Okay. So the Eagles are pretty good. It was hard to judge them because of their piss easy schedule but this performance is very impressive.

Not sure this game gives us anything new about the Eagles. They've hammered the Giants twice already this season, and the Giants scraped into the playoffs despite their post-bye week form being terrible.

The Championship game will be more telling as to whether or not they're contenders.

Giants did look good last week though, although admittedly it was against the worst 13 win team I've seen in the NFL. I hope it's the 49ers they play in the NFCCG.

Excellent dominant win. Hopefully 2 more performances like this one

Disappointing end to a brilliant season for the Giants.Address some obvious weakness and they can be right in the mix next season

They're obviously contenders. Best regular season NFC team and into the final four. But yeah the toughest game or two of the season still to come.

No chance Mahomes plays next week, or even the SB. Those kinds of injuries get worse after a few days, not better.

Stud for getting them through, but his season ended last night IMO.

Giants getting absolutely slapped should have not been a surprise to anyone.

Fancy the Bengals to upset the Bills later, even with a makeshift O line. Gunna say Dallas to win too, but that may be heart ruling my head. Just hoping our pass rush can get to Purdy and upset him. Gunna need to stop that run though...

Not a surprising result last night. Also really shows just how bad the Vikes D was to be honest.

Will be interesting to watch Mahomes’ development over the course of the week. It certainly won’t be gone but I think he can mange it, even as a static QB he’s better than most (including Henne).

Two pretty boring games so far. Hopefully Bengals @ Bills makes up for it later today, already looking forward to it.

Mahomes doesn't do 1 and done, already had 5 seasons with a win, one behind Peyton. Peyton was the 1 and done master.

He might if his ankle is fecked. It even seemed to impact his throwing at times yesterday, logically so of course but the Bills or Bengals won’t be as easy as a flat Jags team.

Results went as we’d expected last night. Todays games are a bit more up in the air. The Bills Bengals game hopefully is a belter.

The Chiefs will compete no matter who starts next week, Mahomes or Henne, because their coaching is so good. But the Bills and Bengals can compete with the Chiefs even with a fully fit Mahomes. So it’d be a huge loss for them; whether Mahomes is a static QB or Henne starts. But I wouldn’t write them off just yet. Bills and Bengals both left a lot to be desired in the wildcard week. Both also pretty banged up, although not with their talisman.

Will be interesting to see how it progresses for Mahomes this week and what the actual diagnosis is.

49ers Cowboys has the potential to be a great game but as always it depends which version of the Cowboys shows up. You have to feel that the Cowboys need to be near the top of their game to have a chance here, when with Purdy at QB for the 49ers. Parsons will need to have an otherworldly game today.

It absolutely impacted his throwing, and there’s a lesser chance he’s anything near 100% by the SB after playing through it.

Such a shame we don’t get to see these AFC giants colliding at something nearer full strength. It should still be fun though.

Did you quote me by accident here? He's already won this year.... so 1 and done is impossible.

Bills deserve their moment in the annual game of the year. Stuff the Bengals.

Dallas will start slow. A couple 3 and outs. Hopefully no turnovers. If the Dallas D can keep the game within 2 scores at that point I think Dak will work his way into the game.

Oh ffs, 1 and done is of course immediately eliminated, got confused and thought you meant one win and then done, apologies!

As a long suffering Cowboys fan, it feels awfully nostalgic to be playing at the Niners in the playoffs. Gotta hope good Dak shows up, he was absolutely unreal last week, and absolutely awful the week before. Confusing. Could also use a bit more from Zeke.

The Purdy story is pretty amazing. That system appears not to need a decent QB at all, haven't had one in years in SF. McCaffrey is a monster though.

If Cowboys win, has it ever happened that a team has only had to beat divisional opponents to reach a SB (as would be the case for the Eagles)?

@edcunited1878

Do you have any thoughts on Desai and Ryan Nielsen being the other official candidates for the Vikings DC position. I'm not familiar with them and wonder if they share something in common with Flores?

It seems that they are all supposed to be "aggressive" play callers?

No, I'm not familiar.

But looking at some stories, Desai is extremely smart and innovative, which leads into a proactive approach.

With Nielsen, looks like he's a very good defensive line coach and has a knack for pressure and sacks. So controlling the line and getting to the QB/point of attack from different angles.

To your point about commonalities w Flores. They are very good coaches who coach up their players and get them to do things a little differently for greater results? Flores, what he did with Miami and got them to compete and improve as a whole was very impressive.

Thanks. Looking around they all seem to be considered as great leaders.

Just looked from 1980 when the wild card round was expanded to add a second wild card. It has not happened. I did see the Rams beat two division foes in 2021 - Ari, SF - but they also won a third playoff game against a non-divisional foe - TB. Think I saw a couple others with similar results, New England in 1985 was one of them - beat Mia, NYJ and the Raiders.

Yep...and it's no coincidence. KO challenges people, not just as players, but values people. And he knows how to get a tune out of people. Seems like that is the same vibe with the DCs he's implementing.

Flores - HC and they have coaching basis via Belicheck.

Desai - associate HC...super young age wise but different and top mind.

Nielsen - tough guy, physical presence that commands attention like KO.

I don't know who I eat to win between Bills and Bengals.

I like both QBs and both have Exciting O-lines. Guess it will come to the defense.
The Bengals have 3 starters missing on their O-line tonight, far from exciting. Burrow might be running for his life once again.

You should eat Buffalo, they have delicious wings.
