NFL Dynasty League

@Eboue needs to use the invite link I sent him March 3rd
@Jagga7 needs to respond to the post I tagged him in March 4th

Alto doesn’t know his onions when it comes to QB play but he’s put it on a plate for us with the charter. Respond when he speaks for feck sake.

Since not everyone is on discord and there is not a threadmark, here are the immediately relevant parts of Alto's masterpiece:

League Calendar
May 15th MFL site is updated to next season.
May 31st KEEPER DEADLINE – All teams must be at or below the 20-man roster limit (DUES MUST BE PAID)
June 1st DRAFT – Five rounds, to be completed by the end of the month.

During NFL Preseason
Waivers clear on Wed after each set of preseason games. No regular add/drops allowed
otherwise. Budget separate from in-season budget.

Week 1 KICK-OFF
Week 10 –Sunday Kickoff TRADE DEADLINE – No trades allowed after this.
Week 14 PLAYOFFS BEGIN.
post-Week 16 Add/Drops locked for off-season.
post-Superbowl Trade Restriction Lifted.

Draft
IV. DRAFT AND OFF-SEASON SCHEDULE
A. Keeper Deadline – May 31st
1. All teams must be at or under the 20 man roster limit by the keeper deadline.
B. Rookie and Free Agent Draft – June 1st
1. The draft will be an online draft with the order determined by the previous year
standings.
2. The draft will be 5 rounds of 12 picks each.
3. The draft does not snake. If a league member has the first pick in the first round, they
will have the first pick in every round (barring trades).
4. There is no hard limit on the ‘time to pick’, but don’t be an arse. Maximum it should take
is 12 hours. Anyone taking forever, pick after pick, will be cautioned

Alright, the real draft is done. Time to get our shit together.

@Eboue can you threadmark the above post with all the relevant dates listed? (note: I don’t remember if the playoff dates changed with the 17 game season)
@altodevil just a reminder to assign me the ‘23 1st & 2nd picks from @Jagga7 when they join Sleeper.

Re-posting this link for reference to access the charter. If you’re not familiar with Discord, it’s sort of like a list forums that require an invite. You don’t need the app as the browser interface works just fine.

Just in case people still think for whatever reason that I haven't sent him an invite:

Just came out of a rookie draft with Hall, London, Robinson and McBride. Chuffed.

You mean all participants have joined the league and you’ve drafted - impossible!

It really helps if you can harass them in real life on a weekly basis :D

A trivia question that popped up the other day was the only 3 players in NFL history that had 1k rec yds, 5 rec TDs, & 5 rush TDs. The answer was Deebo Samuel, Marshall Faulk, and Roger Craig. One of the players certain to be featured in the 1st round of our rookie draft is a cousin of one of those three. Who are the cousins?

Breece Hall is Roger Craig’s cousin

Based on nothing at all I guess Garrett Wilson

I’m just going to bump this thread every day until the league is sorted. Today’s trivia:

Before the NFL showed us what they thought of the QBs (not a lot) and the WRs (a lot), there was some speculation that no offensive skill position player would go in the top 10. If that had come to pass, it would have been the first time it occurred in a NFL draft since:
  1. 2010s
  2. 2000s
  3. 90s
  4. 80s
  5. 60-70s
  6. WWII
  7. When the monkey found a stick at the beginning of ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ and evolved to using tools and operate a microwave and then became Hal9000…or…something like that.

I tried your first game with no response

Quite fitting with the league to be fair

Definitely #7
Correct! It has never happened. Which leads to today’s random useless factoid…

Bumping this thread until the league is sorted, day 3. This past week in NFL history: May 19, 1935 The NFL agrees on holding a college draft starting in 1936. The rule regarding eligibility (4 years out of high school instead of 3 then) was already in place after the legendary Red Grange’s early exit created a storm of controversy. It remains today, not primarily to protect young players’ safety, but because $$$: NCAAFB is a massive business itself and was more powerful than the NFL for much of their coexistence. Being a free farm/developmental league for the NFL also helps…

Hope you’ve got a long list prepared because 2021 will be the year your trivia questions will be from by the time Alto / Eboue / Jagga take their fingers out of each other’s bums.

Always amazes me how old some NFL players are when they come into the league compared to NBA players. Joe Burrow was almost 24 when he got drafted, meanwhile Jayson Tatum is also 24 and feels like he’s been around for an eternity already.

The Bears drafted a WR in the third round who’s fecking 25  That’s as old as CMC is.
