Are teams catching up to Shanahan’s schemes? I’ve always thought that the scheme was just so good that Purdy just had to be competent at running it - which he most certainly has been. If teams are figuring out to play it then I worry for Purdy.

His previous hits have been egregious no question, but this latest ejection was bullshit and based entirely off his reputation.

I remain a sceptic. Nothing against him personally, I just have the same attitude towards anyone coming out of college because you just don't know anything for sure. I've seem the hype too many times. The last one was Trevor, who did not get quite as much fanfare as CW but he got a LOT. How good is he? Solid, but hardly what was promised. Before that it was Andrew Luck. He's not even in the league anymore and has a career passer rating somewhere in the 80s, IIRC. Russell Wilson and Kirk Cousins, who were taken in the 3rd and 4th rounds of that same draft have had better careers than the 'greatest prospect of all time'.
The success stories of this kind of hype would be Manning and Elway, but each was completely eclipsed by a contemporary who was drafted in a much lower round (Brady and Montana).
I'm excited to see CW play in the NFL, but there are no guarantees, especially with quarterbacks. Just too many variables.

A lot of niners fans are not happy with Wilks so they’ll be hoping the beef leads to an early dismissal. Not sure what is going on with the defence but Wilks has got a loaded group of killers looking very ineffective.

There must be a lot of tension in the camp. Very unusual for a head coach to call out an assistant publicly like that, he must be very dissatisfied with Wilks in comparison to his previous DCs
I agree, can’t be healthy. But the defence has been pretty poor at times in comparison to last season and if anything should have improved with the signing of Hargrove and now Gregory. Something not right and it could derail the season
