NFL 2023

Yeah getting to the stadium is a chore. Train out of Manhattan and then a change and then another train to the stadium, which is in the middle of nowhere. Impossible to get to without taking the train or by driving, unless you stay in the town it’s in but then you’d only do that if you were just there for the game.

I don’t have too much to compare to tbh.

I’ve watched NFL at Gillette, Wembley, MetLife and Spurs. And I’ve watched football at OT (and incidentally Middlesborough but anyway).

As a stadium, Spurs wins for me. Organised and lots of concessions and toilets which means queues are well managed even during half time rush.

But god it’s a real pain to get to.

Then Wembley and MetLife aren’t that dissimilar to be honest. I think MetLife has better views but honestly that stadium needs covers for the stands even if not a full roof.

Gillette is obviously meaningful as a Pats fan but you can tell that it’s aging. And I got soaked on Sunday safe for my poncho so, again, criminal these stadiums don’t have as part roof to cover the top stands at least.

And OT is … cramped, aged, and genuinely in need of investment.
I've done a few games at Fedex field the last few years and we're going to the niners game later this year. It is a shit stadium, and a ballache to get to. You can get the metro to Morgan Boulevard but that's on the wrong side for us and it's a mile from the stadium anyway. We'd have to go into DC and come back out to do that.
I just learnt a new NFL rule.

It's a really fecking stupid rule.
It’s terrible. It’s completely overpowered in favour of the defence

What would be a good compromise? Maybe penalize to the opposition 20 and play next down as X-down and goal? Meaning if the play was 2nd down it would now be 3rd down. But if the play had resulted in a fist down it would be first and goal from the 20. If it was a 4th down play then it could be a turnover on downs.

It is ludicrous to award the defense possession when they never gained it.

Is there an active QB that gets more one yard TDs than Hurts?

When QBs get these short scores it often reminds me of that line in Varsity Blues, "One for Wendell. Slot left 25 dive on 1."

Insane that in 6 minutes of game time this game has gone from being potentially 14-13 Vikings to 27-7 Eagles

They have perfected the art of pushing his ass over the line on 1 down situations so why try anything else

The 2 worst looking helmets in the NFL on show tonight.

Good win. Running game was excellent and Swift was brilliant. D also quite good but need to close out games better. Just need Hurts to step up now

Eagles go 2-0 without looking particularly brilliant in either game but the important thing is to be 2-0, can’t win the 1 seed in September but you can lose it (9ers last year). They can work on problems throughout the season. Their schedule weeks 9-14 I think is laughably bad on paper, lucky for them they have a bye week in week ten but

Cowboys
Bye
Chiefs
Bills
9ers
Cowboys

is something

The Game in 40s last week were all fine but last night's game sucked big time. There was a commercial in there and after that the sound didn't match the images, was lacking for about ten seconds for the rest of the game, very annoying.

Also it's called Game in 40 and they are making every edition of it around 48mins long when there is no need for that - first world problems at its finest, I know, but not a hard thing to just get right.

I'm not digging the Eagles new OC. His playcalling is a world away from Steichen. Drop backs and passes to the LOS for a gain of 1 are pretty grim to watch. A waste of a stacked offence. It surely has to get better?

Swift is a baller. I had high hopes for Gainwell as he was great in the playoffs last year, I hoped he could be RB1 behind that O line, but he went nowhere last Sunday. Safe to say it's probably Swift now.

Swift with 175 yards against the Vikings while Rachaad White managed 39 yards on 17 attempts last week  Buccaneers rushing efficiency has been pathetic last year (and seemingly this year as well).

Jefferson on course for the all-time receiving record by the way, and not even close at this point. Dude has 20 catches for 309 yards in two games - and not even one freak game, straight up 150+ in both of them :wenger:

After saying ad nauseum in the off-season that we were going to be a run-heavy offense this year, we ran 8 out of 10 pass for our scripted plays.

But … can you download?!

FYI I’ll keep asking every week!

That looks great, but I think I’d rather see the typical all 22 from the end zone so no players are omitted.

Can it be tomorrow afternoon already?
Spare a thought for me. My 17th time going to Plough Lane to watch the Wombles and still hadn't seen us win. 2-0 up at half time became 2-2 at the end courtesy of a 100th minute Crewe equaliser.

First experience of watching RedZone properly, since I always used to skip and watch games in 40. Let’s see if skipping out on DAZN fees due to lack of features is going to be as upsetting as I felt it was!
