NFL 2021

I really don’t want Rodgers to win MVP on a separate note. Needs to be Taylor. Or Kupp.

Kupp’s a really good shout & would be deserving. Rodgers will probably win again since they love giving it to QBs, but he’s being a covidiot so feck him.

Looking to watch some documentaries on NFL stuff, any interesting ones out there? I see there is one currently still show with Tom Brady, and watch that Aaron Hernandez one, but any other good ones?

The Eagles all or nothing was good. Not a great deal of depth to it, but it made me like Carson Wentz a whole lot more. He seems like a good guy. Brandon Graham is hilarious too.

It's not NFL, but I just started watching the Michigan Wolverines one. Jim Harbaugh is the man.

Last Chance U on Netflix is good too, though the coaches at the first two schools are total dickheads.

I think if either of Kupp or Taylor pop off big in these last two games, and Rodgers underwhelms, they’ll have a real shot. Both putting up crazy numbers.

Taylor already close to 2k scrimmage yards. A lot of touchdowns too. 19 TDs in total. 1.6k / 300 rushing and receiving. That’s with a depleted line at times and in a team which started slowly and who everyone knows will run as their main game plan. And impressive still is his YPC of 5.5 which is matched by Chubb who has almost 100 less carries and only others who have less than half his carries.

Kupp has, in an inconsistent offence which has a lot of options, 132 catches, 1.7k yards and 14 TDs. All lead the league.

I know MVP always trends to QBs but if either of these guys reach 2K rushing or receiving respectively, I really think they’d have a shot because statistically Rodgers hasn’t been elite elite as such.

And the fact is, especially when you take in context, these guys have been significantly more influential (valuable!) to their teams than Rodgers has.

The AH trilogy is quite good. Man in the Arena is pretty good & it’s out there on free streams.

Watch one of the All or Nothings on Netflix. The Arizona Cardinals one was good with Bruce Aryans as coach at that time.

Cheers guys, already downloading the all or nothing for Arizona, will start with that.

AH trilogy?

The Packers have made hard work of games versus teams ravaged by covid and injuries, so I wouldn't rule out the Vikings just yet. They were extraordinarily jammy against the Ravens and the Browns.

NYT does some dickish things like that occasionally. There was one so bad they changed it…I’m thinking it was another sports great but I can’t recall who it was.

On a different note, a big slate of games today! Can’t believe it’s already the penultimate week of the regular season :(
:(

In a way, it's pretty surprising that the XFL and the dozen other attempts at the same thing all failed given how much of each year America has to do without its favourite pro sport.

A local family bought the whole front page of the Sunday paper as an homage to Ben, but the paper also sold a sticker ad…

Disagree, the Packers are a lottery team without him imo. JT also benefits from a very good O-line, some RBs (including him) can create space and YAC on their own but they're also very depending on what they're given by their linemen. The very nature of a "most valuable" award in the NFL is that it's almost always gonna go to a QB because of his center role in the offense, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Only other instances are when a RB does something truly remarkable (Peterson did it last I think) or when you have an amazing D-lineman on a historically great defense (Watt in 2013-2015 or Donald the last few years, but those weren't very great defenses either).

I think they should instead make the OPOY award a non-QB thing. That should definitely go to Taylor or Kupp.

I take your point but I wholly disagree in this case. I think QBs will (and probably should) win the award 7/10 times. But I think in years when QBs have been unexceptional, it opens the door for players in other positions who have close to all-time seasons at their position to win it. I really think GB does better than certainly the Colts if Colts lose Taylor and Packers lose Rodgers.
