks Week 15

Desert Eagle said:
The playoffs are almost among us boys. Superbowl picks anyone? RC the chargers won't make it buddy.
Chargers will be there, for a few years too :p

Home field means weather won't play a factor and nobody can match the Chargers for talent.

AFC - Chargers
NFC - Bears (but it doesn't really matter *** the Chargers are going to smoke whatever emerges from that pool of shit)

Last offense heavy team to win the SB was St.Louis behind Faulk and Warner.
Faulk and Lt have their similarities but Rivers will get stage fright playing defenses like the Bears or Ravens. That said I thought Big Ben would choke last year as well.(He did but they won)

Chargers have great balance, their D is excellent (leads league in sacks) and is starting to get healthy :)

Here's this weeks results. Spread winner in bold, Game winner has score next to name.

haha. the Doc is on form, no doubt. there were some very surprising results this weekend, 'specially in the NFL.
cmon, who would have thought the Redskins would beat New Orleans and the Niners would beat Seattle. classes for me begin tonight.

Sweet sweet victory...until my Bengals lose tonight, that is...

then it's a tie.

Doc, you realize you should be playing Pro-Line right?

You do better than most if not all the NFL prognosticators.

Congrats buddy.

Doc, you wanna do a summary for me - who's going to the playoffs?

Dude, I don't even know who's first in their division...but I'll have a look for ye.

I really should, mate, but I can't be arsed.

Well, it looks like Baltimore have a playoff berth in the AFC, San Diego and Indianapolis have clinced their division titles. This leaves us with the Patriots looking reasonably untouchable in the AFC East and the NY Jets, Cincinnatti Bengals and Dever Broncos on the outside looking in and hoping for those two wildcard spots.

Over in the NFC the big story is...Da Bearss. Chicago have clinched first in their division and home field advantage. The New Orleans Saints have also clinched their division, with Dallas having achieved a playoff berth in the NFC East. The NFC West divsion is shaping up to be an end of season showdown courtesy of San Francisco's big, big win over Seattle on Thursday. St. Louis is in with a shout there as well. Look for the Philadelphia Eagles to make the playoffs with a wildcard berth and one of the afforementioned 49'ers or Rams to take up the other wildcard spot. Far far away and hoping to score that playoff wildard spot are longshots Atlanta and Green Bay.

Soldier Field is a tough place to be in the winter. I can see Chicago going all the way, only the Packers could be expected to be immune to weather conditions in Chicago in December and January and I don't believe they'll be around when the real party starts anyway. As it stands, I see the Bears beating the Patriots in the final.

Since I actually spent some time on this it will all be horribly incorrect in the end, I'm sure.

nobody will beat Da Bears... it's just a fact. They can play poorly and still win. Sign of champions.

MS MSP said:
Doc, you forgot my Giants.
They'll still make it with 2 wins against the Saints and Skins.

Nah, they're my team in the Red Cafe NFL comp so they're not going anywhere. Plus, I don't see them beating New Orleans and with Philly's better record it doesn't look good, even when they lose to Dallas next round, they should beat Atlanta to go through at the expense of the Giants.

RedCanadian said:
Good work Doc....

agreed. I'm really lazy when it comes to stuff I don't really care about.
I'm still confused though but that's more due to too many drugs in my youth.

AFC
Division Leaders

West - Chargers (12-2) Games left: @Seatle, Arizona
North - Baltimore (11-3) Games left: @Pittsburgh, Buffalo
South - Indianapolis (11-3) Games left: @Houston, Miami
East - New England (10-4) Games left: @ Jacksonville, @Tennesee
If Chargers win out they are No-1 seed. If Chargers and Baltimore records are the same then Ravens are No-1 seed.

Wild Cards
(N) Cinncinatti (8-6) Games left: @Denver, Pittsburgh
(W) Denver (8-6) Games left: Cinncinatti, San Francisco
(S) Jacksonville (8-6) Games left: New England, @Kansas City
(E) New York Jets (8-6) Games left: @Miami, Oakland

Two wild cards from these four (unless one of the four 7-7 teams can get in the mix).

NFC

Division Leaders
North - Chicago (12-2) Clinched No 1 seed.

South - New Orleans (9-5) Games left: @New York Giants, Carolina.
East - Dallas (8-6) Games left: Philadelphia, Detroit
West - Seatle (8-6) Games left: San Diego, @Tampa Bay
New Orleans have clinched their division.
Looks like East division is down to Philadelphia-Dallas next week. Loser goes into wild card mix.

Wild Cards
(E) Philadelphia (8-6) Games left: @Dallas, Atlanta
(E) New York Giants (7-7) Games left: New Orleans, @Washington
(S) Atlanta (7-7) Games left: Carolina, @Philadelphia

Other teams holding on to hope are at (6-7).

BAh! I forgot to check last night. I wouldn't bet on the Bengals but for the soft spot I have for them. So there you have it. Congrats, RC, way to make up ground.

mehro said:
Doc, would you be kind enough to PM me your predictions next week before posting them? thanks.

It appears I'm developing quite the reputation.

RedCanadian said:
mehro, make sure you don't pick Cinci, no matter what the Doc says.... :D

Like betting on Cleveland, I would always advise against going with the Bengals. Do as I say, not as I do.

heh-heh the doc has actually sent me his picks. you all are fecked. i'm winning it this week.

PS: doc, i was only kidding. i don't actually bet or anything. but thanks anyway.
