NFL 2022

Just watched the game. Rodgers is cooked.

The people that run the Cardinals need to get their heads checked if they stick with him. From getting fired from a mid tier college program to first time NFL head coach always seemed like a bizarre stretch.
And he is performing exactly as one would expect, regarding his resume. One of the worst coaches in the league. Has his team underperforming constantly. It boggles the mind that he still has a job.

My playoff bracket:

Dolphins at Bills
Ravens at Bengals
Chargers at Jags

Jags at Chiefs
Bengals
at Bills

Bengals at Chiefs

Seahawks at Niners
Giants
at Vikings
Cowboys at Bucs

Giants at Eagles
Bucs at Niners

Niners at Eagles

Super Bowl: Chiefs vs Eagles

Mostly agree.

In the AFC, I think Bills however beat the Bengals and then the Chiefs to reach the big game.

In the NFC, I think I am aligned.

I think the Bills go and win it all this year.

The Chiefs are lucky to be playing a Super Bowl after losing the Championship game :p

Breaking News as you typed it

Thank feck for that.

The only consolation to this season was the idea of a top draft pick and a coach with half a clue coming in next year. You feckers saying he was sticking around had me very worried there for a while.

On a bit of a tangent, now the regular season is in the books and, theoretically, the determination of who is the MVP, who do we think gets it? It seems like there isn’t quite a clear cut candidate as there has generally been in recent years, although I suppose Mahomes must be favourite?

MVP: Mahomes
OPOY: JJ
DPOY: Nick Bosa
OROY: Kenneth Walker
DROY: Sauce (good push from Hutchinson at the end)
Comeback player of the year: Geno
Coach: Shanahan but I hope it’s Siranni

I done Hurts as an outsider for MVP and OPOY at the beginning of the season, that injury scuppered either.

Took them about five years too long. Completely wasted Murray‘s rookie deal with that fraud.

I wonder how the Patriots are feeling knowing the lateral clown show play against the Raiders cost them a place in the playoffs.

Completely avoidable stuff like that deserves to be punished. But all teams who just missed out on the playoffs can point to enough plays during losses that could have swung the game the opposite way...but that 'lunatic lateral' is just hilarious. It's still not as funny as butt fumble because it happened to Mark Sanchez and the Jets.

Lamar getting tagged again
Word on the street is Lamar to the Jets, Ravens use some of those picks (I'd assume there would be 3 1st rounders at least) to get Fields from the Bears and then the Bears draft a QB.

Well that replaces Lamar to Atlanta as my favorite random rumor.

I've seen the tweets as well saying that the Bears should seriously explore trading Fields and drafting Young/Stroud because of a longer rookie contract, the fact that Fields was terrible from a passing perspective this season (stat wise at least), and whatnot.

All bullshit imo. I don't buy that the Bears are "years away from a quality competing roster". Trade down once or even twice, get a haul of draft picks and improve your team all around. Give Fields a better O-line than the awful one he had to play behind this season, give him (finally) a top receiver and watch him flourish, don't overcomplicate things.

Allen in his 3th year after adding Diggs
Hurts in his 3th year after adding AJB (WR1 SZN)
Tua in his 3th year after adding Hill

The leap is real, and Fields can be the next in line.

But if they do believe one of the QBs has a higher ceiling than Fields they could get that guy and a handful of picks (including a #1) from the Ravens and have a comprehensive rebuild. It does make sense.

They are not going to bet on a 6'0, 195lbs guy who's an inferior prospect than Fields was coming out of college, while they have Fields who has shown that he's a more than capable enough NFL starter already. That wouldn't make sense at all. Also why the Ravens? Highly unlikely they part ways with Lamar.

There will be rumors all offseason and of course Poles is gonna say they'll evaluate each QB to inflate the #1 pick value but they will simply not trade Fields. It's as idiotic a story as I've heard all season imo.

Young and Stroud both have a higher ceiling than Fields, mainly because both can actually pass and aren’t just running backs masquerading as a QB. That said, if da Bears are planning on sticking with Fields, they need to fleece some desperate team for a ridiculous amount of picks and or trade players. The Colts and Raiders would seem to be the ideal victims.

DL and WR should be top priorities since they are last in the league in passing and near the bottom in D.

Guess who's who... (or just check it in the comments, I didn't know either)

Really gonna need to buy a Watt jersey, just a damn shame the Texans are such an awful franchise and the Cards are pretty pointless. Maybe a Badgers one then.

Rumours are inevitable, but Jackson will stay with the Ravens I bet.

I think all the teams from Indi in 4th down to the Panthers in 9th could be candidates for a trade up to the 1st slot, with the possible exception of the Lions. Not sure if they all have the draft capital, but they all might/should be looking for a QB. Even the Titans and the Jets could be considering and attempt to move up.

What do those stats actually mean?
They are usually reliable predictors for players coming out of college, or at least that's my experience when looking at it. Less so in the NFL, although the leaders in YPRR are simply the best WRs in the league so it definitely counts for something: Hill, ASRB, Davante, Lamb, Kupp, JJ en AJB if I'm not mistaken.

Imagine the Bears trading it away to a team that takes the QB the Texans want

Who are they? Quick look in the replies gave me three names.
A is Waddle, B is Jeudy. Jeudy really did come on very strong in the second half of the season / after Hackett was gone. I think if they can get a HC who can put Wilson in the right situation to succeed again, Jeudy could have a monster 2023 season. In a contract year as well.
