2 of my 3 teams are getting A+’s in the second round, so that goes some way to making up for yesterday. Zona added a needed wildcard on offense with Rondale, and Cleveland got maybe the biggest steal of the draft in JOK.

I still don’t know how to feel about trading up for a RB in Denver, but his broken tackle rate is nothing short of incredible so at least there’s something there.

There goes Humphrey. Chiefs are going to have one hell of an OL
Oh fecking hell; I was just starting to feel positive.

Creed was a rock for OU, and stood out even next to future NFL OL. He’s also from a family of wrestlers, which as @Carolina Red knows will help you immensely in the trenches.

Fins take a tight end, Hunter Long. Wasn't expecting that.

We only only have one fifth rounder and two sevenths left, so that's things pretty much wrapped up.

Surprisingly still no C. Maybe Skura does get a chance to start despite completely forgetting how to snap the ball last season

Only 3 teams ...

Absolutely. There’s nothing like it to improve your body control, leverage, and toughness. The Chiefs clearly know what’s up, as Nick Allegreti was an accomplished wrestler as well.

Shout out to the Cowboys too for drafting Osa Odighizuwa, a 3x state wrestling champ and former #1 ranked high school heavyweight wrestler in the country.

The Broncos have made out like bandits so far. If they sign Rodgers this will be a Super Bowl ready team by week one.

Lots of articles about how amazing Lawrence is both on and off the field. Is he really all that on both fronts? Is he basically as sure-fire as it gets in terms of a QB pick?

He’s a top QB and seems to be an all around nice guy. I think he will be a good pro QB. Whether he goes beyond that is up to him and other factors such as whether Urban surrounds him with the players he needs. Burrow is in a similar predicament in Cincy.

Yeah. I guess my query was more because, all QBs taken with the first pick tend to get super hyped. But with Lawrence it’s even more then that.

Lawrence is as highly rated/hyped as they come for sure. Similar to a Luck, Manning and Elway... a once every ten years, can’t-miss prospect. Who knows if he’ll hit their levels of success, but I’m confident he won’t be a bust.

I remember first seeing Lawrence on the Elite 11 show (top 11 high school QBs), and he was the most talked about even then (although Justin Fields eventually won).

He’s been viewed as the second-coming of Christ since he was old enough to drive. What’s that one movie quote about Elvis or The Beatles, ‘(however many) million fans can’t be wrong’?

He’s not the hyper-intelligent guy that Peyton was which he’s compared to as a prospect along with Luck and Elway, but he still has everything. This likely won’t make sense unless you play video games on PC, but to me he looks like Herbert with a software update and a couple mods.

I‘m not bullish on his near-term future with the Urban-led Jags though, based on the draft so far.

I know the consensus is that no college team could ever beat even the worst NFL team. But idk, sometimes I look at Alabama and teams like last years Jags/Jets and can't help but wonder...

Would probably score a reasonable amount of points at the very least.

And Lawrence is no exception to the hype that all top picks get. I’d like to see how he fares against NFL speed and competition. The likeliest scenario is he will be a good QB who is held back by a mediocre supporting cast and dodgy coaching (Saban was a mediocre NFL coach and so there are no guarantees with Urban either).

Look at it this way - the last time these four players were on the same team at the same time, Bama lost to two college teams, including their hated rivals.

Thanks! Will be interesting to see how he does.

I still think it's utterly outrageous that the Eagles picked up an extra first round pick from Miami to trade down, and still managed to draft Smith - who has a decent shot to be the best WR in the class

What a move

The Jets have had a phenomenal draft imo. Wilson, Moore, Michael Carter at RB.
And AVT, who is up there with Surtain as one of the safer picks in the draft. So 4 possible day-one starters is quite phenomenal indeed.

I think it’s up there with Cleveland’s draft in the ‘way too early’ grades (the value of the first round trade involving AVT notwithstanding).

No chance. Worst NFL team would be up 3-5 scores by halftime. There's just too much a gap in size, speed, strength, technique, maturity, intelligence, coaching, etc.

Here is a thread from one of the more trustworthy guys to me outside of the Schefty/Glazer sphere. TL;DR: the rumors about how upset AR is are true, but a deal with another team was not actually in an advanced phase. My predictions on the most probable outcomes in order: 1-He’s in a Packers’ uniform next season, 1B-He retires, throwing two middle fingers in the air because he’s Aaron Rodgers and doesn’t give a feck, 3-He’s playing home games at Mile High.

You mean in 4 years times every other quarterback chosen in the same draft before him will have lost their job?

No, more to being a mid-round selection who could become a starter rather quickly if things fall in place. Won't likely happen this year unless Cousins breaks his back/worse.

So basically, we're waiting until June 1 to see what happens.

Miami did something this year that we never do, added players who can make game breaking plays. Waddle wouldn't have been my choice but I totally get the pick.

Phillips looks fantastic and is a huge upgrade on Shaq Lawson from day 1. But his injuries scare the shit out of me. Even setting aside the car accident, ankle surgeries and wrist injuries, he has had 2-4 concussions depending on who you listen to.

He said in his post draft interview that consusions are no big deal and part of the sport, but the NFLs lawyers sure don't feel that way. He has already medically retired once and if he gets any more concussions the NFL doctors could keep him off the field for a long time.

The literal definition of a boom or bust pick. Hopefully @Raoul is right and it turns out to be the former

I like reading about the drafts but don't know the players so basically trust the media who report on it.... if they say "such and such needed X position, got it", ok.

But reading Raiders took three Safety's in five picks seems an odd one? Any reason?
The term ‘vertical game’ is in their DNA.

And they also drafted a CB.
