NFL 2023

2 years ago people wanted Lance to come in in the wild card game in Dallas. We might finally get it tonight

The Jets have more playoff wins than the Cowboys since the Boys last super bowl.
I wore my stupid 40 year old Cowboyjacket all day today gloating about a big win and now this. Back to the PL for me

Tbf it is a big win

Ah well bye bye McCarthy. God knows who will be next in the revolving door. Already seeing Pete Carroll linked

At least there are legit coaches out there.

Only the second punt and that's with backup players. Wow.
Momentum is with Packers, just sucks it's niners next week who I think win it all

Hey now don’t let this get too close Packers.

Surprised to hear someone I had respect for like Olsen defend McCarthy like that.

Fox crew was trying to big up McCarthy and Jay Glazer was saying Quinn is still a top name for HC gigs. Bradshaw quipped "Shouldn't be after this game" (something like that) but Glazer held firm that he's still a top candidate and should be. One of them was saying Jerry is 81 and maybe he walked out knowing he has to do something if he wants to win before his time is up. But, can Jerry cede control? Can he allow someone else to get the credit? Can he limit his media craving?

And then it flashed to a horde of media camped outside Jerry's office waiting for him to come talk. That's the biggest problem in Dallas - Jerry. Think it was Strahan said "you don't see this in other teams" alluding to the owner being the immediate post-game presser. He said it feels weird when you're at AT&T stadium, like it's entertainment and not football. That players probably don't get a true pressure feel like some other organizations thanks to the culture within the owner has created and allowed to permeate. Like, Dak will get his extension probably and McCarthy may stick around or he'll fire him and give Quinn the job despite his defense getting sorely exposed.

Man I really hope the Lions beat the Rams. Dont even care if they go out after that in some way but losing to Stafford in the first playoff after so many years would suck.

I think that’s a bit harsh on Jerry. He is not perfect but I don’t think that he is as much to blame as some people think

Only one man has been a GM for 25+ years including multiple years of sub .500 records, failure to make it past a divisional playoff round, a history of bad drafts, ran two HOF coaches out of town because of his own ego, and so forth.

He's probably an awesome guy to chat with over an Old Fashioned or spirit of choice, but he's a terrible GM and a total media whore. He needs to step down and be like Robert Kraft, massage parlors optional. Kraft has his inputs and whatnot but he ultimately pays proper football people to do their job.

True. It’s been like this since he couldn’t get along with Jimmy Johnson. Let’s face it, we won that next Super Bowl in spite of Barry “we did it!” Switzer. Ever since then Jones has hired yes men. All of them yes men. We kind of almost got there with Parcells and now there is a real opportunity with what’s out there. This loss HAS to force some kind of change because if Jones stays this course at this point the media, pundits, and the public will turn on him. I’ve never been so down on this team even through the Babe Laufenberg and Steve Pelluer years.

Just risked it a bit by letting off steam too early. If Dak had connected with one of his long thrown then, we'd have a different conversation.

Great win, still.

Dreading the visit to SF, though. Hopefully we break the trend.
