Obviously with hindsight it’s easy to say - but I still think if you ignore a) and take it as a given that you will get that play, I would personally rather have the two shots - especially when in the first shot the defence isn’t in a hail mary defence.

No doubt. I’d have taken the shots aswell.

Yeah you are right, I initially thought the refs were late to untangle Dak and the defenders, then stumbled to give the spot and lost a few seconds there, but after having watched it again this morning, he didn't do that much wrong if anything at all. At most you could argue one of the (other) refs should've been closer to make sure everything was done as quickly as possible, but then again Dak gave it to the wrong guy and the decision to run was ridiculous in itself as well. Doubt any of the refs expected that tbh :lol:

And if your play relies on the refs being as quick as somehow possible, it’s not a good play at all.

We had it in our hands to beat GB in week 3 but, similar to last night, gave up way too much ground on a late time pressured drive with no timeouts with god awful defence. The only difference was last night they needed the TD, and GB just needed a field goal. I presume Bosa will be back, and the news around Warner sounded positive last night. So we can cause them some problems especially with those guys. I worry sloppy mistakes might cost us either at QB and CB-Norman has not adequately replaced the far superior but perpetually injured Verrett, and although I’m pleased with Thomas’ progression this year there’s still room to grow there.

Technically it is their job to be as quick as they can in these situations.

In a tight game like that the clock is one of the greatest factors in American football as well as basketball. The vagueness of the added time in football or the GAA, or the inability to manipulate the clock itself in sports like those or rugby, makes sense for how those games go obviously and would never work to do it the other way, but it is a very different element that can be really intriguing, not just in terms of adding drama but determining what way to play

I like your match ups against GB. I really think you can exploit their run defence. To my mind the critical things are:
- Can you stay ahead of the curve. You need to be able to control the clock. If you fall into a hole, say 14-0, I think it’ll likely be lost because …
- Can Jimmy do enough and play turnover free to allow you to stay ahead of the sticks. If you fall in a hole I think you need him to do more which in turns increases chances of mistakes and turnovers which makes things worse, essentially a big downward spiral. He needs to play a game manager role without giving away turnovers.
- Will Bosa be fit. You need to be able to get pressure with 4. And you’re good at that. But without Bosa you might not and in turn that might mean Rodgers has all day. If you can rush 4 and get some pressure, you’ve a good chance with flooding the field in the secondary and doubling Adams. Warner being fit is key too, but I think the Bosa one is critical.

They better change their style or they aren't going to be successful any time soon. No head coach should preside over a team with an offensive line like that.
 
Oh also in the game last night at one point after Deebo was tackled and lying on the turf Randy Gregory cheap shotted him with a rabbit punch to the back of the head. cnut. Typical of him really

For all the Jerryworld shenanigans, that’s a truly horrific statistic. Brady won more playoff games last year alone :lol:

Putting yourself in Jerry’s shoes, how would / could you really justify keeping MM? I really don’t see how it’s possible unless you think paying Dak was the big mistake.

The Cards slump coincided with injuries along the OL. I think the last game or the one prior was the first time they had all the starters together in good while. They’ll get a few snaps from Watt to boost morale. Home field don’t mean jack in LA.

I‘m taking the more dangerous QB: Zona in a close one.

Im struggling with this one. Always thinking different angles. How costly will Stafford’s turnovers be in the post season or will he control it better? How much does it matter that the weight of his previous results weigh on Stafford? How much might Cards lack of experience count against them at this level? How effective can the Cards pass game be with Hopkins out? Can Rams run it enough to keep the Cards rush honest?

I think it’ll be a close one unless someone really bottles it. Perhaps one mistake will cost whoever makes it. And for that Im leaning towards Cards. But feck it, im gonna pick the Rams.
 
I refuse to entertain the idea of Stafford winning a playoff game.
 
Overall Rams have the better team, I think.
 
The Rams beat the Bucs quite comfortably when they met in October. I can’t really see them having a particular preference, both could cause then problems to be honest.
 
Going with the Rams tonight, but that’s probably the most even matchup in the entire WC round. Hoping for a close one!
