Lets gooo. Dak finally getting paid.

Risky, but probably makes more sense than trading for Wilson (assuming Prescott fully recovers and is ready for next season). He's basically Wilson with more picks.
Yes the current deal is not good. But considering he was playing on the cheap for such a long time for them - I would not call it horrible.Great deal for Dak & deserved but a horrible deal for the Cowboys & their fans.
Shame that.
For their future it's not ideal. There time to win with Dak was under the rookie deal years. The tag on him & terrible injury just made his case for payment all the stronger.Yes the current deal is not good. Depends how highly you rate Dak I guess. He's not top 5 worthy imo but I get it's an ever developing pay structure. Based on this deal Allen will be matching/usurping Mahomes.Don't see how it's a terrible deal. How he played in 2020 was like an elite QB and he deserved to be paid like that - the fact that they don't have him under his rookie contract anymore doesn't immediately make it a terrible deal for the Cowboys.

He's top 10, clearly.... But this deal will limit how strong the team can be around him and to compete he needs to be top 5 level minimum on that deal imo. It's a tough situ for Dallas but it's of their own creation. He's become pretty good over the past couple of years (compared to his first 3 years in the league), has a 97 career passer rating which is in the top 10 all time. I believe he was on a torrid pace to throw for nearly 6k yards before the injury last year. Given that he's still only 27 and could deliver another 10 years of service, it would seem like a decent deal for both parties.
Dak is good but he isn't Wilson

We're in situ where you either win on the rookie QB deal or you're the goat.
Yes I know, the window is win on the rookie deal ideally. It takes a perfect storm on 2nd contract QB's.All top tier QB contracts do this.
Zeke's deal is a killer, yes. You should never pay the big contract to RB's & I'm all against ever drafting elite college RB's full stop.Nah, the horrible deals are Zeke and Jaylon Smith, and arguably Cooper and Lawrence. I'll give the latter duo a pass as Cooper put up the numbers after arriving to Dallas (granted he's a garbage stat guy in retrospect but still a quality WR) and Lawrence went from 4-3 DE to a stupid change in scheme that took him from his best spot.
QBs are taking what the market offers and most clubs are stuck in no man's land.
Exactly. Knowing how much of a pos JJ is, he must’ve looked at every opportunity to get rid of him post his injury before offering this contract.Deserves it for basically carrying the team on his back the past four years all with the owner hating on him
Rookie contract Wilson wasn't the current version Wilson either and Dak has statistically played just as well comparatively to Wilson's first four years (fifth year asterisk due to Dak's injury), so we shall see what Dak does going forward. I don't think Dak's ceiling is as high as Wilson yet many felt Wilson's ceiling was limited, but he later burst through to become an elite player. Dak may very well do the same.
Give any good to great QB that LOB defense, arguably the best ever all factors considered, for four years and you'd probably see SB appearances. Studs like Brady, P Manning, Rodgers may have gone undefeated in Seattle during one of those seasons from 2012 to 2016, and likely with multiple titles.
That Cowboys defense is why Dak likely will never get to the SB. And that OL needs to be addressed or Dak is gonna look like Mahomes running around in the SB.
Bring him back to DenverThought they’d tag Shaq. I think he’ll end up leaving for big money elsewhere.
Zeke has seriously regressed since signing his big contract. Tbf, his o-line wasn't what it once was and he started off well last season while Dak was healthy. The Cowboys problem contract isn’t Dak it’s Zeke.

We are a good draft away from challenging but that has been the case for a few years and not worked out.
Zeke , D Law and Jaylon were badly overpaid but i still believe they have the talent to show a lot more in this team.
We need to draft the right defence and offensive linesmen we possibly can. We don't need anything else in the draft and the one thing Jerry is good at is working the cap space he has
11 of the last 18 Superbowl winners ranked 9th or worse in points per game.Excluding 2010 the packers have scored 580 in 20 playoff games. Prorate that to 16 and it is 464 points. Which would rank 8th in 2020. I wonder why scoring the 8th most points isn't good enough to be the best team
And their defenses?11 of the last 18 Superbowl winners ranked 9th or worse in points per game.
